Shiatsu

Finger pressure therapy has long been successfully used in place of acupuncture. Shiatsu acts on biologically active points, which the master often chooses intuitively. They are pressed with the base of the palm and fingers. In the area of ​​the shoulder blades, chest, carotid artery and temporal region, pressing is done with three fingers and the base of the palm, the back and limbs are massaged with the thumbs. The pressure is applied gently, without rubbing and tissue displacement, while the working finger is perpendicular to the treated area.

There are several Shiatsu techniques: soft and longer pressure - for 5-10 seconds on one point, without taking your fingers away (repeated 2-3 times), as well as light pressure without jerking on a point for 3-5 seconds. Many elements of the technique are easy to learn, after which they can be performed at home. The duration of the general Shiatsu session is 60 minutes, the private session is about 5-15 minutes.

Japanese facial massage

Below we will consider the features of popular oriental techniques: Shiatsu acupressure, zogan massage from Japanese stylist Yukuko Tanaka, and skin exposure using the Kobido method. Each of the techniques has its own subtleties, but they are all united by one goal - providing a rejuvenating effect, healing, and eliminating the undesirable effects of external factors on the skin.

Shiatsu

The founder of this Japanese manual therapy with finger pressure is Takuhiro Nakimoshi. From the impact on specific points, the lactic acid accumulated in the muscles is replaced by glycogen, from which their natural contraction is restored. Thanks to Shiatsu, mimic wrinkles formed as a result of muscle hypertonicity are smoothed out. In addition, pressure with your fingertips stimulates blood circulation and lymph outflow, eliminating swelling, soothing the skin, stimulating the functioning of organs.

In Shiatsu acupressure, high intensity pressure should be applied using the pads of the thumb, index and middle fingers, while the skin should be cleansed and moisturized. The time of pressure on each point is 5-7 seconds. The Japanese Shiatsu technique is as follows:

  1. Put your fingers on your forehead: the ring fingers should be in the center, the rest should be located a little further away. Press the dots for 5-7 seconds. Similarly, massage all areas of the forehead.
  2. Massage the skin of the eyes, eyebrows. With ring fingers, press on the edge of the eyebrows, which is near the temples. With medium pads, press on the middle part of the eyebrows. Press on the area near the eyes with your index fingers.
  3. Press first on the outer corners of the eyes, then on the inner ones.
  4. Massage the bridge of the nose: put three fingers between the eyebrows, press for 5 seconds.
  5. To act on the upper part of the eyes, you need to press the ring fingers into the inner corners of the eyes, the middle ones on the upper eyelids, the index fingers should be in the outer corners of the eyes. Actions to be carried out carefully and gently. By analogy, do the same on the lower part of the eyes.
  6. Next, place 3 main fingers in the sub-zygomatic part of the face. Press with force, slightly pulling the skin up.
  7. Click on the points located near the wings of the nose. Hold for 5 seconds.
  8. Press your finger on the point in the middle above the lip.
  9. To massage the corners of the lips, you need to press on them with the pads of your index fingers.
  10. You can influence the chin by pressing on the central dimple, which is located below the lips.
  11. Put three fingers along the cheekbones, place a large one under them. Press for 5 seconds. Repeat the action 3 times.
  12. Place 3 fingers along the neck and behind the ears. Hold no more than 7 seconds.

Yukuko Tanaka

The Japanese stylist brought back the forgotten massage technique of her compatriot Hiroshi Hisashi, supplementing it with new elements to increase efficiency. Zogan massage is a kind of gymnastics, in which superficial tissues and deep muscles are exposed, due to which toxins are removed from the pores, the skin comes into tone. The provision of osteopathic practice simultaneously with lymphatic drainage massage contributes to the preservation of beauty and youth for many years.

Asahi facial massage is performed in a sitting or standing position, while maintaining an even posture. The duration of one procedure should be about 10-15 minutes, and they need to be done daily. Do not forget to cleanse the skin before conducting Japanese self-massage. Then you can master the Asahi massage, which improves lymph flow from the tissues of the facial muscles. However, first learn the final movement, which will need to finish the exercise on any zone, with the exception of the one that is done at the corners of the mouth:

  1. With three fingers (ring, middle, index) of the left and right hands, lightly press on the point located near the auricles - the area where the lymph nodes are located.
  2. Press the entire length of each finger, pressing them firmly against the skin. The duration of pressure is 2 seconds.
  3. After that, smoothly descend to the collarbones with the same intensity of pressure.

