How to relax halally: how undeveloped is the tour industry for Muslims in Russia? Living in infidel countries and refusing to move to any of the Muslim countries for the sake of preserving their religion It is good in Russia, but abroad it is better.

Assalam aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatukhu, dear sisters!
In today's article, I want to talk about how we visited the Maldives a couple of weeks ago. I usually write about the hotel, public places and attractions. But today I want to write about something completely different.

I was 6 years old when I first watched the program "In the world of animals", they showed the Maldives and the living creatures of the underwater world of this place. How surprised I was by this footage, SubhanAllah! Time passed, and the dream of visiting these islands did not leave me. Pictures from the Maldives have always fascinated me, and I wondered if there are such places on Earth created by Allah? And now my dream has come true, glory to Allah!

What kind of state is the Maldives?
Just imagine, a state in which more than 99.66% of the territory is occupied by ocean waters. The remaining 0.34% of the land is 1190 coral islands, and only 1/6 of them are inhabited by people.
Such a unique geographical location could not but affect the development of infrastructure and culture. After all, the Maldives are nothing more than a collection of isolated territories surrounded by water. Each (!) Inhabited island, even if it is the smallest, has its own mosque, power plant, sewage treatment system, desalination system, television tower and a huge refrigerator for storing food supplies.

By religion, 98% of the Maldives belong to the Sunnis, the largest and most traditional Islamic movement, that is, almost all residents are Muslims.

So, we arrived early in the morning by plane, flew through Dubai. This time the children stayed with their beloved grandparents, so my husband and I enjoyed the flight and the views from the porthole window and did not think about anything. We arrived in the capital of the Maldives - the city of Male. I can't say anything about him, since we immediately left for the island that we had chosen in advance for a week's stay - the island of Maafushi.

In general, there are two types of islands for tourists: a resort island and islands where the local population lives.

The island - a resort is a small island that can be slowly walked around in 15-20 minutes around the perimeter, and there is only one hotel on this island. And areas for service personnel. Everything. In general, for the majority of Russian non-Muslim tourists leaving for the Maldives, the fact that the country is deeply Muslim is a big surprise. But another fact becomes even more unexpected - there are no norms for the import of alcohol at all, that is, it is impossible to bring alcohol to the Maldives, as well as to buy it already on the island where the local population lives. Except for these resort islands. There, alcohol is served in the public domain - specifically for tourists. There are also animation programs and music discos. There are a lot of Russian tourists on these islands.

And the second type of islands are islands where the local Muslim population lives. On one such we lived - the island of Maafushi.

SubhanAllah, frankly speaking, for the first time I experienced incredible surprise from everything I saw. I'll start in order:

1. White sandy beaches, coconut palms and crystal clear water, juicy greens - all this left a colossal shock in my memory. Mashallah, looking at all this, my heart literally "burst" with delight. It is impossible to describe, these miracles of Allah must be seen with your own eyes at least once in your life! “Allahu akbar” was all I could say, looking at all this beauty.

Of course, having arrived from a country where it is -15C, we wanted to swim immediately, but the most interesting thing happened when we asked where the Muslim beach was.
We were told that the beach for Muslims is everywhere, and for non-Muslims there is a separate area with a high opaque fence. And the fact that swimming in an open swimsuit is possible only on this beach, and in other territory it is prohibited - only in burkini.

Mashallah, I am used to the fact that Muslims are fenced off separately, I was surprised that on this island I can swim wherever I want and I will not be afraid to meet women with naked aurat, subhanAllah!

The water in the ocean is very warm, and the shores seem to be created for the convenience of swimming. The sun is high, almost always at its zenith. The air is warm, the wind is pleasant. The weather is very comfortable, mashallah.

2. The island of Maafushi is home to approximately 2,500 indigenous Muslims. And 2 mosques were built for 2500 people. Azan is heard everywhere: in a hotel, on the shore, in a store, on the street. I didn't even open the application with prayer times, it just isn't needed there. Only a deaf person will not hear the adhan, which simultaneously walks from the minarets of two mosques.

