The smallest watch from the latest G-Shock collections. G-Shock - a watch worn by Dmitry Medvedev Watch a G-Shock on his wrist

We can talk about the practicality and reliability of G-Shock watches, but everyone knows that the cult of the brand rests on limited models and unique collaborations. They are the ones that cause addiction to constantly replenish the collection. We asked famous jishok fans to talk about their favorite models, and expert Ivan Danilenko - to give some advice to those who do not intend to limit themselves to just a dozen hours

1. A real obsession with jishokas will require a lot of money. Rare limited models in the secondary market start at RUB 20,000, for example, the black and red GRX-5600GE-1 from 2011. The price can go up to 1,200,000 rubles. - as for pink Frogman GWF-1000TM, which came out in only 300 pieces.

2. Only "shelves" are considered collectible, that is, watches that are not worn but are in a box. Some models, provided that they have not been used, only become more expensive over the years. Therefore, true collectors buy limited editions in several copies - one brand new is kept in a box, and the second is used for its intended purpose.

3. It is practically impossible to get models that are produced in small batches of 100-200 units only for Japan - they immediately end up with collectors. If you're lucky, you can buy them later. Older models that are kept intact in a box increase in value over time, while worn ones fall. You can exchange hours at foreign collectors' exhibitions, forums (in Russia the most popular for these purposes is forum.watch.ru) and other specialized sites.

4. The meticulous collector pays special attention to the battery or battery. When storing watches in boxes, it is important that the batteries do not leak when the temperature changes. The Japanese take them out to preserve the internal clock module, so from Japanese auctions, for example, such as InJapan, jishoks come to Russia without batteries. If the price for a simple battery is rather low, then a solar one will cost five times more. There are already two batteries in the GA 1000 series - one for a digital time, the other for a turnout. Many models, such as the JDX 6900, have a battery that lasts at least 10-12 years. And the less often you open the watch, the better it stays.

5.with various artists, artists and brands. Nicknames are often assigned to such watches. For example, the transparent pink Takashi Murakami Frogman was released in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Japanese radio station Tokyo FM in the colors of its logo. The watch is dedicated to the work of Murakami - the famous flower, the artist's symbol is depicted on its back case - and came out in a limited edition of 300 pieces. In September 2010, the retail price of this model was $ 4000, now the price tag is just off scale. Or the matte black G-Shock Eminem celebrates the brand's 30th anniversary, with the rapper's personalized iconology and signature on the bracelet and case back. This watch, produced in only 250 pieces, was sold out in four minutes.

6. There are many practical life hacks on social media for G-Shock lovers on how to take care of your watch. For example, white jishoks are considered one of the most problematic to wear - over time, the corners are erased, the color begins to turn yellow and the glossy finish comes off. Also transparent cases fade, become dirty and cloudy more often. Therefore, regardless of color, watches require regular maintenance - once a week they need to be cleaned with a toothbrush with soap and warm water to remove dirt from poorly accessible parts. Some owners even wash their jishoks in the washing machine. After washing, wipe the dial with a microfiber, and then use a vacuum cleaner to suck out the remaining water from the surface of the watch (a hairdryer for drying is undesirable in this case, since hot air can melt the plastic elements of the case).

7. On the Internet most of all counterfeits are for analogue watches - firstly, they are better advertised, and secondly, many buyers are attracted by combined dials with analogue and analogue time. There is also a risk of running into fakes of the leading DW-5600 and DW-6900 models, especially from China and Malaysia. When buying a watch from your hands, first of all, you need to be well versed in prices - real jishoks cannot be unreasonably cheap. It is worth paying attention to the quality of the engraving of the letters (the letters are extruded on the original G-Shock), as well as the bolts - they should be suitable for both Phillips and flat screwdrivers. It is desirable that the owner has a complete set - the watch itself, a box, an instruction manual and a warranty card (even if the warranty has expired long ago).

We asked famous G-Shock fans to share their favorite models.

