Home decor ideas for the new year. DIY Christmas balls: fireworks of brilliant ideas

The New Year is upon us! Christmas ball parade!
Christmas balls from fabric

To create a New Year's ball from fabric, you will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of about 7 centimeters;
- colored synthetic fabric;
- a lot of safety pins;
- a string of white beads;
- scissors, thermal gun.

Christmas balls from fabric step by step:

Cut the fabric into squares with sides about 5 centimeters. For a special texture, it is desirable to use squares of two shades (photo 2).

To simplify the workflow, draw median lines directly on the foam ball. In total, you need to make eight lines located at an angle of 45 degrees to each other (photo 3).

Take a piece of fabric and fold it in half, then in half again. Attach the square to the axis of the intersection of the median, pin with a safety pin (photo 4).

Also fold squares of a different color into four parts and pin each ball crosswise to the surface (through one median) (photo 5).

This is followed by a layer of squares that need to be pinned similarly to the first, but stepping back a little from the center and closing the gaps (missing medians) (photo 6). Continue pinning the fabric squares to the balloon until you cover exactly half the surface of the balloon (Pic 7). It is desirable to make the second half monophonic (photo 8).

On the back side of the surface of the ball, glue a thread of beads with hot glue, twist this element in a spiral (photo 9). While working on the beads, a cobweb of glue may remain - this is not scary. After a few minutes, when the glue is completely dry, the cobweb can be easily removed (photo 10).

New Year's ball of fabric is ready! As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this technique. With great desire and perseverance, you will receive an originally decorated Christmas tree.

New Year's patchwork ball.

To make a New Year's patchwork ball, you will need:

Scraps of fabric;
- foam ball blank (any size);
- pins;
- felt-tip pen / pen;
- tape measure / centimeter;
- glue stick;
- wooden skewer;
- dummy knife, compasses, scissors;
- lace, ribbon, etc. for decorating the ball.

New Year's patchwork ball step by step:

Take a foam ball as a basis, in this case 60 mm in diameter. Using a centimeter, mark the center line on the ball, divide the circumference in half, mark with pins - this will be the lower and upper points of the ball (photo 1). Draw another line through these points using a centimeter, dividing the ball into four even parts (photo 2). By analogy, halve each share of the balloon, so you divide the balloon into eight even shares (Pic 3).

Now draw a transverse line down the center of the ball. To do this, divide each line from the lower and upper points of the ball (where it was marked with pins) in half, and draw a transverse line along the marks (photo 4-5).

Next, take a compass, set it first at the top of the ball, draw a circle, then do the same on the other side (photo 6). As a result, you will get a blank, as in photo 7. Make cuts along all lines (which have been marked) with a clerical knife to a depth of approximately 1-2 cm (photo 8).

You will need two templates, one in the shape of a triangle and the other in the shape of a trapezoid. Draw patterns on paper, adding an allowance of about 7-8 mm. We advise you not to rush and not immediately cut out all the elements. And first, try to cut out one part, and fix it on the ball. It is likely that you will need to adjust the template, increase or decrease the allowance.

In this case, only two types of fabric were used, so 8 triangles and trapeziums were cut from a single-color red fabric and the same number of elements from a fabric with branches (photo 9). To fix small elements, use a glue stick that fixes the fabric parts and prevents them from moving (photo 10).

Then, using a wooden skewer, begin to carefully tuck the excess fabric into the slots, paying due attention to the corners. For convenience, use a large needle with a blunt tip. For large items, a sandwich knife with a rounded tip is suitable (photo 11-12).

By analogy, fill all the details (photo 13). And after a couple of hours, admire the result (photo 14-15). Now it remains only to decorate the ball with ribbons, cords, beads, bells, pompoms, bead caps (photo 16).

Christmas balls from threads.

To create Christmas balls from threads, you will need:

Air balloons
- dense decorative threads or thin multi-colored cords
- PVA glue + a container for glue, in which you will need to make holes
- needle, scissors

Christmas balls from threads step by step:

Take balloon and inflate it to the right size. Tie up. You can crush the ball a little in your hands to make it more round shape.
Thread the needle with decorative thread and poke through the empty plastic glue bottle. This is best done closer to the bottom of the container.

When the thread passes through, pour PVA glue into the container, which will take quite a lot. It is not advisable to dilute it with water.

Using thin ribbon, you can completely soak it in glue (Fig. 3).

Pull the thread through the container with PVA, soaking it entirely with glue, and wind it around the base ball. When winding the thread, the ball must be turned frequently. When doing this, do not forget that the balloon will later need to be removed, so leave some space in the area of \u200b\u200bthe balloon string.

Upon reaching the desired density of the winding of the ball, cut the thread, leaving a small tail to create a loop (for hanging).

Next, the ball should be left to dry completely for 1-2 days or dried with a hairdryer for about 5-10 minutes. After the glue has completely dried, pierce the balloon with a needle and carefully remove it. It is more convenient to do this through the place of its tie. Make a loop from the remaining tail of the thread, tie it to the ball.

Decorate the resulting ball at your discretion. You can color it, sheathe it with sequins and sequins, or leave it without decor.
The ball is ready!

Christmas ball made of fabric

To create these Christmas balls you will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of about 10 cm
- tailor's needles with a metal cap
- three types of fabrics (three colors).

The process of creating Christmas balls from fabric:

First of all, you will need to cut many squares of fabric. If your ball will be 10 cm in diameter, then cut the fabric into 3-inch squares. Make 8 squares from one fabric and 16 squares from 2 other fabrics.

