And I also found such a cool homemade hippo on the net.

You can describe all kinds of potato crafts to infinity. These are snowmen, bear cubs, mice, fish, etc. Sometimes you don’t even need to do anything special, because the potato tuber already has outlines similar to some object or animal.

The next idea for children's potato crafts is homemade stamps. After making such a stamp, it remains only to apply paint on it and you can use it!

Seal options and the prints obtained with their help are shown in the photographs.

  6. Carry out similar actions with other plasticine balls that will be used as the nose of each pig.
  7. Attach circles of plasticine with holes to the potatoes, put similar eyes, but of a very small diameter.

Potatoes are a very popular material for making children's crafts. However, there are a number of restrictions for making figures from raw potatoes. This is due to the fact that the tubers immediately darken on the cut. Therefore, only whole potatoes are used in the craft.

The beauty of this autumn tuberous vegetable is that, without any modifications, some specimens are already ready-made figurines of animals or fairy-tale characters. In collaboration with nature, you can easily show the world an invaluable example of design art. Needed: attentiveness, a couple of suitable details, such as a hat, etc., and a good degree of luck.

The following are involved in the manufacture of sheep: cauliflower - it turns out a white curly coat, a potato - it serves as a muzzle, and a couple of small white onions or radishes in the form of trusting eyes.

Giraffe

To create a giraffe, you need carrots. The orange queen of vegetables is the best for the neck. From potatoes, the head and torso of a guest from Africa are obtained. It is convenient to make craft legs and horns from twigs.

You can make a giraffe without using a carrot, it will be replaced by an even long twig.

In the following crafts, only potatoes are used with small additions of threads and branches.

From three oblong potatoes, it's easy to make this simple craft. This craft is quite suitable for creativity lessons in kindergartens. From sticks - legs. From potatoes - head, neck and torso. From threads - a mane and a tail. From acorn hats - hooves.

Deer

Here is another children's potato craft. We need two tubers for its manufacture, one of which is twice as large as the other. From a small potato we make a head: we outline the eyes with carnations (this seasoning is sold in any grocery store), we form horns from sprawling twigs. We make the hind legs from single branches growing at an angle. The front legs are just two straight branches. We strengthen all four legs in a larger potato. The small branch will be the tail. Both parts of the body are connected by a toothpick.

By the same principle, you can make a bird. Body and head made of potatoes. We make out the beak of the craft from two seeds. Paws, like those of a deer, are made of twigs. Tail - colored feathers. You can also make a perky crest on your head.

There is only one manufacturing technology: several dozen toothpicks are strengthened into a potato or apple body, these are hedgehog needles. Eyes and nose can be made from black peppercorns (it is sold in the same department as cloves).

Crafts from boiled potatoes

Much more opportunities for modeling from potatoes open up if you boil it. In crafts, then it becomes possible to use not only whole tubers, but also segments.

Cheburashka

For this potato craft, you will need half a tuber, which will be the body. From half a potato in a smaller size - we make a head. white slices will be a face and a belly. For the ears, you will need another potato. Cut it in half and cut off the convex part from each half. The legs are also two halves of one tuber, placed cut down. Handles can be made from halves of two small potatoes. All parts of the craft are connected with toothpicks. We make a face from a carnation.

Bear

Potatoes can become a material for making such a welcoming bear. If, instead of a barrel of honey, you give him a tray of fruit in his paws, this potato craft may well participate in the “Gifts of Autumn” exhibition. The whole figure is made according to the principle of Cheburashka. To make hands, we mentally divide a half of a potato into four parts and cut out one of the parts. It is important to find the right potato for the muzzle.

In this article, I have collected cute potato crafts that your kids can make with their own hands. Such crafts are suitable as competitive works for the autumn exhibition at school. I will tell you how to make such children's crafts from potatoes and give links to other competitive crafts on the theme of autumn. And also we have another big article, which contains ideas for crafts of their other vegetables - onions, cabbage, radishes, carrots, etc.

So let's see what kids can do with regular potatoes. Fun and easy crafts for kids.

Potato craft

MOUSE-NORUSHKA.

We will need a little fluffy wire for the ears and tail. Fluffy wire can be replaced with ordinary wire, smeared with sticky plasticine, which will give the desired thickness.

If desired, you can make a fluffy plasticine tail and ears. If you coat the wire with plasticine, then cover it with nail polish and, until the varnish is high, put more fluffy fibers on it - they can be made if you cut woolen threads very finely with scissors.

The legs are ordinary matches. If desired, at the lower end of each match leg, you can make SLIPPERS - round olives or pieces of potatoes, carrots.

Potato lion.

Children's craft.

To a large potato - on a toothpick (one or two) we attach a smaller potato (this will be the head on the body of a lion). Next, we stick a lot of orange wire into the head - this will be the lion's mane. But not everyone has fluffy wire. Therefore, I offer such decor options for this potato craft.

Can you make a mane from woolen threads- just confuse them with a ball or sausage and stick around the lion's head.

Can be dyed orange cotton pads. Dry them - pick them up in fluffy shreds and glue them around the head. Cotton wool is well attached to nail polish (the potato surface must be perfectly dry before gluing).

Craft from potatoes

for kids.

In this children's craft, the head is also planted on 2 toothpicks (on one it will spin, and on two it will be fixed at the turn and tilt we need).

Cut out the nose from a piece of carrot - we also put it on 2 toothpicks. Paws cut out of orange skins. You can add a tail and wings (for example, from onion slices). Or they can be drawn with gouache on the sides of the body of a duck).

You can make such an owl craft with your own hands from potatoes and other vegetables. The wings are cuts with a knife. Carrot beak. Eyes can be made from onion rings, round cucumber slices, or molded from plasticine.