I would like to tell you separately about the mosque. These are the most beautiful and cleanest buildings on the island. Nowhere else have I met such a reverent attitude towards the "house" of Allah. They go barefoot in mosques, even in toilets (!). Toilets are a separate topic. The cleanest, with all the comforts. This became a revelation for me, caused incredible respect for the inhabitants of the Maldives, and I felt incredibly ashamed of the state of our toilets in the mosques of Kazan.
Everywhere on the island it smells delicious, whether it is air fresheners, or whether it is flowers and greens that smell so sweet, I still did not understand.

There are a lot of people in the mosques, there are 3-4 rows of believers for the morning prayer. We went to namaz in mosques, they just beckon to themselves, with their beauty, purity and peace.

3. Lack of music on the island. Generally. We were in a “halal” hotel in Turkey a couple of years ago, loud music gave me a headache almost every day. Immediately I was surprised at my calmness and serenity. There is only one "music" on the island - adhan. There are no discos, animation programs in hotels, musical evenings, even on the beach, non-Muslims have no music.

4. Complete absence of alcohol and "halal" food. The import of alcohol and pork is prohibited on the island. All meat on the island is halal. I would also like to tell you about food. Basically, there is a lot of fish on the menu - tuna, reef fish and seafood. Wonderful, tasty fish and cheaper than beef or chicken. Everything is the other way around in Russia, this kind of fish is very expensive, so for almost a week I ate only fish for future use. Lots of vegetables and fruits. Delicious fruits: mango, papaya, coconut. Exotic fruits are inexpensive (when compared with prices in Russia). Everything else - clothes, souvenirs, cosmetics - are expensive, it is better to take your own. The food is fresh, it can be seen that it has been cooked to the fullest. There was no indigestion, alhamdullilah.

5. Excursions. The main entertainment in the Maldives is to travel to different islands. We went to the island of Biadu and Wadu. These are resort islands.

Byadu is a beautiful island with a lot of greenery, rich in different birds, crabs and other animals. With a very beautiful underwater view. There I had to do snokling for the first time.

Snokling - swimming with a mask and a snorkel over the water. Incredible views open up, mashallah! I swam next to such beautiful fish! Purple, pink, black, silver and even light green! What kind of creatures of Allah have I not seen there, SubhanAllah! This is such a beauty!

Vadu Island is a typical resort island, with a small area but a large freshwater pool.
You arrive on the excursion early in the morning by boat and they pick you up in the evening, after sunset.

6. Local residents. Actually, all week I was engaged in watching them. Calm, measured, smiling and hospitable. All women are wearing hijabs, and even girls aged 7-8 are already wearing headscarves. Every day I watched the schoolgirls who ran to classes in multi-colored headscarves and for the first time regretted that my daughter was not with me, she would see that there are schools where all the girls are in hijabs, and even on the street in 30C heat, they play and running around with their heads covered. Women are mainly engaged in raising children and at home, mostly men.

In general, for the first time I saw how people live and rely on Allah. We're running somewhere, trying to make money more money, buy a bigger apartment, a dacha, better than a neighbor's, a more expensive fur coat, a more modern car. And somewhere people live on a small island and thank Allah 5 times a day all together, for not being flooded, for having fish, tourists who bring at least a small income. Women protect their awrah, keep away from unfamiliar men, give birth a lot, bring up conscientiously. Men work diligently, behave very restrainedly with tourists (unlike Turks or Egyptians), do not cheat. Everyone prays 5 times a day, avoiding the forbidden, SubhanAllah, as much as they can. Living there, I was once again convinced that happiness is to live according to the laws of Islam. The laws of Islam are the most correct laws established by God. It is impossible not to love them. And the people of the Maldives once again proved it to me.

After a trip to the Maldives to the island of Maafushi, where local Muslims live, I realized that this is a Sharia holiday. There you rest not only with your body, but also with your soul! Once again you are convinced of the greatness of our Creator! After all, no one else could create a more harmonious and beautiful world! This place cannot be compared either with Turkey, or with Egypt, not with Dubai! This is a completely different vacation.

