  • Fortune telling at the table on the Old New Year
  • Lucky for the Old New Year!
  • The Old New Year, or rather the New Year according to the Julian calendar, is celebrated not only in Russia and other countries of the former USSR, but also in Serbia and Montenegro, as well as in some German cantons of Switzerland. However, it became “old” for us quite recently, 100 years ago. And before it was just the New Year, a cheerful and a little mystical holiday, when everyone wanted to look into the future at least out of the corner of their eye. The peasants were interested in the future harvest, the girls were interested in grooms, the heads of families were interested in profit, and all without exception - in happiness!

What happy omens do you miss? Maybe it's time for a little fortune telling?

Weather for the Old New Year: a note to summer residents

Previously, on New Year's Eve, people followed ... the wind!

If at night the wind blew from the south, the summer will be hot and dry.

From the west, it means there will be a lot of milk and fish.

The east wind foreshadowed an abundance of fruits and vegetables.

Relative to the north wind folk omens for some reason they keep an ominous silence. Let's hope it's just for the harvest all at once!

A clear starry sky portends a berry year, and abundant frost in the morning - a record honey harvest.

If it is warm outside, then summer will be rainy, if it is sleet, then you should expect a good harvest.

Guessing for the groom for the Old New Year

Probably, there was no one in Russia more superstitious than girls of marriageable age. They predicted the upcoming marriage in so many ways, as if they were going to marry ten times a year. For example, did you know about divination ... on bulbs?

Divination on bulbs. On the night of 13/14, the girls put the bulbs in a bowl of water and watched them for several days. Which one will release roots faster - that mistress will be the first to marry!

Divination on the ring, bread and hook: these three items were put in a bowl along with coals, pebbles, any other rubbish and covered with a cloth. The girls, without looking, pulled out this bowl the first thing that came to hand: bread foreshadowed a rich marriage, a ring - a handsome husband, a hook - a poor or sick husband. Well, she pulled out a pebble - do not wait for a marriage proposal!

Divination by dog. The dog was let into the room where the girl was waiting for her. By the behavior of the dog, they judged the disposition of the future husband: caresses - and the husband will be affectionate, sniffs and bypasses - the husband will be jealous and angry. And God forbid, if he tries to bite!

Fortune telling on a comb. Before going to bed, the girl puts a comb under the pillow with the words "Narrowed, mummers, come and comb my hair." If in a dream she sees a man combing her hair, then this year to be married to the person who dreamed.

Fortune telling with eavesdropping. The bride-to-be in the company of her girlfriends slowly sneaked up to the neighboring windows and listened to what was happening in the house. They swear - and the husband will swear, laugh - there will be fun in the family, they drink - the husband will come across a drunkard.

To meet the Old New Year in an exclusively female company is a bad omen: the year will be full of various troubles. So you better invite to the house young man, preferably from large family. It was believed that if he becomes the first guest in your house, then the year will be well-fed, rich and prosperous.

    Guessing at the table

Lucky for the Old New Year!

You can not rely solely on good signs; whole line rituals were designed to make the new year better than the previous one.

It is advisable to cook dishes from pork, chicken or hare. Pork promised wealth, rooster dishes - freedom, and hare - success in all endeavors. If you are not ready to look for rabbit or do not like pork, then replace the meat with the symbols of these animals - cookies or crackers in the form of animals.

On the table did not serve game and fish so that happiness “does not fly away” and “does not float away” from home. Crayfish and other animals that move backwards or move sideways were also undesirable - they promised the return of old problems in the new year.

Finally, the network found a description of "the surest and most reliable way to attract money to the house for the Old New Year." So: take two candles, one white wax and the other yellow. White will symbolize you, and yellow - gold, which will be attracted to your house. Light them at the festive table, setting them on a dish 10 centimeters apart. Close your eyes and mentally imagine how the yellow candle is attracted to the white one. Extinguish them and repeat the ritual the next day, setting the candles a little closer. Continue like this until Epiphany, when the candles should burn out to the end. Wrap the cinders in silk cloth and hide in a secluded place. Keep them until there is money in the house (and this, of course, will happen very soon!)

