Organizational part. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, 2011 was declared the Year of Gabdulla Tukay. For the Tatars of the whole world, his work is a spiritual guide, one of the unifying principles on which the unity of our people is based. We also wanted to contribute to the celebration of the birthday of the great Tatar poet. We decided to dedicate our work to this date. Su anasy (mermaid) is a character in the fairy tale of the same name by G. Tukay.

Target: introduce children to the tale of Gabdulla Tukay "Mermaid" and knit a mermaid.

The subject of our lesson is the image of a mermaid. Modern children know her, unfortunately, not so much from fairy tales as from Disney cartoons.

In folklore tales, mermaids are very rare. But in literary fairy tales this image is very common. In general, mermaids are the heroines of legends, legends, beliefs, rituals. They live in water, differ from humans in a fish tail, and enter into complex relationships with humans.

Practical part.

Before starting practical work, I remind students of the safety rules when working with a hook, scissors, and pins. Students do the work individually (diagrams are printed out). I have conversations as I work. Monitoring the progress of work is carried out constantly, the methodology of work is recalled.

Crocheting a mermaid is easy. I have described the production sequence below.

Material: wool blend yarn green and Pink colour, for hair yellow, remnants of blue, black, blue yarn, stuffing, wire 15 cm, hook, needle. We start knitting from the head and smoothly move on to the body.

Hair: cut off 30 strands of 30 cm each, tie in the middle, sew on the head.

Everyone in their life has seen cartoons or films about beautiful girls with a fish tail. If you want to please and surprise a little girl, then the ideal option would be to create your own Mermaid Tail blanket. With this magical and unusual plaid, the baby will feel like the same fairy-tale hero that she admired while watching cartoons.

It will not be difficult to tie such a plaid on your own. Currently, many techniques and drawings have been created for knitting such a product. You can create such a wonderful blanket with any of the most convenient knitting tools. However, when using a hook, the mermaid tail will turn out to be more pleasant and gentle. Even an inexperienced craftsman can make such a bedspread using a detailed description.

Most often, when creating such a blanket, the following types of yarn are used:

1. acrylic;
2. Terry;
3. Fleece.

The acrylic yarn product has a higher quality, it can be washed in washing machine, but its cost is quite high. There are more budgetary types of yarn, for example, fleece or terry yarn.

First method

Most often, a mermaid tail is crocheted, let's figure out how to create it yourself using the example of a 117 cm plaid.

Before you start making the plaid itself, first create a test to determine the density of the yarn.

We knit 6 rows of 7 half-columns and 1 column with a crochet. A square with sides of about 10 centimeters should come out.

And only then we begin to knit the plaid itself. At the beginning we knit a chain of 82 air loops.

In the front row front side we knit 1 half-column with 1 crochet in the 3rd air loop from the hook. After that, we knit 1 half-column with 1 crochet in all air loops, as a result, 80 loops come out.

The second row is the wrong side. We knit 2 air loops, then 1 half-column with 1 crochet in each loop of this row. We repeat this row until the product reaches 61 cm. Then we finish knitting in the wrong row. Then we will narrow the product, creating the shape of the tail. We knit the first row on the front side of 2 air loops, then 1 half-column with 1 crochet in the next 8 stitches, then we knit 2 half-columns with 1 crochet together. We continue this step to the end of the row, forming 72 loops. Next, we knit the second row on the wrong side 2 air loops, then 1 half-column 1 double crochet into all the loops of this row. Thus, we knit 4 more rows.

Now we knit 2 air loops, 1 half-column with 1 crochet in the next 7 stitches and knit together 2 half-columns with 1 crochet. We knit this way to the end of this row, forming 64 loops. Then we knit 5 rows in the same way as the 2nd row. In the new row we knit 2 air loops, then 1 half-column with 1 crochet in the next 6 loops. We knit together 2 half-columns with 1 crochet and thus finish the row by making 56 loops. And again we knit 5 rows with the same methods as in the second row. In the next row we knit 2 air loops, 1 half-column with 1 crochet. We knit together 2 half-columns with 1 crochet. Continue like this until the end of the row. It turns out 48 loops.

