Well, who has already begun to prepare for the New Year? The days on the calendar are inevitably approaching the cherished night, which means it's high time to create a New Year's mood! Last year, unfortunately, I did not have time to write an article about our New Year's crafts. However, I saved everything and now, finally, I was able to put it all together.

In this article you will find New Year's crafts for children 4-5 years old, some of this with parental help can already be done at 3 years old, something will be interesting later. As usual, first of all, it is worth focusing on the child. For me, the main criterion when choosing a craft is always its availability - so that my daughter can master the creative work with a minimum amount of my help, and at the same time the creative process turned out to be not too long.

Christmas toy "Snowman"

Let's start with the most important thing - with Christmas toys. A simple and, in general, quite spectacular toy - a voluminous snowman. To complete it, you will need 6-10 white circles, which are most convenient to draw with a mug or glass. Also prepare additional elements: head, hat, nose.

Christmas tree toy "Angel" made of cotton pads

To make one angel, you will need 1 whole cotton pad and 1 half, white plasticine, thread. First, together with the baby, roll the head and legs out of plasticine. Fold the thread in half and use a needle to thread the thread through the head and legs. Tie knots at the ends so that the legs do not move off the thread.

Now you can start assembling the toy. Put half of a cotton pad on the table, drop PVA glue in the middle and attach a second, whole disk on top. Lay a thread with a head on it, thoroughly coat everything inside with glue, then bend the disk as in the photo and fix it again with glue - you get an angel.

You can make very unusual Christmas decorations with your own hands if you stock up on beautiful winter-New Year napkins and plastic lids for jars in advance.

So, first we cut out circles the size of a plastic cover from napkins. At the same time, we try to get a beautiful pattern on the circle, Santa Claus, for example. Note! If the napkins are double, you need to separate the bottom layer, and leave only one top layer, with a pattern! Thanks to this, the pattern will shine through beautifully on both sides of the toy.

Next, we do everything as in the photo: we put a circle with a pattern in the lid, put a rope and fill it with water. It is very important to use boiled (and chilled) or filtered water. This is necessary so that the ice in the toys is clear and not cloudy. When everything is ready, carefully arrange the toys in the freezer.

Alternatively, instead of painted napkins, you can use rowan berries or dried flowers, it also turns out very beautifully.

By analogy with Christmas tree decorations, you can make a whole ice garland. To do this, we first fill the ice mold with all sorts of small things: beads, sequins, sparkles, pieces of foil, small pompons. Then also fill with boiled or filtered water. Coloring can be added to the water if desired. And do not forget to lay a rope through all the cells of the form!

Another version of a voluminous Christmas tree toy, easy to perform. Here you will need to make blanks in advance - 8 multi-colored circles with equilateral triangles drawn on them. To make it easier to fit triangles into a circle, you can calculate in advance how long the side of the triangle should be, you can do this using the formula, where r is the radius of your circle. I hope I didn’t scare you too much with mathematical formulas)) In fact, you can draw triangles, of course, by eye, but then the toy runs the risk of not being completely even.

Christmas decoration "Stars"

The idea for this New Year's craft is taken from the book " paper Christmas decorations". Actually, decorative paper is also taken from it. The book is very wonderful, I already wrote about it in the selection, but if you wish, you can do this craft without having this book, simply using any wrapping or colored paper.

DIY Christmas garland

To make such a simple and at the same time very effective garland, you will need many, many colored stripes. It is advisable to use double-sided colored paper, then the inside of the balls will also look beautiful.

It takes four strips to make one ball. Explain to the child that you first need to glue two strips crosswise, and then add two more to make something like a snowflake. At the end, we collect all the strips in a bunch into a ball. The step by step process can be seen in the photo.

Garland "People"

I bet you made such a garland in your childhood, well, or in your youth. So let's not forget such good ideas.

For those who have forgotten: first we fold an accordion out of paper, draw half a man on it, cut it out. And decorate the way you like.

Craft "Herringbone" do-it-yourself

Now the turn of Christmas trees has come. The variety of crafts in the form of Christmas trees is limitless, I will tell you about those that, in my opinion, are well suited for children 4-5 years old.