Not to say that I have such a large collection, but there are some interesting specimens. My first G-Shock was a collaboration with tattoo artist Mr. Cartoon. I have been following his work for a long time and could not help but acquire them. I really like camouflage, so my other jishocks are watches of the same theme - collabs with Undefeated in military aesthetics and the brand's collaboration with Maharishi, where the camouflage pattern is obtained from a photo of the lunar landscape. I could not pass by the anniversary editions for the 30th anniversary of the brand, and for the sake of solidity I added G-Steel to my collection. In addition, I have my wife's constantly selected classic white and black G-Shocks, bright yellows, silvers, as well as several watches related to contemporary art: collaborations with Bearbrick and Kevin Lyans. Among watches, this brand is probably ideal for me - it combines convenience, functionality, reliability and beauty, as well as proximity to street culture, which is why it provokes a constant expansion of the collection.

I don't know exactly how many watches I have in my collection - probably about 720 G-Shocks and 30 Baby-Gs. But I only wear 150-200 pieces. To work - and I'm a brewer - I wear a reliable GW-6900. The rarest in my collection is the 2013 collaboration with Gorilli (a Dutch online magazine about street culture that later opened a store in Rotterdam. - Author's note) in 2013, only 50 of them were released. But I'm not looking specifically for rare models. I have many friends among G-Shock collectors all over the world, they help to complete the collection. Without them, it would be insanely expensive. In general, as a rule, I am lucky with new acquisitions. In 2010 I was in Japan and met many collectors in Tokyo and Kyoto. I remember that we arranged a hunt for jishoks with them. New G-Shocks are quite expensive in Japan, which is why specialized second-hand shops are popular there. And so we went to these stores in search of rare pieces - then I bought the Lovers Collection from the 90s and the WCCS frogman. And when I was just driving to that meeting, while I was waiting for my train, I found an MRG-120 on a leather strap.

Initially, I began to collect only one model from G-Shock - the classic DW-5600, but later the collection was replenished with a large number of another classics - the DW-6900 and the relatively new GD-X6900 model. Now in my collection there are about 60 jishocks, almost all of them (with the exception of the very first acquisitions) are collaborations with various brands or artists (my favorites: models DW-5600 and DW-6900 in collaboration with Bape, DW-6900 - with Undefeated, and (See also GD-X6900 - featuring legendary Futura graffiti writer). Also in the collection there are special releases dedicated to any event (model DW-6900, released in honor of the 30th anniversary of the G-Shock brand, and the same model dedicated to the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France). Only such limited editions are really valuable watches for me. If we talk about the models themselves, then they all do not have arrows, and until last year I did not have a single G-Shock arrow. It has always seemed to me that analog watches are the prerogative of expensive Swiss brands. But for a long time now I have been wearing only switchmen - the new G-Shock G-Steel model, with which not a single limited edition has come out yet, but which conquered me 100%. They look more "mature" in comparison with my entire collection and at the moment they have suspended my collection. I'm looking forward to the new G-Steel models though.

I love the GD-100 and GA-100 for customization, the GD-350 for the large numbers, the Mudman G-9300 for being the cheapest round model, the Frogman for its heavy metal body and unique design, the Rangeman for their perfection, Mudmaster - for the quintessence of the whole philosophy of G-Shock, MTG-S - for elegance. I also love the Casio Pro Trek for its quick access to features, large numbers and a simple display. In general, every watch - depending on its shape and color - is suitable for a specific situation. And I think the most correct thing is not to collect limited editions, but to buy the ones that you like. G-Shock for collection is a poor investment, as only rare models do not lose value over time. Therefore, it is better to spend money on those that you will be happy to wear.

The fish is looking for where it is deeper, and the person - where it is cheaper, but the excessively low price should still alert you. In pursuit of a discount, it is possible to buy a fake. This concerns, by the way, not only online, but also offline purchases.

Today we will show and tell you, using a live example, how the original Japanese wrist watch Casio G-SHOCK differs from a fake one, which we ordered in one of the many online stores (let's call it conditionally "X"), offering this product at an incredibly low price.

When placing an order for fake watches, in fact, we were buying them blindly, since the seller did not consider it necessary to place “live” photos of the goods in the X online store. The site contained only promotional pictures, which can be found in countless on the vast expanses of the Internet by typing the appropriate name of the watch in the search bar.

Despite the fact that we bought a "pig in a poke", the hope of seeing a "worthy copy" did not leave us, however, it did not last long - exactly until the moment when the counterfeit watch did not fall into our hands. The difference is obvious: the differences between the counterfeit and the original Casio G-SHOCK GA-100 watch can be seen with the naked eye.

