The pencil bookmark is one of the easiest origami crafts for children. It is also a useful hand-made item.

For work you will need:

How to make a pencil bookmark?

Prepare a rectangular piece of paper. The size depends on how large you need the tab. But the most acceptable option is the length of the strip - 21 cm, and the width - 8.5 - 9 cm.

Fold in half with the white side on the inside.

Open the paper, put the white side towards you and fold the fold on top, no more than 1 cm.

Turn the paper over with the color facing you. Fold the right corner to align with the center fold.

Then the left one.

And immediately fold again right side aligning it along the center fold.

Then the left one.

Turn the paper over with the white side facing you, the pencil shaft is already visible from above. Fold the bottom of the paper up, roughly defining the height of the white part of the origami pencil.

Turn the paper over again and fold the sides, right first.

Then the left slightly overlaps the right.

To keep the sides well, open the left side a little and place the right side of the paper in the pocket inside.

The lower part is fixed well, attach the upper corner of the side with a glue stick.

Turn over, the origami pencil bookmark is ready.

Often times, bookmarks help us out during school lessons. They can be either purchased or made by hand. You can also make bookmarks out of paper using the origami technique. We use colored paper, painted on one side only. The other side will be white. So in a short time we will get one bookmark in the form of a pencil for ourselves and several for our beloved friends in our class.

Bookmark paper pencil step by step

1. We prepare a sheet of one-sided paper, which will have parameters 18 x 6 cm. Draw lines with a ruler and a pencil and cut out the desired figure with scissors to get a blank for a future bookmark for a school.

2. Turn the workpiece over with the colored side to the working area. Bend the top edge down by about 1 cm.

3. Create the desired triangular shape pencil on the top of the workpiece with the folds. So we bend the sides to the center.

4. Bend the sides to the center again to make the pencil even thinner.

5. Turn the workpiece over. At the top you can see a colored pencil tip on a white background.

6. Bend the bottom of the workpiece up to a certain point to leave the white part of the pencil 3-4 cm.

7. Turn the future pencil, which will serve as a bookmark for textbooks for the student.

8. Bend the right side of the pencil to the side to form the desired even vertical outline of the object.

9. We also bend the left side of the bookmark to the opposite side. It will be slightly longer.

10. We open the bent parts and in the lower left corner there is a "pocket" into which we pass the right part of the craft. The upper corner of the left side of the pencil can be glued for better hold.

We turn it over and get an interesting and original bookmark for a favorite book and textbooks for the school. Such bookmarks are very easy and quick to make, so by the first of September you can make them for your friends as a holiday gift.

What you need to create an origami pencil bookmark:

• a strip of colored paper (cut along a sheet of A4 or other format);

How to make an origami pencil:

If you cut a sheet of A4 paper along and take one half, then you get a strip of the right size for creating a craft. Mandatory with back side the leaf should be white, that is, the paper should be one-sided.

Turn the workpiece with the white side towards you.

Fold the paper in the middle, lifting the bottom end of the sheet up to reveal the colored side. Do not bring the edge of the paper to the sharp tip of the pencil 1 to 2 cm.

Rotate the workpiece again. Fold along the right and left sides.

The pencil-bookmark is ready. All that remains is to properly iron (smooth out) the folded sides, or even glue them neatly if the paper is thick and diverges.