You can also use two small pieces of the first type of fabric so that the foam ball does not show through the first layers. First we will make one half of the ball.

Pin one of the 2 fabric squares to the center of the ball, it may bulge a little, but in any case, the next layer will completely cover it (Fig. 2).

Then take one square of the first material and fold it 4 times to determine its center (Figure 3). In the center of the square from the inside, you need to prick a pin (Fig. 4). Poke a pin with a fabric square into the foam ball (Figure 5). The fabric again needs to be folded in half, pinning the corners (Figure 5).

It is necessary to pin three more fabric squares to the ball (the first material). The result should be a completely closed tissue top (Fig. 6).

Take the squares from the second fabric and start pinning them onto the ball (Figure 7).

Start with 4 squares, which, as it were, are a continuation of the previous layer. Adjust the spacing between layers as desired. In this case, it is about 1 cm. Use something like a template to keep the same distance for all pieces of fabric.

Fasten four more fabric squares between them, as in Figure 9-10.

You can stop at two layers or make a third layer by analogy with the previous one (Fig. 12).

Next, the ball must be turned over and repeat the above steps with the second half of the ball. However, when placing pieces of fabric on the second side of the ball, it is necessary to take into account the first half, but 100% compliance is not necessary, since the joint will be covered with fabric.

So, excess material at the junction of 2 sides can be cut off. After that, you can close the joint with the material of the second layer, decorate with organza ribbon. Pin one end of the ribbon and sew the other.

You can also make a bow from a ribbon, for which the ball can be hung on a Christmas tree.
Glue or sew, as desired.

Artichoke fabric ball. Master Class.

An excellent master class on creating a completely textile ball with your own hands from scratch.

To create a fabric ball using the artichoke technique, you will need:

Base fabric;
- template paper + pencil;
- needle + thread, sewing machine;
- stuffing (synthetic winterizer / cotton wool).

To decorate the fabric ball:

On the lining are two red squares, 8 beige squares 5 * 5 cm in size, 16 squares of the same size, but of a different color (in this case with green stars), 16 squares of the third color.
- beads for decoration.

Artichoke fabric ball step by step:

1. Creation of a fabric ball - the basis.

Prepare a paper pattern (Figure 1). Transfer to the fabric from the wrong side (fig. 2). You will need to create 4 petals. Cut out, do not forget to leave a seam allowance (Fig. 3). Sweep the petals together in pairs (Figure 4-5).

Sew on a typewriter on one side (Fig. 6). As a result, you will get "pockets", as in Figure 7. Fold them together front side(Figure 8-9).

Sweep or rock with pins. Then we grind (Fig. 10-11). Leave a hole on one edge of each petal through which the future ball will turn out and stuff (Fig. 12-13).

Stuff the balloon with filler, and then sew with a blind seam (Figure 14-15). As a result, you will get a ball, as in Figure 16.

2. Ball decoration:

Take all the squares for decor (in addition to those for the lining), fold in half and iron (Fig. 18).

Squares intended for lining - place in the middle of the ball, and pin with pins so that they do not fidget (Fig. 19).

Then take the ironed beige squares (rectangles) and fold them into triangles (Figure 20-21).

Place such a triangle in the middle of the future fabric ball, as shown in Figure 22 and pin it with pins.

Pin the 4th triangle and get the workpiece, as in Figure 23. Start sewing the corners of the triangles. Sew the opposite corners of some triangles (Figure 24), and then others (Figure 25).

Sew a bead for beauty at the junction (Fig. 26). Bring the needle out under the triangles, as shown in Figure 27. And carefully sew the triangles along the edge to the base of the ball (Figure 28).

As a result, you will get, as in Figure 29. By analogy, do the same with rectangles with asterisks. First, fold them in the form of triangles, and then put them on the ball and pin them with pins. Arrange the triangles in the proper order (Figure 30-31). Sew similarly to the previous steps (Fig. 32-34).

Overlay triangles of the third color (Figure 35-38).

As a result, you will get such a half of the ball (Fig. 39), by analogy, make the second one.

After that, cut strips 5 * 10 cm in size and fold them in such a way as in Figure 41. Iron everything. Attach to the ball and pin with pins (Fig. 42). This must be done in order to decorate the sides of the ball.

Once again, cut strips 5 * 10 cm long and fold them as in Figure 43-44.

Overlay these triangles on top of the previous ones, as in Figure 45. Overlap (Figure 46). Pin everything with pins (Fig. 47) and sew (Fig. 49-50).

A cone in kanzashi technique. Master Class.

To create a cone using the kanzashi technique, you will need:

Satin ribbon about 2.5 cm wide (two colors);
- base ball for ping-pong;
- thread, monofilament or thin fishing line;
- thermal gun;
- tweezers;
- a bead or fastening to Christmas tree decorations.

Kanzashi cone step by step:

Initially, cut squares of ribbons of two colors with a side of 2.5 cm and fold them in half into triangular modules (photo

one). One fabric square needs to be fixed on a ping-pong ball, gluing the center and edges well (photo 2). The base ball must be placed on a small jar, for example, from under the cream - so it will not roll on the work surface.

Fold the triangular pieces in half again (Pic 3). Then make the first row - glue four modules at once on the surface of the ball so that it looks like a square (photo 4). Subsequent rows should consist of 2 parts, four modules each.

Glue the second row of modules. Glue the first part of the four modules between the details of the first row (photo 5). And glue the second part between the details of the first part so that the lower part of both parts of the second row is on the same level (photo 6).

