Charming sheep made of cotton buds, threads, cotton wool, napkins. A craft in the form of a lamb with your own hands can be made by a baby of any age, if you use simple, affordable materials for this and simple techniques work.

At the same time, the most simple option, of course, the application "sheep" will become. will become a worthy decoration of any room, a gift for loved ones and even a variant of a competitive work, if you put more imagination into it and give it a little volume.

What element makes a sheep recognizable? Of course, wool! Therefore, in the work you need to focus on it.

The first option: cut out the silhouette of a lamb from white paper, stick it on a dark background. Glue grass cut out of colored cardboard under the character's feet. But to make the body of the sheep voluminous with the help of ordinary cotton wool: lubricating small pieces of the body with glue, put small cotton balls on them. To make the balls more dense and even, we prepare them in advance: we tear off pieces of cotton from the roll and push them into a loosely compressed fist until the fist is tightly packed. Pour the resulting lumps into a container and again fill the cam to the limit. It also turns out interesting from cotton wool.

You can not glue the sheep to the background, but cut it out of very thick cardboard, attach or draw eyes and also paste over with cotton balls. It will turn out beautiful, a little voluminous, a symbol of the New Year.

Such a sheep can decorate a postcard or a poster with New Year's greetings.

You can do without cotton wool. For example, make an applique from symmetrical elements with a wavy edge. To do this: fold a sheet of white or beige paper in half (to match the color of sheep's wool), draw a heart so that its middle falls on the fold of the sheet. We cut out the heart with embossed scissors (if they are not there, then you can cut it out with ordinary scissors, while forming a wavy edge). We do:

  • three of these hearts are larger - for the head and paws;
  • one smaller one - cutting it in half, we get ears;
  • one very small one, made of pink paper - this will be the middle of the ears (we will also cut it in half);
  • one very large - the main one - a heart for the body;
  • two small hearts - additional - also for the body of a lamb.

We begin to assemble the figurine: glue two additional ones on the upper part of the main heart to give the figurine more volume.

In the center of the main heart we glue the head of the lamb, and on both sides of it - the ears, inside which we fix the pink "cores". For the front legs, cut the heart in half and glue them at the level of the middle part of the body, and glue the second heart - the hind legs - down the body.

You can use purchased eyes, you can simply draw them, like a nose.

You can make an application on the old ceiling tiles with a suitable ornament or apply this ornament on white paper himself. To make it voluminous, use baking paints: mix premium flour, white paint and baking powder for dough. After applying the pattern with a syringe or a pastry bag, warm it up a little in the microwave - it will become lush. Postcards with such an ornament look very elegant and New Year's, because the pattern is very reminiscent of winter frosty patterns.

A do-it-yourself sheep can also be made in the form of a figurine, a souvenir. Here are some easy options:

Take a small roll of cotton wool as the basis (body), and attach a paper muzzle and paws to it, which can be made from barbecue sticks, cotton buds, paper.

Cut out the body of the lamb from very thick cardboard or plywood, paint it in Brown color and wrap with woolen threads.

Make a souvenir sheep from cotton buds. To do this, cut out the body and head of the lamb from cardboard, draw a muzzle on the head. We glue the body on both sides with the heads of cotton buds, laying them in even rows. We also make ears and bangs on the head from cotton buds. The legs will be two wooden clothespins, which we fix in the lower part of the body. If you attach a loop on top, you get a beautiful Christmas tree decoration. More charming christmas toys can do .

Like these ones simple ideas can be implemented with your child.

A beautiful hand-made New Year's sheep will be a wonderful gift or addition to a gift for a loved one.

A beautiful hand-made New Year's sheep will be a wonderful gift or addition to a gift for a loved one.

Do you make New Year's crafts with your own hands with the symbol of the New Year? Every year for Chinese calendar has its symbol in the form of an animal. So the next 2015 will be the year of the blue sheep (in another version of the goat). The question may arise: what is the relationship between handmade and symbols of the new year. And the answer is simple. There is a belief that if you donate to New Year a souvenir with an image or in the form of an animal - a symbol of the coming year, then for the whole year, this souvenir will become a kind of talisman that brings good luck and success to its owner. So, if you make such a souvenir with your own hands, and not just buy it in a store, then it will have even more positive energy, due to the part of the soul of the master who created it invested in it. That is why, we advise you to familiarize yourself with our master class of New Year's crafts, sheep - the symbol of 2015. We suggest doing it in mixed media, which will allow you to once again practice the previously acquired skills and knowledge related to various types needlework. Since the technique is mixed, then materials with tools for New Year's crafts will need a variety of:

  • The clay dries quickly in the air. It is also sometimes called hardening modeling paste. It is advisable to purchase one that white color, but if you find a different color, then it’s also not scary, since the hardened product can always be painted later acrylic paints in the right color.
  • Acrylic paints (gouache can also be used, but after drying it can still be smeared, unlike acrylic). Actually, the whole gamut of colors is not required, you only need pink (can be replaced with red) and white.
  • Yarn. Since next year is the year of the blue sheep, better color yarn to choose the appropriate range. In our example, the sectional dyeing thread and it contains both white (natural for sheep) and blue-blue (for the sake of the symbol). The quality and thickness of the thread does not matter.
  • Felt. Blue and white, a little bit of each, you can use leftovers from past handicraft projects.
  • Eyes for toys.
  • Cardboard. It is needed to make a pom-pom. It is not necessary to take a new and good one, you can use some unnecessary cardboard packaging, because after the pompom is ready, the cardboard blank will become unusable.
  • Cord.
  • A ribbon or ribbon is decorative if you plan to make a hanging toy.
  • Sewing threads in the tone of felt.
  • There are two types of glue: “Moment. Crystal" and "hot" silicone glue.
  • Scissors.
  • Needle.
  • Tassel.

New Year's craft the lamb is not done very quickly, since clay is used in the work. Despite the fact that it is considered quick-drying, the hardening rate still depends on the size of the product, the larger the object molded from it, the longer it dries. That is why we recommend starting work on a sheep from the stage of clay modeling. So that while work continues on other parts of the craft, the head (it is she who is molded from clay) has time to dry. Blinding a head for a lamb is easy. First form a ball from a small piece of clay, and then give it the shape of an elongated sheep's muzzle. Make the eye sockets into which the eyes will be glued. If you didn’t find decorative eyes, then you can also make them from clay by rolling two small balls for this and attaching them to the eye sockets. Then, when the workpiece dries, you just paint them, draw a pupil. In addition to the eye sockets on the muzzle of the sheep, push through several grooves to indicate the nose and mouth of the sheep (see photo).
Do not forget to blind the dangling ears of the lamb. Glue them to the head, for this, lightly moisten the parts with water. To get rid of the cracks that have arisen in the clay, also moisten your hands with water and smooth the entire surface of the craft. Get this head. Now it can be put to dry.
We continue the master class on New Year's crafts with our own hands. While the blank of the sheep's head hardens, you can proceed to the manufacture of its body. To do this, you will need to make a pompom, which imitates a shaggy sheepskin in the best possible way. We have repeatedly published articles on our website on how to make a pompom with your own hands. But as they say, “Repetition is the mother of learning,” so we will once again show the stages of its manufacture. First, cut out two identical circles from cardboard. The size of the pom-pom itself will depend on their size, so be guided by the size of the molded head of the sheep so that the pom-pom - the future body of the lamb, looks more or less proportional. To not be too small or too large relative to the head.
Inside each circle, cut out the central part, the smaller this hole, the less fluffy pom-pom you will get, subject to full winding. And vice versa, if the hole is large and then completely filled with yarn, then you get a very lush pompom.
Fold both cardboard blanks with each other, equalizing them at the same time. Wrap with yarn so that the inner hole is almost completely hidden.

Slightly spreading the cardboard, insert scissors between these parts and cut the yarn, exactly in the center.
Put a piece of the same thread in the middle and tie it tightly, wrapping it around several times before.
The cardboard can be removed and the pompom is in front of you. Only until its shape is correct - correct it with scissors.
Since this craft is not planned to become an exact copy of a real sheep, we propose to make the sheep not only legs, but also “handles”, dressing them in winter - in felt boots and mittens. Cut these pieces out of blue felt. Their shape and size are arbitrary. Double each pair.
Cut the cord into four parts of the segment: two longer and two shorter. Tie a knot on one side of each piece.
On the tip of the cord, which is without a knot, sew on both sides the details of the boots (for long pieces) and mittens (for short ones), as shown in the photo.
From white felt, cut out strips large enough to glue over felt boots and mittens. You will get an imitation of a fur edge.
We continue the master class on creating New Year's crafts. Now is the time to check if the lamb's head blank has hardened. If yes, then you can proceed by following our step by step instructions. If not, then you will have to wait for this moment and then continue. So, if the clay was white, then you can safely leave everything as it is, if the color was not suitable, then paint it with paints. Then touch up a little nose, lips and the inside of the ears of the lamb pink. We did not have pink paint in stock, so we had to mix white and red to the desired shade.
Using Moment glue, glue the sheep's eyes. For this purpose, this glue is suitable.
But the head itself should be glued to the body (pompom) with “hot” glue, since the “Moment” will not cope here. To do this, heat up a special glue gun well and apply softened hot glue to the pompom, slightly pushing the protruding threads apart.
If you plan to hang this New Year's lamb somewhere, then cut off a ribbon of a suitable length for you and glue this ribbon first, and then the lamb's head on top. In the same way, glue the legs and “handles” of the lamb, and the knots will help in that the gluing area increases due to them and over time the lace will not come off.
Our master class on creating New Year's crafts with our own hands has come to its logical conclusion. The sheep is ready. You can give it to someone as a souvenir, or you can keep it for yourself and it will become a good talisman for 2015.