A Christmas tree made of several cones with a homemade fringe looks very stylish. The Christmas tree, as in the photo, consists of four cones 5, 8, 11 and 14 cm high. It is most convenient to make cones from a quarter of a circle.

If it will be hard for the child to glue the cones on his own, then he will definitely chop the fringe with pleasure.

After the cones are ready, they just need to be put on top of each other.

Postcard "Herringbone"

Surely you have already met this craft somewhere, it is quite popular on the net. Looks original, easy to do. All a child needs to be able to do is cut straight lines and fold paper.

The Christmas tree in our postcard is made from one A4 green sheet. I drew the sheet across into 6 strips 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 cm thick. Taisiya cut them, made an accordion from each strip and glued it with my help.

Craft-lacing "Christmas tree"

For those who are tired of paper crafts and are looking for something more original, this is just a great solution. Tase really liked this craft. Here the biggest problem for mom is to find chenille wire (aka fluffy wire), although now it is gaining more and more popularity, you can, of course, not meet it in every store. There are definitely in stores that position themselves as "everything for creativity."

So, in advance before class, we make holes in the right places on a disposable plate with a knife. The child will need to put the wire like a string through these holes. Behind the wire will need to be secured by wrapping the wire properly. Christmas decorations can be attached to the plate with a glue gun. It is most convenient to make a trunk and an asterisk for a Christmas tree from plasticine.

Craft "Christmas tree" from plasticine

For children 4-5 years old, drawing with plasticine is a very relevant activity. In kindergartens, often at this time, children are offered to “paint” pictures with plasticine. This is indeed a very useful exercise for strengthening the strength of the fingers.

For a child who is already familiar with this type of creativity, it will not be difficult to “color” a cardboard cone with plasticine, thereby turning it into a Christmas tree. After the entire surface of the Christmas tree is covered with plasticine, it will be very convenient to attach decorations to it - sequins, beads, buttons, small pompons.

Craft "Santa Claus" from a disposable plate

I wrote about such a craft in detail in my last year's article "", look there.

Craft "Santa Claus" from the sleeve

And here is another interesting version of Santa Claus. You will need a toilet paper roll for this. In principle, if you don’t have one at hand, but you really want to make a craft, you can prepare a cylinder of thick cardboard in advance.

Paste the sleeve (or cylinder) with red paper together with the child, separately paint and glue the face of Santa Claus. Add additional elements of cotton wool and a cap.

Craft-pencil "Snowman"

Surprisingly, this snowman, made last year, has been serving us for a whole year! I think the craft turned out to be so durable because it is based on a strong glass jar.

As planned, it was planned to paint the jar with white paint, and then glue cotton balls or pieces of cotton wool on it. But my husband, sent to the pharmacy for cotton balls, bought zig-zag cotton wool, which was completely unfamiliar to me, and it turned out that it fits even better for this craft! Such cotton wool is a rather dense cotton roll, which is very convenient to paste over a jar. Since in this case the jar is not visible at all, we did not even have to paint it.

If there is no such wonderful zig-zag cotton wool in the nearest pharmacy, then paint the glass jar with white acrylic (!) paint, and then stick pieces of cotton wool or cotton balls.

Refined sugar castle

When Taisiya was younger, we used to build with lumps of sugar, but now we can afford to build on a larger scale, this time it's a castle for the Snow Queen In general, you can come up with any idea for building with refined sugar that suits your interests and perseverance child, fantasize!

Winter application

When you add cotton wool, cotton balls, cotton buds or cotton pads to any application, it automatically takes on a winter look, so run to the pharmacy as soon as possible, cotton wool and its derivatives will definitely come in handy for crafts this year!

Craft "Crown"

It may seem that the craft does not quite correspond to the topic of the article, but if you, like us, fell in love with the book "The Snow Queen", then it will not seem so to you

For crafts, you will need thick yellow cardboard, sequins, cotton wool. The wonderful thing about this craft is that the child himself will be able to cut out the crown, decorate it himself, there is nothing complicated.