Happy new (now certainly new) year to you!

The beginning of the 21st century coincided with the significant date of the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Christ. We are contemporaries who were lucky enough to witness such a significant turn of the century and many anniversaries, primarily the 300th anniversary of the founding of our city. Time flies imperceptibly, in the past year we have already celebrated the 310th anniversary of the birth of the city of St. Peter. And the coming year will be filled significant dates our history and culture. In the first month of 2014, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the complete lifting of the Blockade, and in the summer we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.

A decade and a half ago, we probably, just like the people of St. Petersburg who lived at the turning points in history, at the turn of the century, meeting the 20th century and seeing the 19th century into the past, recalled the past and pinned our hopes on the coming century. They did not yet know that they would have to go through revolutionary upheavals and two world wars. And, despite all the horrors of the Blockade in Leningrad, they met and celebrated the New Year. Let's scroll together new year pages history since the turn of the century.

What the coming century has in store for us at the turn of the century

The 19th century serenely passed into the past, not foreshadowing any upheavals. Life went on as usual New Year's magazines of the late XIX century still complacently meet the next new year. On January 1, Birzhevye Vedomosti congratulates its readers on the coming New Year.

    For the new year 1898

    I.
New Year! How many thoughts and worries! ..
    Looking forward with hope
Without enmity and without bitter doubts
Let's meet cheerfully friends, new year.

    ***
Why does thought captivate ours so much?
Where is the source of love and kindness?
For whom is the first cup
Shall we drink, brothers, with shouts of cheers?

    ***
For you, Enlightener of the people,
    Our beloved Sovereign!
In the first hour of the new year
Let's shout together: "Long live the King"!

    II.
May He fulfill the calling of the heart:
He sees the Russian land, all around
Illuminated by the light of knowledge,
Autumn of truth by the cross.

    ***
And for those who are the people to enlightenment
    Boldly leads by personal feat.
    And the next generation
He sets an example of a bright life!

    ***
Oh, believe that the distance of the ideal
And behind the clouds it burns brightly ...
But so that the fairy tale does not become a fairy tale -
May the Lord keep the Sovereign!

    ***
Let the evil, prostrate to the bottom,
Cannot bear the radiance of goodness ...
For the Tsar, for the people's school
Let's strike amicable, brothers, hurrah! ..

“The New Year, as you know, is customary in our country, especially in big cities, to meet with a noisy feast, among all kinds of sinful fun and entertainment. In view of this, it is very gratifying to note the prayer service in churches at midnight on New Year's Eve. True, it is performed everywhere on January 1 after the liturgy. The initiative for such a meeting of the new year was made at first only by some priests of St. Petersburg. In 1894, in almost all the churches of St. Petersburg, a prayer service was performed on the eve of the New Year after the vigil. The all-night vigil on New Year's Eve was celebrated later than usual at 10 pm, an akathist to Jesus the Sweetest was also read, and at the end a lesson appropriate for the occasion was said, which set the tone of religious mood for the whole night for all those present. You can be sure that the solemn calls of church bells on New Year's Eve will show many who are involved in revelry due to their weakness and frivolity, who especially need to lend a helping hand, the real way, how they should celebrate the New Year. Wrote "Church Herald" in 1894.

"In the cities of last years a custom began to be established among believers to celebrate the New Year in the church, and the usual New Year's prayer service is already performed at midnight. In St. Petersburg, the newspapers more than once expressed the desire of society that all churches, at least parish churches in the world, be open to celebrate the new year. Such wishes and letters, telling about the meeting of the New Year by pious Petersburgers, were published in the New Year issues of the Church Bulletin. The editors, placing them on their pages, took on the mission to support this good custom, which is so in line with the spiritual needs of modern society.