Before starting the procedure, lubricate the face with a massage cream, then prepare the skin by developing the area of ​​the lymph nodes. To do this, run your fingertips three times from the temporal region, down the neck down to the collarbones. Then do the following exercises:

  1. Forehead smoothing. Place your ring, middle and index fingers in the center of your forehead in a horizontal position, press them tightly. Apply pressure for three seconds, move the pads to the temples, pressing and pressing. Turn at a right angle, move your hands to the side of the face, along the ears, along the neck towards the collarbones, reducing the pressure.
  2. Massaging around the eyes. Place the pads of your working fingers near the outer corners, lifting and spreading your elbows to the side. Move to the inner corner, barely touching the skin. Lock the position by increasing the pressure. Swipe, with moderate pressure, under the eyebrows, working towards the outer corner. Lock the position, and after three seconds, return to the inner corner, while relieving pressure. After that, while pressing, move your fingers along the lower orbital bone, moving to the outer corner from the inner one. Hold for 3 seconds with moderate pressure. Return to the inner corner, loosening the pressure to a minimum.
  3. Chin, lifting the corners of the mouth. Place the pads of your fingers on the central dimple of the chin, press for 3 seconds. Circle the mouth, connect the fingers above the upper lip. Lock in with increasing pressure.
  4. Lifting of the cheeks, lower part of the face. Fix one part of the face, resting on the bone of the lower jaw. Slide your other hand to the outer edge of the eye, starting from the lower jaw, while applying increased pressure. Stop, press for 3 seconds. By analogy, repeat the steps on the other side of the face.
  5. Smoothing of nasolabial folds. Make 5 arcuate movements around the wings of the nose, slide to the bridge of the nose, massage the back of the nose with rubbing movements.
  6. Massage of the cheekbones, strengthening the middle of the face. Spread your elbows to the sides, put your fingers on your cheeks, move to the temples, putting pressure on the skin.
  7. From the second chin. Place one palm under the chin, lead it to the earlobe, squeezing the muscles well. Repeat the steps on the other side.
  8. Face lift. Bring your hands to your chin, spread your palms to the side, bringing your elbows together. Place the bases of the palms on the chin, move them along the cheeks to the ears, pressing. Fix at the extreme point.
  9. Spread your palms to your ears, applying considerable effort. Smooth your face with your index and thumb. Hold at the extreme point for 3 seconds.
  10. For forehead wrinkles. Smooth out your forehead by moving from right to left in a zigzag motion. Finish the exercise by returning to the starting position.

Kobido massage

This technique is one of the most popular massage techniques. Kobido is aimed at enhancing the regeneration of skin cells, it helps to relieve tension, while producing a powerful healing effect. To perform actions independently, it is necessary to carefully study the anatomical atlas, paying special attention to the lymph nodes and facial muscles. The first stage of Kobido is the cleansing of skin cells, steaming, peeling and moisturizing with a special cream or oil.

After completing the first stage, you can begin to influence the lymphatic ducts and meridians. Massaging should be done with extreme caution so as not to put pressure on the lymph nodes, as they are sensitive and vulnerable. Next, you need to carefully work out the facial muscles. Those who like to carry out self-massage techniques on their own should take into account that it is better to entrust Kobido to professionals, because insufficient knowledge of the anatomy of the face can be harmful.

Contraindications

Carrying out lymphatic drainage massages and any other effect aimed at skin rejuvenation is contraindicated for people who have:

  • any infectious disease;
  • high pressure;
  • reduced intracranial pressure;
  • skin diseases: rosacea, dermatitis, allergic manifestations;
  • pain syndrome;
  • a viral disease, such as herpes;
  • diseases associated with neoplastic phenomena or neoplasms;
  • diseases of the liver, heart, lungs or kidneys of any severity.

Today we will tell you about the unique method of rejuvenating lymphatic drainage facial massage - Zogan.

What is Asahi massage, or Zogan - the benefits of this Japanese facial massage

This massage was developed and presented to the public by the famous Japanese stylist and cosmetologist Yukuko Tanaka. While working as a make-up artist on television, she was faced with the task of giving the actors a young and “fresh” face. Just putting on makeup didn't work. She even tried to do a regular cosmetic massage before applying makeup - but this did not help either.

This prompted Yukuko to spend years of research in search of a method of facial rejuvenation. She studied ancient Japanese techniques and the relationship between skin, muscles, bones, and lymph glands, resulting in her own rejuvenating facial massage technique called Zogan, which literally means “creating the face” in Japanese.

This - “deep” massage, in which there is an impact not only on the skin and muscles of the face, but also on the lymph nodes, and even the bones of the head, through a small force effect.

At the same time, special care should be taken in the zone of the lymph nodes: there should be no pain. If you feel pain, then you are doing something wrong.

It should be noted that at 60, Tanaka looked no more than 40.

Anti-aging massage according to the Yukuko Tanaka method is unique and has a number of advantages:

Before starting the Japanese lymphatic drainage massage procedure from Yukuko Tanaka, you must carefully. You can use any cleansers - foam, milk, gel - whatever you like, you can use, then blot your face with a napkin.