Bird feeders

I also add here our feeder from a five-liter bottle, which is already mentioned. The craft is not only interesting, but also useful

Snowflakes

And, of course, do not forget about the good old snowflakes on the window. As practice shows, for children, carving snowflakes is often more interesting than any newfangled and exotic crafts that we search for hours on the Internet.

I wish you a very bright New Year's Eve! Don't forget to check out our other Christmas-themed articles:

Winter in our strip lasts a long time. What can you do with your child on long winter evenings? Why not do winter crafts with him?! In this article you will find a large number of a wide variety of winter children's crafts. Crafts on a winter theme vary in difficulty. But even if you do not have the task of winning the winter-themed craft contest, we still recommend that you make at least one of some winter crafts for children from our wonderful selection.

1. Winter crafts. DIY winter crafts

We will start with simpler winter crafts for children. With a preschool child, you can mold a penguin from plasticine, and to make it more interesting to play with the resulting toy, make ice floes for penguins from pieces of foam. In the process of such games, you can tell a lot of interesting things to the baby about the animals living at the North and South Poles of our planet.

With older children, make a penguin out of plastic bottles. For this do-it-yourself winter craft, you will need two two-liter plastic bottles, a stationery knife, a glue gun and acrylic paints. How to make a penguin from plastic bottles is shown in detail in the photo below.

3. Winter DIY photo. DIY winter crafts for children

Be sure to make a snowman out of socks with your child. This is a very simple do-it-yourself children's winter craft, meanwhile, such a snowman looks very beautiful, almost like a purchased toy. Such a snowman can be placed under the Christmas tree along with Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. Do not be ashamed to give it for the New Year as a gift.

To make a winter snowman craft with your own hands, you will need:

Two socks (one of them is white)
- rice (round)
- buttons
- beautiful rope
- orange paper or orange pencil

For a detailed master class on how to make a snowman out of socks, see the link.

The charming doll in the photo below is made from an ordinary mitten. Her head is a foam ball, the filler for this children's winter craft is rice. You can read detailed instructions and see a photo of the manufacture of this winter craft.

For such a doll, it is appropriate to make a cute bright hat. We made this children's winter craft from a cardboard toilet paper roll and yarn. Read detailed instructions

It will also be interesting for a mitten girl or any other small toy to make a toy sled. This DIY winter craft is made from wooden ice cream sticks or medical spatulas. It is most convenient to fasten the parts of the sled together with a glue gun.

4. Craft winter fairy tale. Winter paper crafts

Do you love children's stories? We are sure yes. And winter (New Year's) children's fairy tales? Without a doubt! Agree, after all, it's nice, hiding in a warm blanket and slowly drinking hot chocolate or linden tea with honey, to read some fascinating winter story with your child. Do you want the fairy tale to become a little closer, or rather, even to settle in your home? Then make the next winter craft with your baby. Print out and cut out mouse in a hole. Let the child color it with colored pencils. Now glue the mouse to the wall at the level of the baseboard in some secluded corner of your house. So, on the eve of the New Year holiday, a little fairy-tale mouse settled in your house. "What a cute winter fairy tale craft," you will no doubt say.

5. DIY winter crafts for kindergarten

The most favorite and popular winter sports for children are skiing and skating. The theme of winter sports is reflected in children's winter crafts. Interesting winter crafts for kindergarten can be made using magnets.

In the photo below, a paper clip has been attached to the paper girl on skates. A magnet was attached to the bottom of the tin box. It turned out a wonderful winter craft, or rather a fun toy. The child drives a magnet along the bottom of the box - the young figure skater repeats all the movements of his hand.

We want to present you another do-it-yourself winter craft for kindergarten. "Ski Track" . This winter-themed craft is also made using a magnet. We make a track for a skier from a piece of cardboard, place flags (we stick toothpicks with self-adhesive flags into plasticine), stretching the start and finish, plant Christmas trees along the edge (mosaic in plasticine). The skier is obtained from a Lego figure, to which we glue cardboard skis with paper clips at the bottom. We attach a magnet to a long ruler to control the descent of the skier. Ready! Learning to manage a skier, the child will perfectly develop fine motor skills of hands.