“December 31, 1900,” writes one Petersburger, “at the beginning of the twelfth hour of the night, living near St. Isaac’s Cathedral, I looked out the window, in the firm belief that I would see the torches of the cathedral lit and the temple illuminated. But everything around was plunged into a deep sleep. Then I went to the Kazan Cathedral, always amiably meeting the religious demands of society, but when I drove up, and here I saw everything immersed in a dream. Pedestrians, however, walked towards the cathedral from all sides, knocked at the doors and sadly walked away. Others stopped and waited, not believing that the cathedral would not open its doors. They also drove up in cabs and, calling to one another with a group standing on the porch of the cathedral, quickly continued on their way. My companion had tears in her eyes. I felt kind of creepy myself. The doors of the house of God were closed at that momentous midnight hour, and it was as if they were saying: “Go away, outcasts.” The streets were ceremonially lit, restaurants, according to custom, invited to meet new century for champagne, in the midst of fun, to the sound of music and song. But I wanted to cry more, I passionately wanted to be closer to Christ, and it was so difficult to find Christ in this lawless Babylon. I did know that some churches would probably be open. The cab driver, inspired by the increase in tea, raced at full speed along Nevsky Prospekt, flooded with front light. At the corner of Vladimirsky Prospekt, the sweet Annunciation of the Trinity Church of the Society for the Propagation of Religious and Moral Education in the spirit of the Orthodox Church was heard. A little more - and her brightly lit windows appeared. Thank God! Here, with lamps in their hands, they were waiting for the Bridegroom, coming at midnight.

But now the new twentieth century has come, reminiscent of St. Petersburg's changeable weather of the upcoming New Year. After Christmas, only the weather and the streets of the city began to remind of the beginning of winter with a light frost and finally the long-awaited snow. And the pages of newspapers were filled with memories of the last century. Petersburgskaya Gazeta lamented: “No send-offs are being made to the outgoing century. No one thought to commemorate his dominion in some way. good deed: no estates, no institutions, no private circles and individuals ... everyone is going to just spend old year and meet a new one.

Mankind is embittered at the 19th century, probably because its most important discoveries served precisely as an instrument of crimes. By means of telephone and telegraph impudent swindles are arranged. Through the stock exchange and sweepstakes, organized robberies are perpetrated against the masses.

Its rival, another metropolitan newspaper, Petersburg Leaf, wrote the following: “Tomorrow is the last day of the 19th century. This day will pass, the fatal midnight hour will strike, and we will find ourselves in the twentieth century. What promises this century? Dark water in the clouds. The humane, enlightened, at one time splendidly celebrated XIX century, the age of steam, electricity, telephones and gramophones, ended badly. It began for health, and came down for peace - it goes into eternity under the roar of cannons, under the crackle of guns, under the groans and writhing of the wounded.

    They will say:
    - Oh, you are talking about the Transvaal ...
Yes, reader, and a little bit about China.

Is it not true that the inhabitants of the 21st century are a recognizable picture, it sounds quite modern, only to replace it with an airplane, a car, not at all a peaceful atom, radio, TV, mobile phone, computer and change the region to the Middle East and you can safely put it in the front page.

And what did they expect from the 20th century? “The last days of the old century are coming, a new one is already on the threshold, and meanwhile it is still unknown what tribute of gratitude we will pay to the obsolete century and with what celebrations we will mark the meeting of the new. It cannot be that this important moment of crossing the border of centuries passed unnoticed... It cannot be that the new century will serve as a colorless continuation of the old one and its repetition.

Science, buried in materialism and naturalism, cannot expand its horizons beyond the still unknown and undiscovered. The last word what was said to her, for example, in the city's electric consecration, cannot, after all, be recognized as a revelation of the highest secret of nature, because in nature, probably, the secret for more decent street lighting is still hidden, which is now beyond all criticism in St. Petersburg.

Art will not stop at the architecture of five-story houses that look like stone bags, in which only the criminal population should be imprisoned.

Literature will create new names, as the old ones have set their teeth on edge.