Also glue all subsequent rows, alternating the colors of the modules (photo 7-8).

After gluing the penultimate row of modules - glue a piece of satin ribbon, hiding the surface of the ball (as well as at the beginning of the workflow) (photo 9-10). Next, glue the last row of modules (photo 11-12).

An almost finished kanzashi cone needs to be decorated, starting from the top of the Christmas tree toy. Why collect a satin ribbon on a thread and pull it off, forming such a bow (photo 13). Hide the middle of the bow by gluing a Christmas ball holder to it (Pic 14).

The kanzashi cone is ready to decorate the Christmas tree.

Christmas tree ball in kanzashi technique.

To make a ball for a Christmas tree you will need:

Satin ribbon with a width of 2.5 centimeters of the main color (about 2.7 m) + ribbon for spirals (about 1.1 m);
- a ping-pong ball;
- wire, awl;
- decor: sequins, beads, pin, string for hanging;
- thermal gun and all other tools for kanzashestroeniya.

Christmas tree ball in quillig technique step by step:

The base will remain inside the Christmas decoration, so inexpensive ping-pong balls, which are very light, are best suited. The ball tolerates hot glue well, so there is no need to wrap anything and you can glue the "petals" directly on it.

You will also need to securely attach a ribbon for hanging. Of course, you can just glue the bead, but you can also fix it more securely, for which approximately outline the middle on both sides and pierce it through with an awl (photo 1). Then fix the wire with a fixed bead (photo 2). Try on the top (photo 3).

Glue a sequin or other decoration, form the top (photo 5). And start gluing the petals.

1st row: 2 white, 2 red, 2 white, 2 red
2nd row: 1 white, 3 red, 1 white, 3 red
3rd row: increase, glue 2 petals. 2 white, 6 red, 2 white, 6 red

Continue like this without increasing the amount.

In photo 10, it is noticeable that the petals are starting to “crowd” too much, it is clearly necessary to reduce to the original 8 petals. And the last row is also 8. It took 144 petals to make this ball.

You can, of course, take not 8, but 10 petals in the first row, and then the ball will turn out to be more magnificent, since the petals will be attached in a more dense way.

New Year's toys from sequins and beads.

To make Christmas toys you will need:

Styrofoam ball (about 6 cm in diameter);
- sequins and beads;
- needles with pearls.

New Year's toys from sequins and beads step by step:

Sequins on a foam base can be mounted in a chaotic manner using accessories of various colors. So, take a sequin and put it on a needle with a pearl. You can also fasten several sequins of different shapes at once. For example, first put a sequin on the needle blue color in the shape of a snowflake, and blue and / or purple on top.

Start gently sticking the needle into the foam ball, trying to fill its entire surface without gaps. You can go with one sequin on another, but in this case you need to make sure that all the sequins are located at an equal distance from each other.

New Year's toys from sequins and beads are ready!

DIY unbreakable Christmas balls

To create unbreakable toys you will need:

Mouline threads of different colors + needle
- a foam ball, you can cut it out of foam yourself or make it from foil, newspapers, tightly tied with threads. Can be used different materials just make sure the balls don't get too heavy.
- all kinds of decor (you can even use ready-made New Year's applications)

Unbreakable Christmas balls step by step:

The first thing you need to do is wrap the thread around a round blank, for which you take it and start wrapping it crosswise several times. You need to wrap it tightly enough. At the end, fix the end of the thread to prevent unraveling.

Now let's start decorating the ball (here everything will depend on your imagination and the presence of jewelry). If you know how and love to embroider, then you can embroider all kinds of New Year's ornaments. You can also sew a suitable applique to the toy, decorate with beads, beads, fabric flowers.

At the end, do not forget to make a holder for the finished Christmas toy in the form of a rope, for which the ball will be hung on the Christmas tree.

Sweet Christmas balls. Master Class.

To create Christmas balls you will need:

Chocolate glaze;
- Balloons;
- kandurin;
- soft wide brush;
- paper for baking;
- mastic / marzipan;
- wire;
- colander.

Sweet Christmas balls step by step:

Fill a balloon with water, tie it up and send it to the freezer for 24 hours. Melt the chocolate icing and fill it with a bag made of baking paper. Remove the ball from the freezer and remove it from the ice ball formed from the water in the freezer.

Place an ice ball on a sheet of baking paper and paint the ball on all sides with chocolate icing. The icing that accidentally fell not on the surface of the ball, but on the baking paper, after hardening, remove from the paper and reuse.

While the ice will melt and flow through the holes in the chocolate painting - prepare the top for the balls. Twist a loop from the wire, and blind the top from mastic or marzipan. Cover everything with silver / gold kandurin. Connect the top to the ball with melted chocolate.

Note: for pearl and silver balls we recommend using white chocolate icing.

New Year's openwork balls from paper.

We suggest you make such bright, openwork Christmas balls for the New Year that will perfectly fit into the interior or help you decorate the Christmas tree.

To create openwork Christmas balls you will need:

Sheets of thick colored paper A4;
- a knife for artistic cutting;
- needle and thread;
- glue, scissors;
- beads for decoration;
- template (presented at the end of the article).

The process of creating Christmas paper balls:

First of all, you will need to print the templates on paper. If desired, you can proportionally resize the template.

Next, start cutting out patterns with a craft knife. Part of the paper with a pattern can be covered with a sheet of paper in order not to accidentally overwrite the circuit during operation (Fig. 2-4). After cutting the pattern, start cutting out the ball sweep along the contour (Fig. 5).

