Today, walking through the mall, I noticed a wide bracelet made of bright fabric on the wrist of one girl. I cannot convey in words how I liked him! And, most importantly, I can make such a bracelet myself. Therefore, having come home, I started looking for a master class with a similar bracelet. I didn’t want to leave the house again, so I entered the phrase into the search bar: “make a bracelet from fabric from scrap materials”. This strangely loaf phrase reflected the hallmarks of the master class I'm looking for. Very quickly, I found a suitable video on the YouTube channel Afinka DIY and immediately started creating a bracelet with this video.

I needed:

• Plastic bottle;
• A piece of cloth;
• Stationery knife;
• Scissors;
• Stapler or thread with a needle;
• Hot glue gun.

Operating procedure:

1. Using a stationery knife, I cut the bottle in half.

2. From any half of the bottle, I cut out a bracelet blank with scissors. Width is not critical. I align the edges.

3. Trying on a bracelet blank to determine the size. My jewelry should be put on effortlessly and also removed, but not fly off. I fasten the ends of the bracelet with a stapler. If there is no stapler, you can simply sew with threads.

4. I cut off the excess plastic.

5. I start decorating the workpiece. I take a long piece of fabric about 5 cm wide. The edge with which I started wrapping does not need to be fastened. It is fixed in the folds of the fabric.

6. Having finished wrapping, I glue the remaining edge with a hot glue gun. You can make it easier - sew with thread.

7. A wide fabric bracelet is ready!

My bracelet made of scrap materials is absolutely not inferior to the one I took away in the mall. You can make several such bracelets for different outfits. It turns out stylish and not expensive. Any fabric is suitable for decoration, as long as the edges are not frayed. The best thing is to iron them or hem them.

So let's get to work.
In order to cut a plastic bottle, we will work with a stationery knife and scissors. Therefore, we do everything carefully and observe safety precautions. In the middle of a clean plastic bottle, make punctures with a clerical knife. We cut out the middle part of the bottle with a knife, for whom it is more convenient to cut it out with scissors. We have got a wide solid strip. Cut across the plastic strip with scissors.

We put the strip of plastic on the cardboard and fix it with the pushpins. Using a ruler and felt-tip pen, divide the workpiece in half and align the strips.

We remove the blank from the cardboard and carefully, without haste, cut it into two strips with scissors, rounding the edges. We got 2 blanks measuring 3cm X 17cm.

We wrap the cardboard with white paper. We put the blanks on cardboard and secure with paper clips. We outline the blanks with a simple pencil.

We remove the blanks. On paper, where we outlined the blank, we draw a sketch of future bracelets. You can use a template.

Again we put the blanks on the completed drawing and secure with paper clips. We paint our bracelets with stained glass paints.

Thin bracelet

A bottle bracelet can be filled with bright sparkles or decorated more discreetly. We will choose the decor based on who will wear the accessory. For little princesses, the first option is suitable, and for women and girls we will find something quieter.

You can paint the inside of the bracelet with nail polish to make it pearlescent. Or acrylic to make it uniform. If we seal the bracelet into a tube, it can be filled with a solution of glycerin with sparkles or beads. For more restrained options for an accessory, you can use only beads or beads: insert them inside as tightly as possible to each other.

Children's glitter bracelets always delight girls. If you want, you can make a necklace in the same way. And the accessory will perfectly complement a satin ribbon flower or any ready-made decor that can be glued.

Pendants

We take any fabric and wrap a bracelet with it. It is necessary to use glue to securely fix the decor. Next, glue the lace napkin. If you know how to crochet, lace can be fastened neatly with it. Or just sew it on with regular sewing thread. It is also better to trim the inner side of the bracelet so that the lace does not stick out around the edges.

Dark fabric or jeans look best as a background in such bracelets.

Plastic on plastic

Textile

If you make the bracelet wide, it will be very cool to paste over it with decorative fabric. This decor option will never go out of style.

In addition to a plastic bottle of a suitable size, you will also need a felt-tip pen, a knife, scissors, a stand, and decorative materials.

Step one: blank for a bracelet from a plastic bottle

At the first stage, it is important to make blanks for the bracelet. In this case, the most important thing is to make the workpieces as even as possible. And just for this, the supply and the felt-tip pen will come in handy.

Stacked books can be used as a secure stand. They are heavy enough to securely hold the marker or felt-tip pen in position. A felt-tip pen or marker is inserted between the books at the required height. Then, holding it with one hand, turn the bottle (scroll) with the other hand so that the felt-tip pen describes a circle. Thus, you can get an almost perfect cut line for the future bracelet from plastic bottles.

When the markings are complete, use a well-sharpened knife to make a small cut just above or just below the cutting line. Scissors are then inserted into the resulting hole and the plastic is cut strictly along the line.

After that, make another markup about two centimeters from the cut line. Thus, cut the required number of rings from plastic bottles. To create a bracelet from plastic bottles, you only need one ring.

It is very important to make sure that the rings are almost perfectly straight. You can later trim the cutting line slightly with scissors. It is not necessary to achieve mathematical accuracy - you can act by looking "by eye".

Step two: heat treatment of the plastic bottle bracelet

The ring, cut from plastic bottles, is placed on a flat surface that is not afraid of heating. Then they turn on the iron and heat it at the maximum setting. When the iron warms up well, it is lowered onto the plastic ring with the entire area through the newspaper so that the plastic does not stick to the heating surface.

As a result, the plastic will wrap inward, as a result of which the bracelet made of plastic bottles will become much thinner and gain volume.

The same procedure with heating with an iron and folding is carried out on the other side of the bracelet, for which it will need to be turned over.

By the way, not all plastic bottles are smoothly and beautifully rounded and rolled inward. When some of them are heated, the plastic distorts its shape, which is called faldite and shrinks. Unfortunately, it is impossible to visually identify such a plastic bottle, it is only revealed directly during heat treatment.

Of course, to make a bracelet from plastic bottles, they take a different type of plastic, which is not distorted, but bends beautifully and evenly. To play it safe, it is best to prepare several different plastic bottles in advance. If it doesn’t work with one of them, it will work out with the other.

Step three: adjusting the bracelet to size

If a bracelet made of plastic bottles turns out to be quite large and falls off the hand, it is wrapped in some kind of decorative material. This can be, for example, a lined satin ribbon or any other material suitable for the occasion.