I did not write anything about the hotel where we lived. Just because it really doesn't matter which hotel to stay in, so much it becomes secondary. But our hotel was very clean, the breakfasts were delicious and filling, and the staff were very friendly!

Many people write to me and ask how we got there, because ordinary operators do not sell tickets to local islands, but only to resort islands? I answer: we drove through. Now, a voucher for one person costs 59,900 rubles, this cost includes:

Flight
- accommodation in a 3 * hotel;
- breakfast buffet;
- meeting at the airport.
- transfer to the hotel after arrival.

A boat arrives for you directly to the airport and takes you to Maafushi.
Why do I advise you to go to Maafushi and not to the resort island:
- no alcohol and pork, all food is "halal".
- lack of entertainment activities with music.
- two mosques.
- Muslim beaches.
- few Russian-speaking tourists.
- women in a closed awrah.
- beautiful beach and nature.
- many restaurants with inexpensive and fresh food (lunch or dinner on the ocean shore will cost you around 500 rubles per person).
- friendly locals. An opportunity to see and study the life and everyday life of ordinary Maldivians. Indeed, in the Qur'an (49:13), it is said: “O people, Truly, We created you out of man and woman and made you peoples and tribes, so that you would recognize each other, and the most revered of you is the most God-fearing Truly, Allah-Knowing , Master ".
Mashallah!

Aisha-Galina Babich - about the peculiarities of Islamic rest and the problem of burkini

Last weeks nature does not please the inhabitants of central Russia with sunny days, and many rush to the warm sea shores. There are more and more Muslims among vacationers. However, in our country, the halal industry, no matter how much talk about it, remains undeveloped. The journalist and columnist of Realnoe Vremya Aisha-Galina Babich in today's author's column shares her thoughts on the segment of tourism for adherents of Islam and dwells on such details as burkini - a Muslim swimsuit.

"I bathed in a dress, trousers and a scarf ..."

Many years ago, in a high-mountainous village in Dagestan, several of my Muslim friends invited me to go to the river for a swim. I was extremely surprised, because until that moment I believed that a Muslim woman was not destined to swim in a cool pond in this life, since men are not allowed around, a swimsuit is not allowed, and there are no more ponds and rivers on the planet where no human has stepped foot.

But then they took me to the river: it was narrow, so you could jump over, and not deep. I bathed in a dress, trousers and a scarf: this whole outfit immediately stuck to the body, stretched out, began to drag along the bottom of me, the scarf slipped, hammered into my eyes, sleeves and trousers were braided together ...

I was completely desperate, lay down on the water, arms outstretched, and watched as the boys from a distance threw stones at us and laughed: now I had to sneak out onto the shore and, wearing a wide robe, run to the nearest fence. Water flowed from the clothes, it was cold and disgusting. Truly, it is unforgettable.

So when Lebanese designer Aheda Zanetti invented her first burkini - a Muslim swimsuit, whose name originated from an ingenious combination of a European bikini and a Muslim burqa - it revolutionized the Muslim world. Comfortable model - sleeves and trousers with elastic bands, thick hood, quick-drying fabric, everything is thought out to the smallest detail.

But before that Muslim women, following the rule to close the whole body from prying eyes, except for the face and hands, and could not dream of swimming, surfing, water aerobics, diving, regatta ... However, most of them are still talking about this and does not dream.

Burkini of discord

The Muslim swimsuit remains the subject of bitter controversy between the adherents of strict traditions and the democratic-minded modern followers of Islam. Trousers and a short tunic, in the opinion of the former, is an impermissible freedom, for the whole body must be carefully covered in such a way that it would be impossible to guess how many Muslim women are actually hidden in such a spacious abaya.

Burkini supporters, on the other hand, consider the model to be as comfortable and convenient as possible for swimming, since in long dress to make somersaults in the water is virtually impossible, and even dangerous. But, frankly, this can be called swimming only conditionally, since high-speed swimming in such clothes is impossible, and only leisurely cruising on the surface of the water is possible. But, say, for surfing and regatta burkini - just right.