If your potato has a process of a narrower shape, then you can use a knife. make a cut-heel on it, and we have a pig's snout. Add a mouth, ears, eyes and the pig is ready. You can paint the craft in a delicate pink color with gouache.

Craft from potatoes

UNCLE WALRUS.

Wash potatoes, dry. From fluffy wire we make hands. You can make hands from ordinary wire thickened with plasticine.

We cut out the eyes, eyebrows and mustache of the walrus from thick paper. If you don't have colored paper at home, you can cut out walrus parts from a thick washcloth.

If you are lucky, you can find potatoes that will resemble a fur seal with their relief. It can also be added to our walrus craft.

Step into the market- they sell irregularly shaped potatoes at a low price. Or go to hyper market, where in the vegetable department you yourself can choose bulk potatoes, poured in bulk into boxes.

Next to the walrus you can do sandy beach - on the lid of a shoe box. Place potato stones on the beach. Draw a seashore. Soak an egg carton in boiling water - when it swells, tear it into pieces. Beat with a mixer (or knead with your hands). And squeeze a rag onto a sieve - we twist the rag very, very strongly so that all the liquid is forced out. You will get sticky paper dough. From the incongruous sea with crested waves. We paint the sea in blue gouache, and the edges of the scallops in white - imitating sea foam.

We put our piece of the sea on the lid of the shoe box. We pour sea sand next to the surf - we make a beach area for our walrus. It is better to pour sand on PVA glue - let it lie down so that the glue grabs and then shake off the excess. So the craft will not crumble.

If desired, other characters can be launched into the ocean. Shark, crabs and more.

Below we see a shark made from eggshells. But according to the same scheme, you can make a shark in the form of potato crafts. We cut out the teeth and tail from paper and attach it to the potatoes - glue the teeth, insert the tail into the slot-slit.

And you can make it even tougher. Shark mouth cut in potato. Paint the inner cut soak with paint - like a red mouth. Along the edges of the mouth - from above and below, poke rows of short pieces of toothpicks - paint them with white gouache - these will be real shark teeth.

Crafts from potatoes

For small children.

My potatoes, dry. We smear it with nail polish - a thick layer and attach buckwheat groats to the varnish. Let's dry. And repeat the procedure in other bald places. It is better to make eyes and nose from plasticine - expressive ones will turn out - with white proteins and black pupils.

An apple for a hedgehog can be made using the papier-mâché technique. Soak an egg carton in boiling water. Knead the paper dough in your hand. Squeeze excess moisture through the fabric. Blind an apple to dry - a day or two. Paint with gouache, sprinkle with nail polish.

And potatoes can be overlaid with cotton wool. Add black plasticine legs. Sad eyes and nose. You will get a fluffy sheep craft.

You can find potatoes in such a shape that the muzzle of a lamb is a little more elongated and oval. So there will be more similarities.

Crafts from potatoes

and white radish.

The root of a white radish can participate as a partner vegetable in the manufacture of potato crafts. Potatoes will serve as the source of round shapes, while radishes will produce cuts of oval and cylindrical shapes.

And if you come across a large thick radish of an interesting shape, then it can become an independent craft for a competition in a kindergarten or school.

Potato head.

for kids.

You can make funny people out of potatoes. You can cut out ready-made facial features - from glossy magazines. Whole mouth and eyes. A wig can be made from finely cut woolen threads. From a washcloth or fabric. Or fashion plasticine curls.

You can decorate a potato head with junk or ornamental material. Or add vegetables for head design - bunches of cabbage for hair, carrots for the nose.

Crafts from potatoes

For girls.

You can make a potato princess. Great craft for girls. Can be used, sequins, sequins, adhesive rhinestones. Handles and legs are made of wire or toothpicks with the addition of plasticine.

And next to such a craft, erect a real toilet paper roll princess castle.

Crafts from potatoes

For boys.

And for boys, you can make man-made crafts from potatoes. Robots, spaceships, moon rovers and other equipment are interesting and exciting to make from potatoes. You can stick wires, screws into it, cut holes-pockets for batteries and drill passages for wires that will make the LEDs glow.

Here are ideas for pumpkin and chestnut robots that might inspire you to similar potato crafts.

What's stopping you from making a techno-knight out of potatoes? This will get even tougher. The main thing is to find more unnecessary pieces of iron in dad's closet. Well, coordinate your creative theft with your father when he comes home from work - so that it doesn’t turn out that you took expensive and valuable equipment for crafting.

And scary monster crafts are made from potatoes. Or aliens.

Crafts from potatoes

About cartoons.

You can make your favorite cartoon characters from potatoes and other vegetables.

We fasten all the details on toothpicks. To prevent the part from spinning, we fasten it to two matches. So the fixation will maintain the slope and angle of rotation we need. Small parts stick well with nail polish or rubber glue. And also on glue from a hot glue gun.

Your favorite cartoons can be made from potatoes with your own hands. Cheburashka and potatoes and Crocodile Gena from cucumber will be a good job for a craft competition at school or kindergarten.

Plasticine is perfectly attached to the surface of dry potatoes. Therefore, a team of Smeshariki can be made from round spherical potatoes. We add all the missing details from plasticine, paint the potatoes in the desired color with gouache (securing the painting with hairspray). We get an absolute resemblance to cartoon characters.

You can sew felt and fabric clothes for potato heroes. To bring the resemblance to the original.

You can cut out the details of the character - a smile, the belly of a potato paw just with a knife.

You can cut clothes for crafts inside another vegetable. For example, the overalls on the minions below are eggplant halves, from which they took out all the pulp and inserted the potato bodies of the minions inside.

These are the ideas for crafts for children from potatoes that you received today. There is something to think about and fantasize about. Good luck with your ideas. Fast work. And win the craft competition.