Even the horse-drawn carriages will change the present equipment, and the old cab-sledges with disgusting cavities will be withdrawn from use.

The coming century, no doubt, will change everything in a new way, and in this respect everyone will be curious to cross the border and at least a little capture a wide strip of its historical progress.

Again, the familiar analogies of our life arise. Alas, we will not know what the journalist of the Petersburg Newspaper would write if he found himself in St. Petersburg of the 21st century, he would have a good opportunity to compare. But we have the opportunity to follow him. Well, let's heed his advice, say goodbye to the 19th century, look in and open the doors of the 20th century, fast forward to the beginning of the 20th century. But in the beginning, in order not to ignore the lovely ladies, let's turn to another article "Woman and the 20th century" and find out what the beautiful half of humanity was waiting for and looking forward to.

“And now, waiting for midnight, when the new year 1901 comes to the iron doors and hits them with a hammer, and opens them wide to accept new requests and all congratulations, a woman is standing. A woman-wife begs the 20th century not to punish her if the marriage union does not turn out to be happy and she wants to relieve herself of an unbearable burden.

The woman-girl begs the twentieth century to inspire her comrade man so that he does not look at her as a hated competitor in her labor career, as a usurper who wants to wrest power from his hands.

A woman artist and a woman writer also pray for the justice of the 20th century, so that he would show the man all the cruelty, all the lies that he puts in contempt for women's work and women's abilities. If genius and talent are masculine, then victory is feminine, and after all, only victory crowns success, so is it not fair that everything beautiful, everything high, without distinction of sex, is the property of talent and genius.

    Two centuries

    And so my friend farewell!
God grant that you penetrate deeper into the realm of the spirit,
So that the human race does not treat deafly
    To the suffering of people
God grant that the brotherhood illuminates your age,
So that power bows before the right,
So that her general contempt branded.
Let the light of holy ideas triumph,
Let people all live as brothers.
And the old Age the New Age concluded
    into your arms
And soared into the realm of eternity on wings.

    "Non-calendar XX century"

The beginning of 1914 did not portend the great historical upheavals of the twentieth century. It is already decades later that Anna Akhmatova will give a countdown to the twentieth century, calling 1914 the beginning of a non-calendar twentieth century.

"The last year when our capital
    The original name was
And there was still six months before the great war,
    It's done, then
What should I say briefly and truthfully
    In my story to say.

With the outbreak of the First World War, the city changed its name to Petrograd, and August turned into a terrible prophecy:

    “A terrible time is approaching.
It will become crowded from fresh graves.
Wait for famine, and a coward, and pestilence,
And the eclipse of heavenly bodies.

... The Virgin will spread white
    Over great sorrows boards.

This is how Akhmatova reflected in her poem “July 1914” the beginning of a new era, which began with the fateful August the beginning of World War I, in another poem “Memory on July 19, 1914”, two years later she will say: “We have grown a hundred years old, and this / Then it happened at one hour. So "The non-calendar was approaching - the Real Twentieth Century," named to her in "A Poem without a Hero."

“The twentieth century began in the autumn of 1914 with the war, just as the nineteenth began with the Congress of Vienna. The calendar date does not matter. We felt like people of the twentieth century.

In fact, no one knows what era he lives in. So we did not know at the beginning of the 1910s that we were living on the eve of the first European war and the October Revolution. Alas!

At the beginning of May, the St. Petersburg season began to fade away, everyone gradually dispersed. This time the parting with Petersburg turned out to be eternal. We returned not to St. Petersburg, but to Petrograd, from the 19th century we immediately got into the 20th, everything became different, starting with the appearance of the city ... ”Akhmatova recalled in her autobiographical notes. “And I grew up in patterned silence, / In the cool nursery of the young age ...”

Digest of the early twentieth century

The nanny said to the children:
    "It was quiet and dark,
    Someone knocked on my window...
    I opened the window
    The bright guest let in:
    Gentle flying boy
    clear, curly,
    Winged flew to me
    Like a light dove
And he said: "I am the New Year."