But the representatives of Islam in Arab countries no one thinks about water sports at all. The sea is a place where you need to splash along the shore, watching the frolicking children. And no newfangled models will change the age-old tradition. Conquering a wave or exploring the depths of the sea is not about women. As, in fact, not about women running, cycling, tennis or snowboarding. By contrast, European Muslim women seek to overcome these stereotypes.

Beach Troopers

The dreams of active Muslim women about water sports in Russia end exactly where deserted reservoirs end and crowded beaches begin with inevitable attributes in the form of naked bodies and uncontrolled consumption of alcohol. This is a difficult and useless sight for Muslims, and, moreover, it is forbidden.

However, other desperate heroines in black spacious dresses manage to squeeze into a crowd of sunbathing fellow citizens and sit for a couple of hours in the sun, cursing at the same time at overly curious passers-by who point fingers at them and make offensive remarks. And then we read about the infringement of the rights of Muslim women and the dissatisfaction of vacationers.

Even in countries where Muslim women are trying to be loyal to the presence on the beaches and in hotels, incidents happen. After all, some women jump into the pool not in any swimsuits, but in exactly the same clothes in which they clean the yard and visit institutions with sewage. Sometimes these women are united in large families, and the rest of the visitors are forced to retreat. It’s silly to write off the indignation of tourists for Islamophobia, when basic hygiene rules are not observed.

Demonstration of absence

While more and more Muslim-oriented hotels and resorts are opening around the world - with separate swimming pools, mosques inside, halal meals, a special women's zone, in Russia only in selected regions will they calmly treat hijab and provide a halal menu. This menu is also not easy: rarely does any hotel in our country refuse to sell alcohol and pork in the summer, so there are some doubts about the halal meat on the next plate.

The initiatives to arrange a separate beach for Muslim women have not met with support for many years: it is expensive, difficult, and there is great public resistance. After all, a certain part of the followers of Islam in Russia are also categorically against Muslim women's beaches, since they are convinced that a woman should not have fun in reservoirs, relax in resorts and in other ways be like an idle crowd of unbelievers.

We will also find women in this "camp" who are literally horrified by the thought that a Muslim woman will appear on the shore. It doesn't matter if she's wearing an inappropriate burkini, tight wide dress or the classic niqab: it should not appear in public at all and demonstrate its existence. Moreover, “anyone who wants to” can take a helicopter and admire the bathing sinners from there. So it's better without the beach.

Quran before bed

But on only one Muslim swimwear, of course, the light did not converge like a wedge. If beaches with sun loungers are not available, there are, after all, catamarans, jet skis, "bananas", water trampolines. Relaxation by the water can be alternated with hiking in the mountains or in the forest, where women are accompanied by men. While traveling, enjoy the scenery, sightseeing, camel riding and local cuisine.

Halal hotel services are not cheap. Photo oae-tut.ru

All this can be done without using the services of halal hotels, which, by the way, are not cheap. Muslims only need to follow some simple rules: dress in accordance with the requirements of Sharia - and this also applies to men, who should cover the area from the navel to the knee; consume legal food and non-alcoholic beverages; continue to pray five times and not make "easy" acquaintances with the opposite sex.

However, all these resort delights are for spoiled gourmets and those who have been suffocating for a whole year in industrial everyday life. Rural residents have no time for travel, the very season of work in the gardens: mowing, sowing, watering, the first harvest ... So the most popular form of recreation in religious families is still reading the Koran before bedtime. Although hardly anyone will refuse a halal barbecue at their summer cottage in a pleasant company, and for this you do not need to buy vouchers and put on a burkini.

For most of their history, Muslims have lived under the shadow of an Islamic state and in an Islamic society. Almost all of the classical Islamic legal and cultural heritage was formed precisely during this period - the residence of Muslims on their own Muslim territory.