Now you need to give each part of the cut out diagram a rounded shape, for which you can use a round pencil (Figure 6-7).

Then pierce holes on both sides at the end of each petal (Figure 8).

Roll the cut paper into a ball and glue the edges of the scan (Figure 9).

It remains to make a loop from the thread - and the New Year's ball is ready for hanging.

Christmas ball made of fabric and foam.

To create these Christmas balls you will need:

Styrofoam ball with a diameter of about 7-8 cm;
- satin fabric or other optional;
- braid or ribbon, decorative beads;
- glue gun;
- scissors, knife.

Christmas ball made of fabric and foam plastic step by step:

First of all, mark the ball. Why take a thread, wrap it around and tighten it so that a small groove forms on the ball for further work. The ball can be divided into any number of parts - 4, 6, 8, etc. In this case, it was divided into 4 parts. You can draw lines with a pencil, for convenience.

Next, using a knife / scalpel, make cuts along the marked lines, about 7-8 mm deep. This should be done quite carefully so that the ball does not fall apart in the hands, especially with its small diameter (less than 6 cm).

Cut out petals from fabric big size than the wedges on the styrofoam ball and start tucking the edge of the satin fabric in in a neat manner. First insert to a depth of about 3-5 mm. After you go around the entire contour, cut off the excess fabric and hide the edges. Thus, cover the entire surface of the ball slice by slice.

Then start decorating. Tuck the ends of the beads inside the balloon. Secure the loop with a drop of hot glue. From glue like "Moment" the foam may begin to melt. Stretch the beads tightly to ready-made they didn't chat. And also with the second half of the beads.

Cut the loop of the desired length, drip glue, insert the ponytails, press.

New Year's ball made of fabric and foam is ready!

You can tie a bow, draw snowflakes or glue on sequins!

Such a ball will be a great gift for the New Year!

Decoupage Christmas balls.

To decoupage Christmas balls you will need:

Plastic balls with a diameter of 8 cm;
- three-layer napkins with a pattern;
- acrylic paints of different colors: white, blue, yellow + brush;
- PVA glue;
- acrylic lacquer;
- a little semolina;
- sequins;
- contours on ceramics and glass;
- a piece of sponge for washing dishes;
- plastic board for modeling.

Decoupage Christmas balls step by step:

You can purchase simple balloons without a pattern in any colors (gold, purple, silver, matte or glossy.

Take a ball and a piece of sponge, put a little white paint on the board, blot it into the paint with a sponge and apply it with dotted movements to the ball. Make sure that there is always paint on the sponge, then on the ball you will get the effect of a snow coating.

Paint all the balls in this way, hang them to dry for about an hour.

At this time, prepare napkins. To do this, separate the top bright layer from the white. Carefully cut out the pattern.

Dilute the PVA with water by half and glue the pattern to the ball. Start gluing from the center of the picture, gradually moving towards the edges. Do this action with all motives.

For the bunny balloons, make a light yellow paint and apply it with “bang” movements around the motif on a white background.

After the paint dries, cover the ball with varnish.

Next, we will create a winter effect, for which we take a small amount of white paint and mix it with semolina until a thick porridge is obtained. Using a thin brush, apply to the ball in those places where we will have snow.

Let dry. After that, take varnish and small silver sparkles, and cover the semblance of "snow" first with varnish, and then apply sparkles.

Wool Christmas ball.

In this master class you will see the process of making New Year's woolen balls. The process is quite simple and does not require you to master the skills in felting wool.

At first glance, it may seem that it is very difficult to learn how to felt felt toys. But such beautiful things can be done without certain skills and special tools. However, in this case, you still need to purchase wool from a needlework store, and then you can make exactly such a woolen christmas ball. Children will be delighted with such balls - they can be removed from the branches and played with snowballs right in the apartment!

To make wool Christmas balls you will need:

Wool for felting of different colors;
- synthetic winterizer (another filler ");
- sewing needle + thread, scissors;
- pins with pearls;
- kapron stocking;
- decor at will: beads, sequins.

Wool Christmas ball step by step:

Form a ball from a synthetic winterizer, tie it with threads so that it keeps its shape. Then evenly wrap the synthetic winterizer blank with colored wool for felting, fix it with a felting needle or with ordinary pins.

After you completely wrap the ball with wool, put it in a nylon stocking and tie a knot. All you need is to wash the workpiece in hot water (in washing machine) on the "boiling mode" and squeeze at maximum speed. Then remove the ball from the stocking and dry it.

Start decorating - mark the future drawing with pins. Decorate the ball with woolen threads, fixing them with pins with "pearls", thereby laying out the desired pattern. Fix the resulting decor with sewing threads, while decorating the ball with beads and sequins in the places where the pattern is fixed.

Attach a loop of beads on top of the Christmas ball and you can hang it on the Christmas tree.
Happy Holidays!

Painting a glass ball on a Christmas tree.

To paint the ball you need:

Glass bowl;
- contour on glass and ceramics;
- lacquer-based stained glass paint (here from Hobby Line);
- paint to create pearls (here from Viva Dekor);
- thin synthetic round brushes number 1 or 2 (ideally, each color has its own brush);
- the most inexpensive nail polish remover (acetone);
- cotton pads, rag.

Painting a glass ball on a Christmas tree step by step:

First, think about what you will depict on the ball. Here, elements of lace served as inspiration (photo 2). Draw the pattern with a silver outline. You can first draw a schematic drawing with a washable marker and make sure that the outline is located next to the line, and not on it. During painting, the ball can be placed on a mug or glass - this way it will be fixed and will not turn over (photo 3). Since the ball is round, first paint one part and let it dry (so you don’t accidentally overlap the drawing in the process) (photo 4).