The skier can be done differently. Draw it on thick paper, color it and cut it out with scissors. Skis will replace wooden ice cream sticks (or medical spatulas), excellent ski poles will come from toothpicks or bamboo skewers. Between themselves, the skis are fixed with a piece of plastic tube, to which they are glued on both sides. Thus, not only an original children's winter craft is obtained, but also an exciting fun toy.

If you want to make a simple, but at the same time original winter DIY craft for kindergarten with your child, then we advise you to pay attention to the photo below. In the photo you see a skating rink made of paper. Plain white paper of increased density was painted with blue watercolor paint, and sprinkled with salt on top until the paint dried. This made it possible to create the effect of an ice coating on paper, as on a real ice rink. The girl and Christmas trees are also made of paper. Snowdrifts around the skating rink are made of cotton wool.

6. DIY winter crafts for school

Have you looked all over the Internet looking for do-it-yourself winter crafts for school? We have some interesting ideas for you. For example, you can make such a winter bouquet with your child. To do this, find beautiful tree branches during a walk in the forest or park. Bring them home. At home, chop up a piece of foam with your hands. Moisten the styrofoam with water beforehand, so it will not stick to your hands. Lubricate the branches with glue, then sprinkle them with foam. Winter bouquet is ready!

You can also make such a winter do-it-yourself craft for school - a pom-pom bird. It is made in the same way as a regular round pom-pom made of yarn, the only difference is that not two cardboard rings are taken as the base, but the silhouette of a bird with a round hole inside. It will be interesting to decorate a bouquet of tree branches with such birds.

7. Winter crafts in the kindergarten. How to make a winter craft

It will not be a shame to bring such a creation to the winter crafts competition in kindergarten. This winter window is made of plain and corrugated paper. A kind of envelope is made from two sheets of thick colored paper, inside which a child's drawing is inserted. Curtains for the window are made of corrugated paper folded like an accordion. With the help of a hole punch, holes were made in them and put on a thin cord. Here's what happened as a result. By the way, drawings can be changed depending on the time of year or the mood of the child.

8. Winter crafts. DIY winter crafts

In our article on winter crafts for children, we also did not ignore children's plasticine crafts. See what a cute Christmas tree you can make from plasticine using ordinary nail scissors. We will not describe in detail here how to make this winter craft with our own hands, because everything is clear and without further ado.

9. Winter children's crafts. Crafts on a winter theme

In parting, I would like to tell readers about such winter children's crafts that give us warmth, a fairy tale and comfort on cold winter days and evenings. Winter crafts with children and for children

12:26 November 27, 2017

Long winter evenings, a quiet family atmosphere, New Year holidays - and now we wake up with a desire to create unprecedented beauty with our own hands. And if you also connect to your own imagination that huge mass of ideas that the Internet is simply full of, then you can definitely get hooked on homemade products. Moreover, no unusual materials are needed for this. Just the opposite: on winter crafts everything that is in the house will fit.

Such funny snowmen made of felt, socks and even salt dough.

Funny penguin made of colored paper will amuse the child and teach the basics of geometry.

Snow-white winter for many of us is a favorite time of the year, and the New Year is one of the best holidays. Just imagine: it's cold outside, the roads are covered with snow, everything is covered with huge snowdrifts, and the whole family gathered in a warm cozy house on a day off. And when the kids start fiddling with colored paper and scissors, then normal parents will not be able to stay away and will definitely join the needlework, which will please both themselves and the kids. Even more desire to create wakes up with the appearance of a fluffy Christmas tree. That's when the children with mom and dad open a real workshop of Santa Claus, so many toys for the Christmas tree, garlands, snowflakes and decorations for gifts appear from under their hands. This is not only beautiful, but also gives great joy to those who are engaged in homemade products, and to those who see them.

If you remember, we wrote in detail how to make a solution for crystals.