However, over time, as the Muslims themselves and Islamic civilization weakened, the Islamic state began to crumble, and more and more Islamic lands began to move away from the Caliphate under the rule of non-Muslims. At that time, in the minds of Muslims, the conquered territories could not keep within that they would live under the rule of unfaithful rulers. That is why they performed hijra en masse from the lands occupied by non-Muslims to those countries where Muslim rule was still preserved. Thus, the Muslims almost completely abandoned Andalusia and Sicily, which had been recaptured from them.

Similarly, from the Caucasus and Central Asia conquered by Tsarist Russia, Muslims in whole villages and auls left and performed hijra to Turkey, Arabia and Afghanistan. However, this time they did not leave completely. Most of the Caucasian highlanders, Uzbeks and Tajiks decided to remain under the rule of the "white king". And not so much because their faith turned out to be weaker than that of the non-Muslims Muhajirs who were leaving the rule. But also because by that time in many Muslim lands they were not ready to welcome them cordially and hospitably, as the Ansaras of Medina greeted the muhajirs of Mecca. And the lands they, often, stood out even worse than in their own scorched rocks, gorges and deserts.

In the same way, the Tatars, Bashkirs, Balkan Muslims, and then the inhabitants of all lands occupied by the Western colonialists - India, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, etc., decided to remain under the rule of non-Muslims. By the time the countries of the Arab East were colonized by the West, there was practically nowhere for Muslims to perform hijra. By this time, the level of development and living conditions in Muslim countries had reached such a low level that Muslim lands turned into the most neglected outskirts of civilization.

And suddenly, in the 20th century, the situation changed dramatically. In many Muslim countries, such ferocious dictators have become established in power that it has become not only more difficult to live under their thumb and remain faithful to the Islamic religion than under the rule of Western non-Muslim governments, but it is simply impossible. And in the West at this time, the economy was developing rapidly, democracy was strengthening and expanding, human rights were consistently defended, regardless of religious beliefs or national origin.

And Muslims suddenly began to voluntarily move to non-Muslim countries in a wide wave, fleeing the persecution of dictators in their own countries. Because there are many more opportunities in the West to preserve their own religious beliefs than in their native places. In addition, Western countries provided the broadest opportunities for earnings and education. The same picture, with some differences, developed in the expanses of the former USSR, when the Muslims of the Caucasus and Central Asia were forced to escape from the repression and poverty of their own republics in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities and regions of Central Russia.

But the outcome in the West and in Russia turned out to be the same. A huge mass of observant Muslims found themselves living not only in the absence of Islamic rule, but also surrounded by non-Muslim peoples and societies. In such conditions, in which Muslims have never lived in history, they faced a huge number of questions and urgent problems... The main question facing Muslims living in non-Muslim societies to this day is the question of what should be the intentions and goals of believers who settled down for permanent residence in such conditions?

Of course, the first duty of any Muslim, regardless of where he lives, is to elevate the word of Allah above all else. What does it mean to convey to the people of the Islamic call, the development of an Islamic society, strengthening and rallying the ranks of believers and the establishment of justice in this world. Living in non-Muslim societies not only does not relieve a Muslim of these duties, but also increases his responsibility for fulfilling them somewhat. And the non-Muslim society itself forces the Muslim to devote more attention and zeal to those goals and objectives, without which his main mission is absolutely impossible.

It is quite obvious that if we are talking about convinced and observant Muslims, and not about those who have forgotten and abandoned their religion, then the very first goal of any Muslim at any time and in any place should be to preserve and strengthen his faith. This goal is achieved by firm adherence to Islamic precepts, striving to observe as much of additional worship as possible, reading Islamic literature, communicating with righteous and God-fearing brothers, visiting the mosque as often as possible, and deepening Islamic knowledge.

The next duty of a Muslim is to show the broadest concern for his family, since surrounded by unbelievers, the Muslim family is the most basic fortress and citadel. Taking care of the family means not only providing it materially, but also taking care of its moral health, the depth of faith, the level of fear of God, and the degree of adherence to Islamic precepts.