After you have painted the entire surface of the ball and let it dry completely, proceed directly to painting. For this ball, white and blue stained glass lacquer paints were used. For the third color, they were mixed together in a lid (photo 5). Gently drop the paint on a fragment of the picture and stretch it to the edges. The advantages of lacquer paints include fast drying and the complete absence of air bubbles on the surface, which is quite important when painting small elements (photo 6). Let the paint dry before you start painting the adjacent element so that the paints do not mix (photo 7).

Slowly paint the entire surface of the glass ball. Let it dry by hanging somewhere, just first make sure that the paint does not flow (photo 9). Decorate the balloon with paint to create pearls (Pic 10). Put drops of different sizes where you want. Let dry.

Remove paint brushes with nail polish remover and cotton pads. By changing the color of the outline and paints, you can paint a couple more balls.

Christmas ball decoration with polymer clay.

To create such a ball you will need:

Clay of two colors (in this case, red + white);
- glass ball;
- two 18-inch planks about 2x4 long;
- extruder;
- waxed paper;
- glue;
- rope / ribbon for hanging.

We decorate the Christmas ball with polymer clay step by step:

Drill a hole in the top of the bar, which should be slightly larger than your extruder. Fasten the two strips and attach with a connecting loop. Next, you need to close the slats and create a shallow hole in the bottom slat in the same place. This way you will prevent the piston from slipping. To use this design, simply insert an extruder with clay into it.

Then put together two pieces of clay of different colors and wrap them in wax paper, the ends of which should be slightly longer than the “sausages” (Figure 8-9).

Now, with the help of an extruder, you need to extrude two-color clay stripes (Fig. 10). Then clean the piston from the extruder and proceed to the next step (Figure 11).

Take one of the thin strips you made and lay it out on your work surface. Cut off one end and begin to twist into a spiral (Figure 13).

Then place the twisted helix of clay at the bottom center of the glass ball and gradually start winding this strip around the ball in a spiral (Figure 13-14). Use glue to hold the clay on the surface of the ball. When you cover half of the ball, carefully cut off the end of the "sausage".

It is easier to work with clay in a non-raw form, so hang the ball on wooden stick or a toothpick, and place the ball itself in a glass container and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at a temperature of 265F. After the ball has cooled, pull out its iron top-mount and continue wrapping it with clay.

Continue until the surface of the ball is completely covered with clay. Try to connect the "clay sausage" as clearly and evenly as possible. Then replace the iron ball mount and bake for 30 minutes.

Ready ball decorate with a beautiful bow!

Factory Christmas decorations is in almost every home. They are certainly very beautiful and, when well combined with other decorations in the house, can cause a worthy aesthetic effect. But just buying Christmas balls is boring. Uniqueness can be achieved only by making the decor of Christmas balls with your own hands.

Christmas balls from threads

The method of making balls from threads has long been used. Products are spectacular, amenable to additional decor. It is possible to vary the size.

For manufacturing, you will need: threads (with a large percentage of natural fibers in the composition for good impregnation with glue), PVA glue, a disposable cup, round balloons.
Manufacturing steps:

  • Prepare glue for work. Strongly thick dilute to a state of sour cream density.
  • Inflate the balloon to the extent that the size of the toy is planned.
  • Soak 1 m lengths of thread in glue.
  • Wrap in a "cobweb" way so that free holes do not exceed a diameter of 1 cm.
  • Allow the glue to dry (12 to 24 hours).
  • Remove the ball from the product, carefully bursting it and taking it out through the hole in the ball.
  • Decorate the product. To do this, use: glitter, paper cuttings different shapes, sequins, beads, half beads, etc. Thread products can also be dyed with balloon paint or acrylic. Watercolor and gouache are not suitable, as they can soak the product and lead to its damaged appearance.

Having made Christmas balls of different diameters, they can decorate any corner of the house: a Christmas tree, candlesticks, compositions in a vase, on a windowsill, etc. The decor of the balls can be done as follows: put a light garland on a tray, put on top products of different sizes, but of the same color. When the garland is on, they will be highlighted and create an interesting effect.

From beads

Balls made of beads will look very beautiful and impressive on the Christmas tree. In this case, the foam spheres of the blanks will be decorated. In addition to the foam blank, you will need beads, pins (sewing needles with hats, like on carnations), ribbon.

The manufacturing method is very simple:

  • String one bead onto one pin.
  • Attach the pin to the foam base.
  • Repeat the steps until there is no free space left on the basis.
  • At the end, attach a ribbon loop for hanging the decoration.

It is advisable to take beads of the same size in order to avoid empty spaces on the base. The color scheme is chosen both in one tone and in different ones. It all depends on individual preferences and the general style of decorating the room.
Instead of a foam base, you can use factory-made plastic balls. Only here the beads will be fastened in this case not on pins, but on hot glue.

From buttons

Button balls will look no less original and unique on the Christmas tree. Old unnecessary buttons do not have to be picked up in one color scheme. After all, they can always be repainted and achieve the desired shade. They look spectacular in gold, bronze, silver shades, as well as all colors with a metallic coating.

To make such a decor for Christmas balls, you will need: buttons (it is possible with through fastening and hidden), hot melt adhesive, foam or plastic blank, tape.