Our inventive mothers, if desired or necessary, can adapt any item for decoration. So New Year's crafts FROM FIGURED PASTA have become very popular. You can dream up with your child and make unusual toys and funny garlands. Even if they are simply painted in gold or white, sprinkled with piece frost, then the Christmas tree will sparkle from them, and the baby will be simply delighted. For the little ones, simple toys made according to cardboard templates are suitable. The child will be able to cut out figures from paper, felt or foil on them. You can also adapt unnecessary beads and buttons found at home, different in shape and color. Their child can sew according to his own taste to previously made figures. Then they must be hung on the Christmas tree in the place of honor.

Winter pasta crafts

For crafts, you will need different shapes of pasta, glue and sparkles.

Children's winter crafts

For older guys, you can offer more serious kids winter crafts requiring certain skills. So younger students can easily cope with the New Year's crafts - SLIPPERS WITH FATHER FROST. Of course, they can be made "in an adult way" - from thick felt, insoles, padding polyester. But in our case, a simpler one is suitable - a souvenir version of slippers that can be hung, for example, for combs in the hallway. They are made either from thick fabric or cardboard. At the same time, the child circles his foot on the cardboard and cuts out the base. Then he cuts out the top of the slipper from another piece of cardboard, and you can offer him to cut out its shape according to the template you made previously. Before connecting both blanks, the upper part is decorated under the face of Santa Claus. To do this, you can take a braid of a suitable tone, thick fabric, colored paper, two white buttons and two black beads, from which eyes are made, multi-colored yarn, a synthetic winterizer for a mustache, beard and cap edging. You can decorate everything with white gouache and sparkles. If your child gives such a souvenir to his beloved grandparents, then their happiness will know no bounds.

Winter theater from felt.

Beautiful New Year's card.

And here is another postcard with a snowman.

A funny version of New Year's crafts - Christmas tree decorations FROM EGG SHELL. At the beginning, from a whole egg (fresh), the protein and yolk are gently blown out through the punctures at its ends. Then the most creative stage begins - decorating the shell. The easiest way is to glue the entire surface of the eggshell with small pieces of colored paper. You can glue different applications from the same colored paper. If you add cotton hair, a mustache, a beard and a paper cap to the drawn mouth, nose and eyes, you can get a cute gnome, clown, Santa Claus or someone else. You can also glue the egg with sparkles, decorate it with finely chopped “rain”, various ribbons, as well as absolutely everything that comes to your hand. And you can just paint the shell, but not with watercolors and gouache. They do not attach well to the surface of the egg, so oil or acrylic paint is more suitable. The thread for hanging the toy, pre-threaded through both holes, is fixed at the lower end of the egg, for example, with a thread tassel or a bead.

Sugar snowmen.

Do you still not know how to properly use plastic bottles?

But for the PARADISE APPLE, everything that is in the kitchen will do. So you can crumple the foil and give it the shape of a small apple. On top of it you need to wrap the finishing layer of the same foil. A peppercorn is glued into the recess at the bottom of the apple, and two holes are pierced in the upper recess, into which the stalk, leaf and fastening thread are inserted. For a handle, you can use a knot, a real ponytail from an apple or a piece of twine, and a leaf can be successfully replaced with a bay leaf, which is better to tint for greater naturalness. Now it remains only to sprinkle the apple with snow. It can be replaced with scraps of paper, small foam balls, or you can use ordinary granulated sugar. In order for the snow not to crumble, the apple should be smeared with glue or transparent varnish (for nails) and rolled in a pre-prepared material for snow. Moreover, you do not need to roll the whole apple, but only one of its sides or top. When the apple dries, it will be ready to hang on the Christmas tree.

To make such a craft, you need to cut several holes in a piece of plywood and insert tree branches into them.

This composition is dedicated to the theme of the ballet "The Nutcracker". The figures in it are made of ... clothespins. Unfortunately, clothespins with a round top are not sold in Russia, but you can order them on the Aliexpress website or use regular ones.

From this video you will learn how to make a winter craft with your own hands based on the fairy tale "At the command of the pike."

Idea 2. Skating rink with a controlled figure

The originality of this winter craft is that the skater can be smoothly “rolled on the ice” by moving the magnet along the back of the box.

What you need:

  • A shallow tin for cookies, tea, etc.
  • Paper;
  • Paints and brushes, pencils or felt-tip pens;
  • Paperclip or coin;
  • Glue;
  • Magnet.

