Easter or Light Christ Sunday- the biggest and long-awaited holiday for Orthodox Christians. The word "Easter" in Greek means "deliverance". Easter is considered one of the ancient holidays. In Russia, this bright holiday began to be celebrated as early as the 10th century.
Easter is our favorite holiday. And so we are preparing with all responsibility for the meeting of this mysterious holiday - we put things in order in the house, we strive to cleanse ourselves both externally and internally, we bake Easter cakes, prepare Easter and, of course, paint eggs.
After all, eggs are main attribute Easter table. Among the ancient Slavs, the egg personified the sun, earth, universe, life, fertility, rebirth and strength that opposed evil spirits. In general, our ancestors more than once resorted to the magic of the egg - it protected the cattle, and gave a good harvest, and protected the house. For Christians, the egg symbolizes the Resurrection of Christ, the emerging and renewing life. The egg is a symbol of life, under the shell of which life itself is born in the form of a divine being.
Why do we paint eggs in bright colors? The most popular color is red or purple. These colors symbolize the sacrificial blood of Christ. According to one of the legends, after Jesus Christ was resurrected, all his disciples went to different countries with the message that Christ conquered death. And so, one of the followers of Christ, Mary Magdalene came to the city of Rome, where the emperor Tiberius ruled. It was not customary to come to the emperor without gifts, and the wise woman took a simple chicken egg as a gift for him, which has always been a symbol of life. Approaching Tiberius, Mary said: "Christ is risen!" To which the emperor laughed and said: "It is as impossible as your white egg to turn red." And before Tiberius had time to finish the phrase, the egg in the hands of Mary Magdalene turned completely red, and the shocked emperor exclaimed: “Truly Risen!” This is what has survived to this day.

Of course, there are many ways to decorate eggs. And I suggest you decorate your holiday table, thereby delighting your loved ones, with such a funny Easter composition.

And don't forget to take 70 percent Have a good mood, 20 percent wild imagination, 10 percent of your patience and 100 percent pleasure you are guaranteed.

So, friends, let's get to work.
The first stage of our creative path will be the "weaving" of the basket.
We take an ordinary plastic lid from a coffee can, pierce holes in it for the wire, which will act as the edges of the future basket. The number of holes must be odd.

figure 2

After that, we trim the wire with wire cutters and shape the future basket by bending and pushing the wire apart.

figure 3

Now let's start preparing the "rods". We tear off strips 20-25 cm long from a roll of toilet paper and twist them into bundles. We will prepare a paste from flour and boiling water, i.e. pour the flour with hot water. The consistency of the mass should be like thick sour cream. We lower each tourniquet into a paste.

figure 4

And immediately we begin to "weave" the basket, winding the tourniquet by the wire ribs into checkerboard pattern. And so to the very top. On the top of the basket we lay a tourniquet, also processed in a paste by pressing it with your fingers. Carefully turn the basket over and process the bottom edge in the same way.

figure 5

We do the basket handle like this. We slightly bend a piece of wire to fit the size of the basket and put it under the bundles so that it is not visible and wrap it around with an adhesive bundle. The ends of the bundle are gently pressed against the edges of the basket.

figure 6

We leave our creation to dry.
And we transgress to the creation of the main culprits of the festival - chickens and a cockerel.
Technique for performing chickens - cocoon. We pierce the container with clerical glue in the lower part with a darning needle with a thread of the appropriate color (yellow or variegated - connect orange and red threads).

figure 7

We hold the end of the thread with a finger on the egg, and with a bubble of glue and with a thread threaded through it, like a coil, we begin to wrap the egg in different directions. We do the same procedure with the second egg.

figure 8

Let the pieces dry.
And in order not to waste time, let's cut out the details according to pre-prepared templates.

figure 9

Here are the blanks of the cut parts should turn out:

figure 10

For the strength and stability of future chickens, a cardboard blank must be laid between the parts of the legs and glued.

figure 11

We glue legs, eyes, cilia to the dried blanks of chickens. Sew on scallops, beaks and wings.

figure 12

For the expressiveness of the eyes, we will add some highlights with the help of a corrector. Here we have such a solar miracle.

figure 13

In the meantime, our basket has also dried up. Now let's work as artists. Armed with a flat bristle brush and gouache paints. We apply the first layer of golden paint, and without waiting for it to dry, immediately apply brown paint in short strokes.

figure 14

Let dry and varnish.

figure 15

Let the varnish dry completely. It will take 2-3 hours.
We are moving on to the final stage of creating an Easter composition - making grass.
We cut out petals of arbitrary shape from the fabric and process the edges with fire.