  • Apply a small amount of hot glue to the inside of the button.
  • Attach a button to the base.
  • Repeat step 2 until the entire surface is covered with buttons.
  • Attach a ribbon so that the ball can be hung.

When placing on a Christmas tree, you need to make sure that there are not too many of them concentrated in one place. It is better to dilute such decorations with others.

From paper

Original Christmas balls can be made simply from paper, without using any base.

To do this, you need thick (about 120 g / m2) paper, scissors, clips, tape. Making your own is very easy.

  • Cut paper into 12 strips 15 mm x 100 mm
  • Fasten all the strips on one and the other side with pins, stepping back from the edge by 5-10 mm.
  • Spread the strips in a circle, forming a sphere.
  • Attach the ribbon to the base of the ball.

Strips can be cut not straight, but with other uneven lines. You can use curly scissors.

Corrugated paper

Corrugated paper will also come in handy. It is made from pom-pom balls. For this you will need: corrugated paper, glue, scissors, tape.

  • If the paper is new and packaged, then 5 cm must be measured from the edge and cut off. Then again measure 5 cm and cut off.
  • Cut two blanks with a “comb” with an interval of 1 cm strips without cutting to the base of 1.5 cm.
  • Dissolve one blank and start twisting the “flower” in a circle, gradually gluing. Get a fluffy pom-pom. Repeat the same steps with the second piece.
  • Connect two pom-pom blanks with glue at the place of gluing. Get a fluffy ball. Attach the tape-loop to the place of gluing. Fluff the resulting pompom.

Double sided colored paper

You can also make a ball out of double-sided colored paper. For this you need: colored paper, scissors, glue, a round object (a cup, for example), tape.

  • Circle the cup on paper 8 times. You will get 8 equal circles. Cut them out.
  • Fold each circle in quarters.
  • Cut an additional circle with a smaller diameter.
  • Glue the blanks to it with the corners to the center on one side (4 pieces will fit), and on the other side it’s the same.
  • Open each fold and glue at the junction with each other. Get a ball with "petals".
  • Attach tape.

Paper balls usually do not last long and are used for one season. Place them in in large numbers it is not worth it on the Christmas tree, it is better to “dilute” with other decorations.

From fabric

If there was an old blouse in the closet that it is a pity to throw away, then the refusal to dispose of it was right decision. You can make a cute Christmas toy out of it. For manufacturing you need: knitted fabric, scissors, a sewing needle with thread, cardboard, ribbon.

  • Cut as long as possible strips of fabric 1 cm wide. Stretch each strip so that it twists the edges.
  • Cut a 10 cm x 20 cm piece of cardboard.
  • Wrap the resulting strips on the cardboard in width.
  • In the center on one side and the other, connect the strips with a needle and thread. Pull out the cardboard.
  • Cut the formed loops along the edges.
  • Fluff up and attach the ribbon.

There is another way, which involves decorating a foam or plastic blank with a cloth. Any fabric needed different color), hot glue, scissors.

  • Cut the fabric into rectangular pieces, 3 cm x 4 cm in size.
  • Fold them like this: turn the two upper corners to the center of the bottom.
  • Glue to the workpiece in rows, bending inward starting from the bottom.
  • Cover the entire ball. Attach tape.

Fabric applications can be made in a variety of ways, using additional improvised means - beads, braid, rhinestones, ribbon.

With embroidery

Decorating Christmas balls with your own hands is also possible in this way. A new trend has become the design of decorations for the Christmas tree with embroidery. To do this, use a pre-embroidered image. You also need a fabric, a blank made of foam or plastic, hot melt adhesive.

  • Attach the embroidered image with glue.
  • Decorate the rest of the ball with a fabric appliqué.

Instead of appliques, you can use the same fabric on which the embroidery was made. Alternatively, you can make a pattern out of fabric, where one of the parts will be embroidery. You can also decorate each part of the pattern with separate embroidered images and secure. After these steps, you can additionally add beads, rhinestones, sparkles, sequins as decor.

with filling

Such specimens will look spectacular both on the Christmas tree and as part of compositions from balls. To make unusual balls, you need to stock up on plastic transparent blanks.

By opening the hat-holder, you can create various compositions inside:

  • Pour inside acrylic paint of different colors, shake the ball so that all the inner walls are painted, let dry. The pigment will color the workpiece inside and it will acquire a unique color.
  • Fill the inside with small colored feathers and beads.
  • You can also fill the inside with confetti of different colors.
  • Pieces of old tinsel are used for filling.

  • Favorite photos are also placed inside. To do this, twist into a tube small photo(look at the diameter of the ball) and straighten it inside. Top with confetti or sequins.
  • The inside is filled with colored cotton wool and complemented with beads. You can choose different colors. It is better to paint in acrylic paint. Fill after complete drying of the cotton wool.
  • Multi-colored sisal can be placed inside and enjoy the color and originality of the decoration.

Fantasies about filling a transparent ball can be different. All of them relate to personal preferences and mood during needlework.

With various decorations

You can attach anything to the blanks. Here are some ideas:

  • Tapes. Various patterns can be made from ribbons (geometric themes, monograms, stripes, etc.). Attach them with hot glue.
  • Sequins. Sequin braid is wound around the circumference and fastened with hot glue. You can choose several colors to combine.

  • Braid. Various braid from any material is also suitable for decorating Christmas balls.
  • Lace. It can be supplemented with semi-beads or rhinestones. The organza ribbon will also go well with the lace.
  • Paper cuttings. Various figures made with a figured hole punch will decorate any ball.
  • Felt cuttings. Attached cutting-figures of various subjects will be conveniently placed with glue from a thermal gun.
  • Old jewelry. Lost earrings or unnecessary brooches in combination with other decorative elements will add a special glamor to the jewelry.