While caring for one's family is already the responsibility of every Muslim, its importance should be emphasized in the case of Muslims living in non-Muslim societies. In traditional Muslim countries, the Muslim society itself, the circle of close relatives, friends and neighbors greatly helps to solve the problems associated with the proper upbringing of children and youth, the creation of a Muslim circle of communication for women. In non-Muslim societies, however, most often there is no one to take on this range of responsibilities, since Muslim communities are just being formed there. Therefore, a Muslim, as the head of the family, has to approach this responsibility with a double responsibility.

The next duty of a Muslim is to join forces with his fellow believers. Again, in a non-Muslim society, the importance of this step increases significantly. To resist the onslaught of temptations, factors that distract and destroy faith, Muslims must not only unite, but also unite as one person. Speaking about the degree of unification, interaction and mutual support of Muslims, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A believer is like a structure for the believer, each stone of which holds another."

The duty of Muslims to the society where they live, in order to give this society true knowledge and bring it out of error, is also one of the fundamental ones. Muslims should remember that Islamic calling is not only the responsibility of imams, scholars and sheikhs, but the responsibility of every observant Muslim. A Muslim living in a non-Muslim society not only should not reduce his zeal for the call to Islam, but also pay much more attention to him than his brothers in Muslim countries. Since he, unlike them, is on the forefront of opposition to atheism and unbelief, brings the light of Islam to lost people and gives them the opportunity to gain the mercy of Allah.

Another step in the duties of a Muslim is the duty to protect the interests and rights of the Muslim Ummah - the oppressed, in need of help, seeking advice and support in trials. Today we all see how the United States or Israel, for the sake of one of its citizens, who is in trouble or a difficult situation in other countries and societies, are ready to mobilize battalions of diplomats, politicians, military, negotiators, etc. Muslims, having so many instructions from the Almighty and His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the need for help and support of the brothers, need to show ten times more diligence in this direction.

It is on whether Muslims pay due attention to all their duties, fulfill their best duties and show sincere diligence in this, not only the future of Muslims in non-Muslim societies, but also the future of the entire Islamic civilization depends. And it is we, our generation of Muslims, who have a unique chance to become that Islamic vanguard in the non-Muslim world, which will once again raise the religion of Allah to its due heights.

It often happens that the acquisition of some kind of movable or immovable property for a person or an entire organization is not profitable. Sometimes prices can "bite", in some cases, the purchase of an object does not make sense due to the constant volatility of the market situation. And here such an economic and legal instrument as rent comes to the rescue. Islam, being a system that helps people in all spheres of life, imposes its own framework on this form of property relations between the parties.

In Arabic, rent is denoted by the word "Ijar" , which can be translated as "Sale of the right to use", "benefit". The Shariah definition of this phenomenon is as follows: the conclusion of a transaction between the parties for a certain time regarding some property, aimed at obtaining benefit, on the basis of mutual consent.

In fact, in Islamic law, lease is divided into two types: 1 - lease aimed at obtaining some kind of benefit (we are talking about real estate, vehicles, clothing, household appliances, and so on); 2 - hiring a person to do a certain job (for example, construction, sewing clothes, website development, writing texts, etc.).

Quran and Noble Sunnah about rent

The Holy Qur'an speaks in two places about the lease relationship between the parties, but in these cases the references are episodic.

Surah At-Talak says the following:

"Provide a shelter for divorced women for a specified period ..." (65: 6)

In surah, lease relations are mentioned in the context of the story of the Prophet Musa (a.s.):

“One of Shugaib's daughters said:“ Father, hire him as a shepherd! He will be the best among those who can handle it. " To this Shugaib replied: “I would like you to marry one of my daughters. As a bride price, you can offer me a hired job in my interests for 8 years ... ”(28: 26-27)

In the collection of hadiths of Imam al-Bukhari, one can find the saying of the Final Envoy of the Almighty Muhammad (s.g.v.) about how he told his companions about his past. His labor activity in the form of hiring also did not stand aside: “Whoever is sent by Allah into this world, he still tends sheep. And me too. I did it for the people of Mecca, they paid me several carats for this work. "

Rental conditions in islam

The lease relationship has two fundamental aspects. As in the case, it is about proposal(ijab) and consent(Kabul).