What is a holiday without children? Let's go to the streets of St. Petersburg at the beginning of the twentieth century, together with the "Blue Journal" for December 23, 1911. “When celebrating Christmas, most of all think about children. They drag them to shops, choosing gifts, to circuses, to guests ... And, as a result, children who are not accustomed to turmoil are lost ...

Everywhere, in large city centers, forgotten children are found on a holiday. They stand, tearful, pressed against the wall, rubbing their eyes with their fists.

Passers-by stop. They ask: "Where is mom?"

And God knows where "mom!" It stands somewhere in the store, littered with fabrics, bundles, boxes, and bargains to the point of hoarseness with an exhausted clerk ...

The policemen, with motherly tenderness, take the children to the police station, and there they will even find the “mother!”

    Dad mom! New Year
    Let the old way goes.
If only God would give you health,
strength to work in good hour. -
    And then with your love
    Make us happy!...

Vasiliev's evening on New Year's Eve was called a rich evening. According to Russian tradition in the center New Year's table a pork ham was necessarily erected as a symbol of abundance and prosperity. Newspapers and magazines described the pre-holiday traditional turmoil. We will also go to the pre-holiday market to buy a quick meal for breaking the fast. Vegetarian S.S. on the pages of the Blue Journal, in the article “The Belly of Petersburg”, he laments: “Try to convince the layman to do without a festive goose, without an infantally innocent pink pig ...” Colorful photographs are also placed there with comments: “The tails broke off in the cold. The backs are cut. The entire torso is curved, ready to serve as an appetizing decoration. holiday table. He will tell which of you does not dream of a sacrificial pig with porridge at Christmas?! ..”

    Petersburg market

    For such a pig
Five and a half? Ah nah! -
    Angry lady...
    Almost a fight and a scandal ....

The merchant has a white apron
    And a ferocious tenor...
    We sell "madame" debeloy
    "Wonderful liver on a pie."

    Ladies, merchants, cooks,
    Piles of "holiday" geese
    Fish, game and red-bright
    Seductive loin.

The turmoil, the noise and the hustle
    Who buys, who sells...
    Every chest, every shop
    Will definitely call!

And on the sidelines "The Lost Beetle"
I kept this advice to myself:
How would there a head of fallen
    Fit for lunch!
    (Evg. Khokhlov)

We read in the "Petersburg newspaper" for 1913, in the section "Petersburg - before the holidays": "Before the Christmas holidays, a huge amount of frozen carcasses is prepared. The latter are readily bought up by the population, as goose and pig are traditional Christmas dishes. This is the only case when, contrary to the proverb, the goose and the pig are comrades. It plays a role here, and the fact that the pig is a symbol of material well-being. At present, the purchase of pork has already begun. And carcasses are constantly brought to the Sennaya market. They must be bought with caution, as pork can be contaminated and, moreover, filled with water, which, when frozen, adds weight. A corresponding photograph was attached to the report from Sennoy Market.

And now the modern Solokha is flying over Nevsky.

Is it bad or not bad
    But, like an experienced lancer,
    Modern Solokha
    Saddle a monoplane.

    And the lady has plans
    Amazingly light!
    Definitely monoplanes
    More seductive than a broom.

    Fast flying, light bird
In the dark night, in the brilliance of the day
    Smoothly flies over the capital,
    Seducing me too.

The humor in Blue Magazine, however, was based on real events. The newspaper "Rul" dated January 7, 1911 published a note "In the city arena", which reported the following: "At two o'clock in the afternoon, a repeated competition of model airplanes took place here, the former on December 29 and January 2.

The first prize went to M. Belitsky's monoplane; the second prize was given to the glider of Gromov; the third prize went to Ms. Chesma for the glider. They were awarded with honorary diplomas.

There are 11 participants in all, most of them are high school students and realists, one is a high school student.