Now we make 5 more rows according to the 2 row method. In the new row there are 2 air loops, a half-column with a crochet in the next 4 loops. We knit together 2 half-columns with 1 crochet to the end of the row. We form 40 loops. Then in another 5 rows, repeat the method of 2 rows. We finish with this part of the product, performing 2 seams - vertical at the back and bottom. Let's start creating a fin from 2 parts. We knit a chain consisting of 38 air loops. Front row with front side we knit 1 half-column with 1 crochet in the fourth air loop from the hook. Then we knit 1 half-column with 1 crochet in each next air loop, you should get 36 loops.

In the second row on the wrong side, we knit 2 air loops, then 1 half-column with 1 yarn, while bringing the hook into the loop of the previous row and grabbing the loop from the wrong side by the broach, as shown in the picture below. Then we repeat this action until there are 3 half-columns with 1 crochet left. We turn, leaving intact the untied loops of the row.

In the third row we knit 2 air loops, 1 half-column with 1 yarn, bringing the hook into the loop of the previous row and grabbing the loop from the wrong side for broach, as in the second row, and do this until the end of the row. Then you need to repeat the second and third rows until you get 21 loops.

It remains only to sew the sides of the tail to the main fabric along the bottom edge. Attach the thread with a connecting loop in the upper right corner of the tail. Sew the top of the tail to the bottom of the main fabric.

So the fabulous mermaid blanket is ready.

Second way

Basically, this product is crocheted, but not all needlewomen own it, so let's look at how to make such a mermaid tail with knitting needles. But first you need to decide what size our future product will be, whether it will be for an adult or for a small child. It is advisable to make an approximate pattern, that is, calculate the length, width of the plaid along the top and bottom.

After that, we knit a sample of the pattern and count the required number of loops for the set. And we calculate how many next it is necessary to add and decrease loops so that the tail expands and narrows in the right places. It is most convenient to knit such a bedspread from two fragments: the main part and the fin.

Below is a drawing of a pattern of the main part.

It consists of a fabric that is knitted in the form of an elongated trapezoid. There is only one seam, it goes in the center of the back side from the narrowest part and about one third to the top, so that it is convenient to climb into this blanket with your feet.

Depending on the desire and the chosen pattern, you can start knitting the product from above or below. Patterns can be selected in a variety of ways. For example, a pattern very similar to fish scales, its diagram is presented below.

If you want the tail to be more fabulous, you can use a wavy pattern, with one or more colors:

You can also use some kind of lazy jacquard pattern, for example:

The fin is easiest to knit from the side, alternating stripes of 2 rows of the front and 2 rows of the wrong side, as in the image below:

At the same time, on the left, in the course of knitting, at the beginning of even rows, we close one loop at a time, and then we add at the end of odd rows one loop at a time the same number of times with air loops so that a kind of fin cutout comes out fish tail. WITH right side Before assembling the product, you can slightly pull the fabric from the edge with threads, as shown in the drawing.

Now we can collect our tail. First, we sew the main part, approximately to the knees, that is, only one third of the product remained free on top.

We collect the top of the fin a little on the thread, while adjusting its width along the sewn bottom of the main part.

Now we sew the tail to the main part, the seam should be in the middle of the fin. You can also insert the fin slightly inside the main part and sew at the same time.

And we decrease two rows by 4 loops in everyone: on the sides, on the stomach and on the back at the back. We tighten. We fill the bottom with synthetic winterizer.

Now we return to the bottom of our mermaids. And add blue yarn. We will do 3 rows with this color. Now let's subtract rows by 6 columns. And we will do 3 rows. Again after that we perform 6 reductions. And knit five rows. And then on the contrary, we perform 6 additions in any places. And we will do 3 rows. We perform 6 decreases in the next two rows. And knit two more rows.

And we will immediately knit the handles.

We close 4 loops in a ringlet and add 4 more in the 2nd row. Next, we will perform four rows without changes.

We perform 2 increases and again without changes 4 rows. And still we carry out 2 increases. Then we have 10 rows without changes.

For the ponytail we need tie fins. We carry out a sliding blue loop and 6 columns without a crochet into it. In the other two rows, add 3 columns each. And in the fourth we perform 6 increases.

Knit 3 rows. And let's do one more detail. We will also tie the tail element up. We will collect thirty-five loops.

We knit 10 columns. And then we knit a half crochet with a crochet, 1 column with a single crochet, five columns with two crochets, a column with one crochet, a half crochet with a crochet, two connecting columns and repeat again.