The conditions for concluding a lease agreement boil down to several points:

1) A person must be reasonable, that is, he must be at least 7 years old. At such a young age, he can act as a subject of such property relations only after receiving permission from a guardian.

2) The rented property must have an owner. The lease is not made in relation to those things, the owner or guardian of which is unknown.

3) The agreement must detail the essence of the leased, the time of lease or lease (if we are talking about people invited to carry out some type of work). There should be no understatement between the parties in order to avoid related conflicts.

4) The rented item or service must be such that they really have the properties that the renter expects. In addition, these qualities must comply with Sharia. For example, if the administration of a mosque is looking for a cleaning lady and finds her, then she should be in a clean state at the time of work (no menstruation). Otherwise, she will be prohibited from entering the mosque, and she will not fulfill the terms of the contract of employment.

5) The benefits of renting or hiring must fully comply with Islamic law. In this sense, it is forbidden to hire people to commit any crime or to produce haram products and services.

6) You cannot hire a person if it is assumed that he will perform actions that are obligatory for him, according to Islamic law. For example, taking money for a prayer performed is unacceptable. However, if we are talking about conducting classes, for example, on Islamic law, on the construction of Muslim temples, then this prohibition does not apply.

7) A person who is hired to do some kind of work should not directly benefit from the result of the work, since the latter does not apply to him, but to the employer. Legal scholars interpret this case as the fact that the worker cannot be paid with the result of his work. For example, if a person was to produce wooden figures, then he cannot be paid with the same toys.

8) If the rental object is movable property, then the lessor must provide it to the tenant personally.

9) The object of the lease should not have any flaws that make it impossible to use all the available properties.

Cases of cancellation of lease agreements:

  • in connection with the death of one of the parties to the contractual relationship;
  • if the parties are unanimous in the opinion that it is necessary to terminate the agreement for some reason;
  • if, under certain circumstances, the rented item has lost its essence (for example, it was destroyed);
  • the lease agreements expired and the parties decided not to renew them.

Who Muslims Can't Takeproperty for rent

The lease conditions listed above are distinguished by the fact that their implementation is relatively easy in a homogeneous Islamic environment, where the issue of compliance with Sharia business is not so acute. But what to do when Muslims are forced to enter into business relationships in secular society, in regions where the representatives of Islam do not dominate? What if the tenant is going to open a strip bar, a credit organization or a shop that sells alcoholic beverages in a Muslim-owned building?

The answer to these questions, according to Islamic law, is not as simple as it seems. Pupils and founders of other madhhabs of Sunni Islam believed that leasing property for such purposes was prohibited. Abu Hanifa believed the same, but with some reservations, which will be discussed below. The economic benefit as a criterion in the above situations is completely neglected. Banking institutions, microfinance organizations, which, as a rule, do not have problems with money, can offer an attractive price for the rented area, but a devout Muslim must resist the temptation and refuse such a potential tenant.

The ban also includes classic Western-style insurance companies that deal with uncertainty. What does it mean? Insurers take premiums from the client, the return of which, even in the case of the conditions specified in the contract, may not occur. As a result, a person pays money to the insurer, and he can, thanks to his own legal resourcefulness, do nothing at all and subsequently avoid material payments in favor of the insured. In addition, it is very risky to lease premises for hotels, massage studios, saunas and baths, which in certain areas are often used, in addition to their direct purpose, as a place for committing carnal sin.

It should be noted that the owner of the premises may not be responsible for the actions of the tenant if the latter deliberately misleads the owner of the property. For example, it was initially agreed that in the same massage parlor women would serve exclusively women and vice versa, but in reality it turned out that the tenant arranges a “zina festival” on an ongoing basis - in this case, the owner does not bear any responsibility to the Almighty. The situation is interpreted in a similar way if a ban on sale was initially stipulated in the store alcoholic beverages, but the tenant does not comply with this clause of the agreement. However, of course, it is better to prevent such a situation and keep the tenant's activities under control for their compliance with the contract.