The prayers of women at the turn of the century were answered. In 1913, the first women's calendar came out in St. Petersburg, very emancipated in its content. In its reference section, you can find all the information about educational institutions and employment for women, stories about their political social life, not only in the capital. They more than satisfy all the expressed prayers. In the same year in Russia, in St. Petersburg, International Women's Day was celebrated for the first time.

New Year's newspapers 1915-17 greet readers with a military theme. Not only the first page, but all the issues are devoted exclusively to the theme of the war, this is satire, patriotic propaganda content and photo reports of the realities of the war, attention is paid to the plots of the celebration of Christmas in hospitals and combat conditions.

    New Year's greetings

Life was still going on in its peaceful course, acquaintances and relatives congratulated each other on the New Year 1914, as they always traditionally wished “Happy New Year, New Happiness!” Together with these wishes, they wished happiness and unpretentious, but cute stories. New Year's cards. On one postcard, pigs could be seen lined up in the form of numbers for the new year 1914, the inscription on it read in Russian and German: "Happy New Year!" and "We bring happiness." The New Year in the form of a Christmas Grandfather and the young New Year are not on a traditional horse, but already in step with the times, they still peacefully soar on an airplane over the city.

European postcard for Russia. Beginning 20th century

German postcard from the beginning of the 20th century

Postcards were also a kind of historical chronicle, sensitively reacting and reflecting in their plots the social and historical events. So with the beginning of the First World War, this immediately found its reflection on postcards, a military theme appeared. But German postcards disappeared, it was Germany that was a major supplier of New Year's cards to the Russian market, in particular with the numbers of the upcoming New Year. By the beginning of 1914, there were still enough of them released, they managed to get to Russia, and were of a completely peaceful traditional character.

On domestic postcards, along with patriotic subjects, as the celebration of Christmas at the front - a holiday in positions where Tsar Nicholas II himself was present in military uniform, depicts sketches of military life and girlfriends, faithfully waiting for soldiers at the front. The theme of mercy was reflected in the plots: collecting gifts for soldiers, wounded soldiers, sisters of mercy, in this image you can also see Empress Maria Feodorovna with Tsarevich Alexei, congratulating the wounded in the hospital on the holiday. This applies mainly to Christmas cards. These were real historical events that could be seen in photographs in magazines and newspapers of that time.

New Year's cards retained their former plots. The congratulations of that time most often do not convey to us the alarming cannonade of the war, only the traditional volleys of uncorked bottles of champagne thunder. Life seems to continue to go on as usual with its little worldly joys, without overshadowing the onset of Christmas and the New Year.

    Claudia Feodorovna!

I congratulate you on the New Year, I wish you all unearthly joys, bliss, and all, all the best for the New Year. 1.1.13. this congratulation is marked with a postmark.

"Happy New Year! I wish to have this future offspring! I’ll go broke to come and see the mother of the family.” Such a wish 12/27/13. sends to his friend by another sender on the eve of 1914.

The Old and New Years peacefully flies in the sky on a Christmas card, the year 1915 is coming, its addressee already lives in Petrograd in the area called Sands, which was officially called "Rozhdestvensky". “We have the honor to congratulate you Ivan Ivanovich and Elena Vasilievna on the highly solemn holiday of the Nativity of Christ and the coming New Year. We wish you to meet and spend it in joy and good health.” Such words can be read on its back.

Finishing our new year trip warm congratulations, who flew to the Northern capital from the South, from Tiflis to the 11th company of Her High Nobleness Ekaterina Vasilievna Maksimovskaya.

    "Dear Katya!

Julia and I congratulate you on the New Year and send you the best wishes ... "

Old New Year is unlikely to ever become official calendar holiday, but it is traditionally celebrated in many countries on the night of January 13-14. Two meetings of the New Year appeared due to the transition from the Julian calendar to the current Gregorian, the difference between which is exactly 13 days. In what New Year's celebration continue to celebrate according to the old style, has contributed Orthodox Church- she refused to switch to a new chronology and continued to live according to the Julian calendar.

