The students are celebrating the new year. Foreign students celebrate the new year

New Year is a special holiday. Someone meets him with family, someone with friends. But magical Christmas mood covers everyone. V new year's eve everyone is waiting for a miracle, something fabulous, wants to celebrate the holiday in an interesting and unforgettable way. With questions about how you can usually and unusually celebrate the New Year, I turned to the students.

Alyona:
-The most unusual meeting of the New Year in my life happened 2 years ago. On the island of Sicily in Italy. Then I was 17 years old. The holiday began in the family circle, and then my Italian friends and I decided to go see the fireworks. Italians have a tradition of opening a bottle of champagne during fireworks and eating tangerines. The guys took champagne, and the girls were supposed to take tangerines. Everyone was in a hurry and last moment asked my friend to pick up fruits from the table. By mistake, she took the decorative ones that were also on the table. When we were already there, and it turned out that instead of real tangerines, the package contained decorative ones, everyone laughed for a long time.

Sergei:
- I usually celebrate the New Year with my family. But if there are debts, this time they can be left in the barracks. Then it won't be very fun.

Vania:
- The most unusual New Year? I think the past. I spent it with friends in a village where only 10 people live. Everyone was wearing 60s and 70s clothes. New Year in retro style, so to speak. And in the morning the whole company went for ice cream to the nearest city, which was 50 kilometers away.

Tanya:
- New Year - family holiday. It all starts with the fact that on the 30th the whole family we go to the city to buy various goodies for New Year's table we put things in order in the house. On December 31, we spend almost the whole day in the kitchen with our relatives. And the TV is on all day. Under the Irony of Fate, we set the table, then change into festive clothes and put gifts under the Christmas tree. Everyone congratulates each other and goes to the table. Then I write a wish on a piece of paper, burn the piece of paper, and throw the rest into champagne and, while the chimes are striking, I try to drink it. Although it rarely happens. It's such a tradition. And finally, the whole family goes outside (we live in a private house) and light sparklers. And if at such a moment it also snows, then in general a fairy tale! Then we run to warm ourselves in the house and eat tangerines. TV, armchair and something delicious on a plate - until four or five in the morning. And then - to sleep, so that on January 1 we all get out together to the square, on which there is a huge Christmas tree and two snowmen.

Alyssa:
When I was a schoolgirl, I always celebrated this holiday at home. And last year, in my first year, it so happened that on the very eve of the New Year, I was alone in the room. A friend called. On the phone, we counted the seconds to midnight, and then congratulated each other! We talked for a few hours and I went to bed. I remember this New Year very well.

Sasha:
There was only one unusual. How Christmas story. I met one girl. She lived in Novopolotsk. It seems like they became friends, corresponded. Somewhere in December, I got tired of it, I wanted to decide once and for all who we are in relation to each other. The answer followed: nothing can be, everything is to blame for the distance.
On the morning of the 31st, my parents went to visit relatives. I said that I would celebrate with friends, and I went to Novopolotsk myself. Wandered over it all night. I don’t know why, I don’t know why, I don’t know what or whom I was waiting for. I went around, probably, everything from the main street to the lanes. I didn’t feel like sleeping at all, and the night city and illumination distracted from stupid and naive thoughts. The next morning, by noon, I was at home, my relatives had not yet arrived. The mood was incomprehensible: it seems that everything is bad, although, on the other hand, this long walk was very interesting and exciting. When he arrived, he sat down at the "toy", for two hours he fired monsters with passion. I've never had so much fun playing games before. Drawn to sleep. I woke up at about ten in the evening, and there was nothing bad in my soul anymore. Probably left everything in that night city. And the feeling of interest in the girl remained for a long time.

On December 25, a New Year's student evening was held in the lobby of the MGIMO conference hall, organized by activists of the Student Union with the support of the Department for educational work.