The history of toys. How did the Christmas ball come about?

Christmas and New Year are shrouded in many legends and legends. One of them is about the appearance of Christmas balls.

Ancient peoples believed that spirits inhabited the branches of trees, affecting the harvest and soil fertility. To gain their favor, the sacred tree (apple tree) was decorated with vegetables, fruits, and a celebration was held around it with songs and dances.

This tradition was adopted by the Europeans. An evergreen spruce became a ritual tree - oranges, gingerbread, nuts and even eggs were hung on it, but an apple remained the most accessible and popular decoration.

In the second half XVI century there was a terrible crop failure, there were few apples. And then the German glass blowers from Thuringia came up with the idea to replace the fruit with glass balls, which the townspeople fell in love with at first sight. This is how the first Christmas tree balls appeared, with which we still decorate our houses with pleasure.

1. Glass ball decor

Necessary materials : a transparent ball of plastic or glass, filling of your choice, an eyelet and a ribbon for a bow

The easiest way to create a unique Christmas tree decoration is to buy transparent Christmas tree decoration balls made of plastic or glass (for example, on ozon.ru) and fill them with tinsel, moss, large beads, paper stars, feathers, small cones, spruce branches. We make a loop from a ribbon, twine or thick thread and decorate a metal cap with an elegant bow.

2. Decor with acrylic paint and marker

Necessary materials : clear glass ball, acrylic paint and glass and ceramic marker, plastic bottle/cup

Painting New Year's toys by hand is a real art. But the lack of art education does not mean that you can not take on paints or markers. To avoid uneven strokes and other problems, paint the Christmas ball ... from the inside. Yes, yes, that is also possible. To do this, drop some acrylic paint inside (it looks especially luxurious with sparkles) and twist the toy until you achieve the desired result.

Then turn it over, fix it on a bottle or glass (so that excess paint flows out) and leave it for a day. On the outside, you can draw something with a special marker or write wishes on next year. Voila! You are a brilliant artist who did not even need a brush.

3. Decor with sequins and beads

Necessary materials : foam ball, sequins or beads, carnation pins, polymer glue, accessories (metal cap for the ball and tape)

Balls decorated with sequins or beads will make any Christmas tree sparkle and shine in the light of New Year's lights. Each sequin needs to be attached to the foam ball with a sewing pin. To avoid gaps, pin overlap.

Working with beads is not much more difficult. Here you can experiment and string several beads of different sizes on each pin at once. Then we glue the fittings, make a loop and hang our beauty on the Christmas tree.

Necessary materials : foam ball, lace details, PVA glue, acrylic paint in two colors, sponge, polymer glue, accessories

To make an exquisite vintage Christmas tree ball, glue the lace details to the base with PVA glue. Then cover it acrylic paint first one color and then another. It is advisable to choose a contrasting pair: for example, white and bronze. In the final, we go over the surface with a sponge to create the effect of aging, and attach the accessories. It seems to us that such a ball is a great addition to a gift.

5. A ball of thread, rope or twine

Necessary materials : balloon, thick thread, rope or twine, PVA glue, glue container, polymer glue, accessories

You can glue accessories to it, decorate it with sequins, beads, rhinestones, or cover it with spray paint. A simple but sophisticated piece of decor is ready.

6. Decor with acorns and cones

Necessary materials : styrofoam ball, natural materials(cones, acorn caps), acrylic paint, wire cutters, polymer glue or glue gun, accessories

Cones, acorns and other gifts of the forest are associated with nature. Why not use them instead of endless plastic and others artificial materials for decorating Christmas balls? For example, you can paint a toy with brown acrylic paint and use a hot glue gun to decorate it with acorn caps. Another option is to glue the ball with separate scales or tops of cones. How to make Christmas decorations (video master class 21 ideas):

Today we showed how to make Christmas balls with our own hands, without extra financial and time costs, such beautiful jewelry definitely will not go unnoticed, and your friends will certainly appreciate all your efforts.

The symbol of the New Year is a fir tree with lights and balls. Do you know that balls can be made from threads, felt, sequins, disks, and even with citrus flavor? Decoupage technique can update even the most nondescript toy. About ideas that you did not even know about, further in the article with a detailed description.

Basic moments

Absolutely any materials are suitable for needlework:

As a basis, you can take a foam sphere or a simple Christmas tree ball made of plastic without decorations. We bring to your attention several master classes in the manufacture of Christmas balls. They can not only decorate the Christmas tree, but also create a festive interior in the house.

Christmas balls from threads

Thread balls look very gentle and impressive, evoking a festive and romantic mood.

For work you will need:

  • round balloon;
  • PVA glue;
  • thick threads (light shades);
  • needle;
  • scissors.

Operating procedure

We inflate so that the size matches the desired size of the future toy. We tie it tightly so that it does not come down ahead of time. We massage with our hands, giving it the correct round shape.

We pass the edge of the thread into the eye of the needle, from which we will make the decoration. We pierce the needle through the plastic bottle with glue and thread the thread. The thread, passing through the bubble, will be evenly covered with PVA, which eliminates the need to additionally open all the threads with glue.

PVA glue is best used undiluted, otherwise the ball will not hold the desired shape.

Now we stretch the thread through the glue and at the same time wind it in different directions, as if winding the threads into a ball. We turn the ball intensively in our hands, trying to wrap the thread tightly. In the place where the air is tied, we slightly reduce the tension.

