Penguin made of paper. Modular origami - penguin

Almost every animal in the world can be made using the origami technique, even the penguin that lives in the ice of the Antarctic ocean. This figurine is very easy to make - the bird will stand straight, looking at the sky, like a real one. A slightly tilted head will allow the penguin to maintain balance and showcase his personality. Make several of these birds and put them together like a flock, and from a smaller sheet of paper, fold a chick that will complement the family.

Origami penguin will require from us 1 square sheet, 15x15 cm

Place the paper face down with the corner with the drawn eyes facing you. Fold the sheet in half diagonally so that the fold passes between the penguin's eyes and fold in the marking fold. Unfold the piece of paper.

Fold the two bottom sides of the square towards the center line so that their edges touch. Then fold the bottom corner up to connect to the top corner and fold in a fold.

Fold down the corner that was folded in the previous step, making a fold above the fold line made in step 2. Then fold the penguin's nose under the model, laying a fold below the eye line, and, stepping back 1.25 cm, fold in a reverse fold.

Fold the model in half along the center marking fold.

Fold up the left corner of the main body of the model and fold in from the left corner to a point 1 cm from the right edge. Flip the model upside down and fold again, then return the model to its original position.

Fold the bottom of the model to the right, using the diagonal edge as a guide.

Take the model in your hands and unfold it, slightly bending your head down. Fold the model again along the folds laid before, only the folds of the penguin's head need to be made external.

Fold the lower left corner of the model to the right and create a vertical fold, then fold the tip back to the line of the previous fold.

Unfold by straightening the folds and tucking the flap inward, returning large folds to their place and leaving only the tip on the outside. Fold up the penguin's body again.

Many characters can be made from a cone base. These are animals, birds, flowers and trees, original objects and finger toys.

Penguins made of paper, based on a cone, I liked right away. Since they look interesting, and making them is simple and quick. I saw the idea a long time ago, on some website, and kept it to myself. There, the authors also created a wonderful composition: a lot of penguins on pieces of icebergs, on the banks, and around and between them - the water surface. In fact, the water was blue oilcloth, and the pieces of icebergs and snowy shores were styrofoam. But everything is very convincing and harmonious. So you can take note of this idea.

What materials will be needed?

  • Basically it is black and white paper. And just a little orange for the beak;
  • A simple pencil, scissors, glue stick;
  • A compass or any object with a round bottom or base.

How to make paper penguins?

Draw a circle on black paper and cut it out. Since only half of the circle is enough for one penguin, two birds will turn out from its whole part at once. Or, if two are not needed, the second part can be left for the wings. The circle can be of very different sizes, it all depends on the desired height of the penguin. I made a circle with a saucer, but my daughter took a glass altogether and we got very little baby penguins.

Cut the circle in half.

Prepare additional paper details: cut out two small circles out of white paper - the eyes and draw the pupils with a felt-tip pen. From orange paper, you need two triangles - a beak, from black paper - two wings. The penguin's breast is a rectangle with a rounded side, slightly less than the height of the black semicircle. It's not scary, if it turns out more, then you can remove the excess length.

Make a cone out of the black semicircle and glue the sides.

Glue on the white breast, which should go all the way to the bottom.

Attach the beak to the bird.

And on top of it and the eyes.

Add wings on the sides and fold them up a little.

In principle, paper penguins are ready, but my eyes seemed too scared, so I glued them more carefully so that they fit snugly to the body or head, in general, to the cone.

These are such interesting penguins. You can play with them, they are stable on the surface.

My daughter quickly made baby penguins, so a very friendly penguin family was formed.

Origami penguin is one of the most popular paper origami. If you do not know how to make a penguin, then on this page you will find everything you need to assemble this simple paper figure.

Penguin made of paper: assembly diagram

Below is a diagram of the assembly of this origami from the famous Japanese origami master Fumiaki Shingu. If you follow the instructions carefully, then assembling the origami penguin will not take much time, and the result will be the same as in the picture. Having done what is described in the diagram several times, you will understand how to make a penguin quickly and without peeping into the diagram.

Assembly instructions

  1. Fold a square piece of paper in half diagonally. Bend the fold well in both directions.
  2. Fold the corners about a third to the left of the start of the center fold. Also bend the fold well in both directions.
  3. Make L-shaped folds, as shown in step 3 of the origami assembly diagram.
  4. Flip the piece of paper 180 degrees.
  5. Fold the sheet so that the folds made in step 3 of the assembly diagram remain outside.
  6. Bend the sharpest corner of the resulting cone inside out, as shown in Figure 6.
  7. Then bend the second sharp corner towards the obtuse corner.
  8. To make the penguin legs on which it can stand steadily, it is necessary to bend the angle, which is approximately 90 degrees at the bottom of the figure.
  9. The same thing as described in paragraph 8 must be done with respect to the beak.
  10. Draw the eyes and color the figurine as you like.