The next step in preparing for a massage is to apply massage oil to the skin of the face. If you don’t have exactly “massage” oil, cosmetic oil can replace it. For this purpose, almond, apricot or wheat germ oil is perfect. Instead of oil, you can use a fat cream.

Next, move on to the massage itself.

Zogan is best performed in the morning, when the muscles of the face are not yet so tense, and cosmetics have not yet been applied to the skin. The result is a beautiful, fresh and ruddy complexion for the whole day.

But, if in the morning you do not have time for a massage, then you can spend it in the evening.

It is important to remember that this massage is done in a sitting or standing body position with a straight back - but not lying down!

Advice: after the end of the massage, sit quietly for a couple of minutes, then clean your face again and wash with warm water.

Finally, apply your usual skin care products to your face.

1. Warming up the lymphatic tract

To do this, with tightly clenched straight fingers, we lead from the ear - along the neck, to the collarbones. We repeat 3 times.

2. Strengthen the forehead

Place the index, middle and ring fingers of both hands in the middle of the forehead, then with straight fingers continue the movement with a slight pressure - down to the collarbone, slowing down the movement in the temporal region.

Do this exercise slowly 3 times.

3. Smoothing wrinkles and removing swelling around the eyes

With the middle fingers of both hands, we begin to move from the outer corners of the eyes, under the lower eyelid - to the inner corners of the eyes.

Then we run our fingers under the eyebrows - and go back to the outer corners.

Now, from the inner corners of the eyes, we draw our fingers just under the lower eyelid to the outer corners. Next, the fingers move smoothly to the temporal region and down to the collarbone.

We repeat 3 times.

4. Lifting the area around the mouth

Place the index and middle fingers of both hands in the middle of the chin.

Start a slow movement with pressure - to the corners of the lips, then we lead with the middle fingers to the area under the nose, where you need to increase the pressing force.

Maintain pressure throughout the exercise.

We repeat the exercise 3 times.

5. Nose massage

With the middle fingers, with a slight pressure, we draw around the wings of the nose 3 times, then we make transverse movements from the wings of the nose to the bridge of the nose - and vice versa, 3-4 times.

At the end, we move our fingers along the upper cheekbones - to the temples and down to the collarbone.

6. Remove nasolabial folds

We put our fingers on the chin.

From the chin we lead to the corners of the lips, from there to the wings of the nose, then to the area under the inner corners of the eyes - and we linger in this position for 3 seconds.

Then we lead to the temporal part, from there - down to the collarbone.

We do it 3 times.

7. We tighten the oval of the face

Place one hand on one side of the face, with the other hand, move diagonally from the lower cheekbone to the inner corner of the eye. Hold your hand in this position for 3 seconds.

Then swipe to the temple - and down the neck, to the collarbone.

Repeat 3 times.

Now switch hands - and do the same exercise for the other cheek.

8. We model the cheekbones

For about 3 seconds, press with the pads of your fingers on the area near the wings of the nose.

Repeat 3 times.

9. Smooth the skin around the mouth

Place your hands on the sides of the chin, and with the soft part of the palm (the area near the thumb) press continuously for 3 seconds.

Then, continuing to press, take your hands to your ears - and down along the neck, to the collarbone.

Repeat the exercise 3 times. For those who have very loose skin, the number of repetitions should be increased to 5 times.

10. Get rid of sagging cheeks

Place your hands on your chin under the corners of your mouth.

Using the soft part of the palm at the base of the thumbs, move your hands to the temples, and then to the collarbone, ensuring the outflow of lymph.

Repeat 3 times.

11. Remove the second chin

Place the lower part of the palm of one hand under the chin - and with pressure, move your hand along the edge of the lower cheekbone, behind the ear.

Then we do this exercise for the other side of the face.

We repeat 3 times. Those who have problems with the second chin can do the exercise 4-5 times.

12. Tightening the muscles of the whole face

We bring our hands to the face with an inner edge so that the tips of the fingers are on the bridge of the nose, and the thumbs are under the chin. It should be a triangle.

Now, with a little pressure, we begin to move our hands to the ears, and then down to the collarbone. Make sure there is no gap between your hands and skin.

We repeat 3 times.

13. We remove wrinkles on the forehead

With the fingertips of the right hand - in the direction from left to right and from right to left - we make zigzag movements for several seconds.

Repeat 3 times.

At the end place both hands in the middle of the forehead - and slowly slide your hands to the temples, and then to the collarbone.

Always remember the main thing: all manipulations are done slowly, with pressure, but there should be no pain!

If during the exercise you experience pain, this means that you need to reduce the pressure. Keep a balance between pain and comfort.