We wind the thread to the desired density. We cut the thread, and form a loop at the tip. We leave the workpiece in a dry, warm place until the glue has completely dried. You can speed up the drying process by using a hair dryer.

When completely dry, pierce and carefully pull out.

We tie a thread or decorative ribbon to the eyelet and decorate the Christmas tree.

Optionally, you can add a thread toy with sparkles, beads, sequins or other decor. A composition of several different diameters looks especially beautiful.

From newspaper tubes

Pretty simple, but time-consuming method of manufacture.

For work you will need:

  • foam blank-ball;
  • polymer glue;
  • old newspapers;
  • scissors;
  • decorative elements (beads, sequins, ribbons).
Operating procedure

The most time-consuming stage is the twisting of flagella from old newspapers. We try to twist the harnesses tightly. If you need a long tourniquet, then glue together several short ones.

In the center of the workpiece we attach the end of the flagellum. Now we begin to tightly lay the tube, securing each new turn with polymer glue. The edge of the tube is also securely fixed with a glue gun.

In this form, the product can be used to decorate holiday decorations. And you can go further and paint it with spray paints in any color, cover it with sparkles, beads, ribbons, etc.

Christmas toys made of felt

In winter, you always want warmth and comfort, so felt is perfect for decorating your home for the New Year.

For work you will need:

  • felt of two colors;
  • foam ball;
  • cardboard;
  • pencil;
  • scissors;
  • decorative tape;
  • pins-nails.

Operating procedure

First you need to draw and cut out of cardboard two identical patterns of a simple flower with five petals. Only one template should be slightly smaller.

We put the pattern on the felt, circle it with a pencil along the contour. We make large blanks from one color, and smaller ones from another. Depending on the diameter, we need from 20 pieces of blanks of each color.

Now we fold the patterns in pairs, placing the petals in a checkerboard pattern. We cut off about 10 centimeters of a thin decorative tape, glue its edges to the foam blank, forming a loop. Now tightly to each other, bending the top of the petals, we attach each flower to the foam plastic in the center with carnations.

The result is bright and soft.

From sequins

Truly festive sparkling balls can be made from sequins. This decorative material has a wide range. Sequins come in different sizes, shapes and colors.

Large sequins can be glued to any, without convex patterns, using a glue gun. We apply glue to the ball itself, sequentially gluing the sequins in a circle in a checkerboard pattern.

Try to cover the holes for attaching the sequins so that they are not visible on the finished toy.

To work with small sequins, the usual one will not work, but you will need a special foam blank of the desired diameter. In the center of each sequin there are holes through which we will attach the sequins to the workpiece with special carnations.

Combining various forms and colors of sequins, you can create the most bizarre patterns. Design options will tell you fantasy or little helpers.

The main thing is to fasten the sequins close to each other so that the white base does not shine through (it is imperative to provide and secure the fastening loop).

Another option for decorating balls is sequin ribbons. We also glue them with hot glue, carefully placing the turns slightly overlapping so that there are no gaps. You can make it monophonic or alternate turns of several colors.

At the base of the mount, a bow made of a beautiful iridescent ribbon will look beautiful. The product will add charm glued on top of a decorative beaded or twisted cord.

Decoupage technique

Festive ones made using decoupage technique look very elegant and cute. The technique is very simple, but requires accuracy.

For work you will need:

Operating procedure

First you need to paint. Pour a little white paint into the container, remove the top cap and begin to cover the surface with paint with a sponge. We put the finished one on a skewer and leave it to dry, placing the structure in a glass.

In order not to throw away paint residues, you can make several balls at once. The drawing can be selected with various New Year's characters: gnomes, fairies, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden, angels, deer, etc.

With an interval of 1 hour, we apply two more layers of paint to completely cover the color of the base. While the paint dries, we prepare napkins for decoupage. We iron them, unfold them. Carefully cut off the necessary fragments with drawings on a napkin, remove the thin top layer with the image.

Pour a little PVA into a small container, dilute it with water in a ratio of 1: 1. We attach one of the fragments to the ball, we begin to glue it with a fan brush, starting from the center to the edges of the picture. We are trying to smooth out all the folds to get a smooth surface. Thus, we glue all the desired fragments onto the ball, moving in a circle.

Ready to dry completely, put on hats with laces. We open with acrylic glossy transparent varnish in 3-4 layers. On a still damp varnish, you can sprinkle with sparkles for more shine.

It will be of interest to you:

Bright and mirror

For work you will need:

  • transparent ball on the Christmas tree;
  • hot glue;
  • scissors;
  • satin ribbon or piece of brocade;
  • old discs.

Operating procedure

Cut the disks into small pieces of different shapes with scissors.

We take a transparent Christmas ball, apply a drop of glue, glue a piece of the disc to this place with the overflowing side out. Thus, we create a mosaic of iridescent pieces, leaving small gaps between them.

We remove the hat, push a piece of brocade or a piece of bright satin ribbon through the hole inside the ball. We return the hat to its place, hang the ball on the Christmas tree.

There is another way to use old disks for decoration. Christmas decorations. IN In this case, crumbs from disks are used.

To obtain crumbs, grind the disks cut into pieces in an old unnecessary blender, sift through a sieve. The glitter will be sifted, and all the plastic will remain in the sieve.

Now we coat the round blank with glue, dip it with the entire surface in the resulting shine. After the glue dries, brush off any excess gloss with a brush.