For modern people The Old New Year is an additional opportunity to celebrate your favorite holiday, get together with friends and believe in miracles. This date is attributed to special magical properties, therefore, exactly at midnight, it is worth once again making your innermost desire.

The Old New Year is one of the most mysterious and joyful events not only for deeply believing Orthodox people, but also for those who dream of opening the mysterious curtain into their future, because it is customary to guess at Old New Year. It is believed that this evening fortune-telling is the most truthful, and magical forecasts are the most accurate. The people have many beliefs, traditions and rituals for the Old New Year, but I tried to select only true Christmas fortune-telling based on reviews and personal experience.

In fact, there are a lot of ways to tell fortunes for the Old New Year, but not all of them, unfortunately, are relevant for a modern person. For example, before it was possible to guess about your future by eavesdropping on sounds under other people's windows - in modern society they are unlikely to adequately perceive a girl who is trying to hear laughter under the windows strangers at midnight (to hear children's laughter under other people's windows - to prosperity). Well, a modern girl will also not be able to pull a log out of a woodpile in the middle of a metropolis in order to find out her future and how smoothly her affairs will go (smooth log - smooth affairs).

Fortunately, there are such fortune-telling for the Old New Year, which are still relevant and effective for modern man. You can guess on the Old New Year both at home and on the street. I have selected the most interesting and working Christmas fortune-telling.

Divination for the future with cups

Usually modern girls guess at the betrothed in cheerful companies- This divination is perfect for just that. To find out which of your company will be the first to marry, you will need 7 cups or small bowls. In each of them, a ring, a coin, sugar, salt, onions, bread are laid out one by one, and a little water is poured into the rest.

Then you need to change the cups with your eyes closed in order to forget which bowl contains what. After that, with her eyes closed, each girl chooses a cup for herself, which she feels intuitively. If there was salt in the bowl - unfortunately, a ring - for a quick wedding, coins - for incredible wealth or a successful marriage, onions - for tears, water - for life without change, bread - for prosperity, sugar - for fun and good news.

Divination for the future with notes

You need to write all your wishes on small notes (one per note) and then mix them thoroughly. At random, you need to pull out three notes - this is exactly what will come true in the New Year.

This divination can be diversified by putting decorations made of wood, stone, silver and others in a bag or in a large bowl. precious metals. Closing your eyes, you need to pull out one object at random: if gold - to wealth, a stone - to stable incomes, a tree - to poverty. Ideally, if the jewelry is not yours, and your girlfriend will help you during this fortune-telling.

Fortune telling on the first comer

If you think that when you leave your girlfriend for your old NG, fortune-telling ends, you are mistaken. You can tell fortunes on the first person you meet - this fortune-telling will help you learn something new about your future husband.

Going out into the street, pay attention to the first man you meet who catches your eye. If you see an attractive man first, then this year you will start a new happy relationship. A meeting with an old woman or a girl will not predict anything good - most likely, this year will pass without dizzying love.

Divination for future children and their gender

They say that there is another truthful fortune-telling with which you can find out how many children you will have in the future and what gender they will be. To do this, on the Old New Year, you need to pour some water into a glass, lower the ring into it and put it in the cold (for example, on a balcony or on a windowsill). Before going to bed, a glass with a ring is taken from the cold and one can guess by the ice surface formed on it.

The number of bumps that appear on the ice surface will indicate the number of boys, and the number of dimples will indicate the number of girls.

    Rite for a prophetic dream

Everyone at least once wants to feel like a clairvoyant. In the old New Year it is possible! Before going to bed, put the King of Diamonds card under your pillow and think of the person you dream of marrying.

Then think about this person until you "fall" into a dream - everything that you dream about that night will come true.

Fortune-telling to get a definite answer "yes - no"

You will need a jar with some kind of cereal (rice, buckwheat, millet). For a one-word answer, hold over the jar left hand palm down, mentally ask your question, and then take a small handful of cereal from the jar with your left hand from the jar.