How to do it:

Step 1. Decorate the tin box so that it resembles a skating rink: paint the bottom with white and blue paint and cover with clear varnish (glitter nail polish works well), you can put garlands and flags on top of the box, and snow-covered trees on the sides.

Step 2. Draw a figure of a girl or a boy skating on thick paper or cardboard, then cut it out and glue it to a coin or paperclip.

Step 3 Attach a magnet to the back of the box. Voila, the rink is ready!

Idea 3. A picture painted with prints

Drawing pictures with fingerprints, palms and even feet is a lot of fun, especially for preschoolers. All you need is fantasy, gouache and a piece of paper! In the next selection of photos you can see examples of such drawings.

Idea 4. Paper mini tree

Another winter craft idea for the little ones is paper Christmas trees. They are made very easily and quickly, and you can use them as you like: as a decoration for the same diorama, appliqué for a New Year's card or panel, to decorate a garland or a Christmas tree.

What you need:

  • A sheet of green paper and some brown paper for the trunk;
  • Glue stick;
  • Scissors;
  • Sequins, rhinestones, beads and other decorations for the Christmas tree.

Step 1. From a sheet of green paper, make a square by folding one corner of the sheet, as shown in the photo, and cutting out the excess.

Step 2. Cut one of the short sides of the triangle into equal narrow strips, not reaching the fold of about 1 cm (see photo above).

Step 3. Now straighten your workpiece and begin to alternately glue the ends of the strips to the center fold line, moving from bottom to top.

Step 4. When you fix all the stripes, bend and glue the bottom corner of the Christmas tree up. Further in the same place, but on the reverse side, glue a small rectangle (tree trunk) cut out of brown paper.

Step 5. Decorate the Christmas tree with colorful beads, sequins, buttons and other decorations. If you wish, you can make several of these Christmas trees, glue loops to them, so that you can then assemble a garland or decorate a real Christmas tree with crafts.

Idea 5. Snow globe ... more precisely, a bank

Now we offer to make a real souvenir with your own hands - a variation of a snow globe. True, it will be made from an ordinary glass jar. A child will be able to present a craft to a loved one, present it at a winter crafts competition, or simply leave it on a shelf for beauty.

What you need:

  • Glass jar with lid;
  • A piece of foam;
  • Glue (hot or "Moment");
  • Acrylic paint to decorate the lid (optional)
  • Artificial snow or just sea salt, sugar, grated white soap or polyethylene foam;
  • Figurines that will be placed in a jar;
  • Styrofoam balls or any white beads;
  • Fishing line;
  • Needle.

How to do it:

Step 1. Repaint the cover in the desired color and leave to dry. In this project, spray paint was used to remake the lid.

Step 2. While the paint dries, we will make a “snowfall”. To do this, you need to string several foam balls on a fishing line threaded into a needle. To attach the "snowflakes" to the jar, use adhesive tape.

Step 3. Circle the bottom of the jar directly on the foam, then use a knife to cut out the resulting circle from it. This circle will become the base for the figurines.

Step 4. Glue your figures to the foam circle, then glue the resulting composition to the bottom of the jar.

Step 5. Fill the jar with artificial or homemade snow, close it with a lid with snowflakes and enjoy the view of a winter fairy tale.

Idea 6. New Year's card

New Year's cards are never enough, so we suggest making a few with your child.

What you need:

  • Sheet of white paper;
  • A sheet of colored paper;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue stick;
  • Markers.

How to do it:

Step 1. Fold a sheet of white accordion paper three times so that each top layer of the accordion is smaller in width than the previous one.

Step 2. Straighten your harmonica, cut the sheet diagonally and slightly in waves as shown in the photo above, then reassemble the harmonica. You have a slope of a snow-capped mountain.

Step 3. Now take a sheet of colored paper, glue the blank on it and cut off the excess. Hooray! The postcard is almost ready.

Step 4. Decorate the mountain with Christmas trees, draw snowmen and skiers, and finally sign the card.

By the same principle, but using larger paper, you can make a winter craft for kindergarten.