If you have any difficulties during the assembly of origami, then we advise you to watch our video master class, in which we assemble a similar figure according to the same instructions (Penguin diagram. Origami of other birds).

If you succeed, and you think that origami turned out to be successful, you can send us a photo of your result. We will gladly put it on this page and sign it with your name. Our other users will be able to rate your result.

Video master class

Assembling a paper penguin for beginners can seem like a daunting task. Therefore, we advise you to enter the required query on the largest video hosting on the Internet YouTube. There you will find many different videos about paper penguins, which clearly show the steps for assembling paper penguins. We hope that after watching the video of the assembly master class, you will not have any more questions on how to make an origami penguin.

This video tutorial will teach you how to assemble a volumetric penguin from paper:

Symbolism

The penguin has long been considered a symbol of Antarctica. The penguin is one of the few birds that can live in such a harsh environment. In fact, there are five species of penguins, and only emperor penguins live year-round in Antarctica. All other penguins leave this cold continent for the winter.

Penguins have always belonged to the beloved animals of many children and adults. Cartoons are shot about them, pictures are drawn. We suggest making an origami penguin craft out of paper with your own hands.

Simple craft

For an origami penguin, choose double-sided paper. On the one hand, it should be white, and on the other, black or blue.

  1. Fold a square piece of paper in half to form a triangle (Figure 1).
  2. Expand the sheet and bend one of its vertices to the center (Figure 2).
  3. Now fold the shape in half along the fold line (Figure 3).
  4. Unscrew the right side to the left, but not completely, but as shown in illustration 4.
  5. Fold over the right tip of the shape (Figure 5).
  6. Unscrew it and make another fold line, as in illustration 6.
  7. You should now fold the top corner (Figure 7).
  8. Wrap the tip of the shape inward a couple of times (Figure 8).
  9. The penguin figure is ready! If you wish, you can draw eyes for him.

Modular origami

Such as modular, allows you to create 3D objects. For such work, you will need to take several sheets of paper in black and white (or blue and white). The more leaves, the larger the craft will turn out.

The procedure for creating a modular origami - penguin:

  1. Creation of modules.
  2. Assembling modules together in the correct sequence.

How to make modules?

Modules are such details that are folded together and form the required figure. They are done as follows:

  1. Cut the sheets of paper into equal rectangles.
  2. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise (Figure 1).
  3. Then make a perpendicular fold by bending the strip in half (Figure 2).
  4. Fold the right and left sides to form a triangle-like shape (Figure 3).
  5. Tuck the edges of the part (Figure 4).
  6. Fold the lower parts up (Figure 5).
  7. Fold the triangle in half (Figure 6).
  8. Spread out the part a little so that it is slightly voluminous (Figure 7).

You now have the first module. For a craft like an origami penguin, you need 101 black pieces, 45 white pieces, and 1 orange or yellow piece.

Assembling the craft

Modular origami (penguin) needs to be assembled as follows:

  1. Take two black modules and place them on the table, wings up. Connect them together with a third piece, putting it on one wing of each (Figure 1).
  2. Add another black module and put the next one on top. After a few details start using the white ones. As a result, in the first row you should have five black modules and seven white ones. The second row consists of six black and six white (picture 2).
  3. The third circle will have seven black and five white modules (Figure 3).
  4. The fourth row is represented by four white modules and 8 black ones (Figure 4).
  5. The fifth row is two white pieces and ten black pieces (Figure 5).
  6. Turn the figurine over as in illustration 6.
  7. Make a row of three white modules and nine black modules (Figure 7).
  8. In the next tier, increase the number of whites by one and decrease the number of black modules.
  9. The next row will have five white and seven black modules (Figure 8).
  10. Insert four white and eight black pieces (Figure 9).
  11. Align one white module on either side of the black module (Figure 10).
  12. Then insert only black modules (Figure 11).
  13. The last row consists of black modules only (Figure 12).
  14. Reverse the black modules on both sides (Figure 13).
  15. Attach the orange module using glue (Figure 14).
  16. Make the eyes out of two circles of white and a couple of circles that are smaller than black.

The volumetric figure of a penguin is ready! If you wish, you can make a crown for the animal, in the same way as the body was made, and glue it on its head.