Package

The difference in packaging is striking. Original packed in a beautiful steel box with stamped brand and collection logos. The watch comes with an instruction manual, a book with an international guarantee and a warranty card. The most reliable proof will be the stamp of an authorized dealer.

Fake packed in a standard jar with the inscription Fashion Sport, and in order not to confuse the models, a transparent lid was attached to it. Instead of instructions - white foam rubber.

Clock face

In addition to the packaging, there are also striking differences on the dials. The dial of the counterfeit watch looks like a toy, moreover, it is a few millimeters smaller, but this difference is striking only when compared with the original Casio G-SHOCK GA-100.

On the original, on the dial, additional indicators are limited to overhead parts (rings, etc.), but on a fake, the plane of the dial is a single piece, cast entirely.

There is also a strong difference in the way the minute notches are made (thin strokes in the original) and the applied hour indices (more precisely, they are applied only to the original). In a fake, these elements form a single whole with the dial and inner bezel.

Round chart indicators differ dramatically. For a fake, the upper central dial is not able to perform its function, the explanation is simple - it is drawn. The upper left has a confused order of functions, and the right one just blinks randomly, while in the original, the right one is activated when using a stopwatch and shows thousandths of a second.

The difference is also noticeable in the two lower digital displays. In the fake, we see extra symbols (a static pattern with columns of letters) applied to the right screen of the display, they forgot to indicate the purpose of the lower blocks under it, apparently, the would-be masters themselves do not know why they are in their copy.

The front photo shows the difference between the color of the substrate in digital displays and the quality of writing fonts in the markings applied to the bezel and the logo of the collection. For a fake, they are blurry, for the original, white paint is applied neatly and in the right place. In the region of 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock the original has auxiliary inscriptions (shock resist, start-stop and others), the fake does not have them.

On the original, all information is read at once, even at an angle. There is also a backlight for small displays, which makes it easier to read information even in the light.

For a fake, the backlight is barely visible, we can say that it is absent at all, the font is not clear, there is a certain "blur", which, together with the glare of a thin plastic plate covering the dial, creates difficulties in the perception of data.

At the bottom of the dial, you can also see the differences in the design of the logo of the brand, collection, and an error crept into the information on water resistance. But the accidents are not accidental - the fake watches lack water protection as such.

The red ring, which gives a special zest to the design of the G-SHOCK GA-100, lies between the watch case and the bezel. As you know, "shocks" have a composite body, from an inner capsule and an outer plastic body. So this ring is located at the place of their junction and is visible only in sectors. And the craftsmen from China did not complicate the task for themselves, and we see the same red ring in its entirety.

Side buttons

The side control buttons in the original model are colored red, and the fake buttons got the buttons in the color of the case. If we compare the corrugation, then the original Casio G-SHOCK GA-100 definitely win from both the functional and the aesthetic sides: smooth "pimples" of a fake cannot be compared with clear pyramids.

Case and strap

There is also a difference in the quality of the plastic. It is noticeable in the photo that, unlike the original Casio G-SHOCK GA-100, the fake watches have flaws in the plastic from which the case and the strap are made: roughness, imperfections, color inhomogeneity. Hardly anyone will answer for the safety of such plastic; allergy sufferers should be careful.

The buckle of the original Casio G-SHOCK GA-100 watches and the fakes is also different: the fake has a different shape - the edges are more rounded, in addition, we see polished metal instead of matte. And finally, the look of the Casio company logo - on the original it is applied by embossing, a different type of font is used.

Back cover

There are also differences in the engraving of the watch back covers: font size, the absence of some inscriptions, actual errors. First of all, the watch model: if you enter GA-100 5081 into the search engine, you will find images of this line in different color options, but those indicated on the counterfeit 1289 immediately give us a “review of the Chinese copy”. Very comfortably!

On the counterfeit watch, the indication of antimagnetic was either forgotten to indicate, or they decided not to lie. And of course, in an attempt to splurge on the back cover of the fake, proudly Made in Japan is indicated, which is not true. G-SHOCK GA-100 is not produced in Japan, Casio honestly says about this, posting information on the back cover that only the watch module was assembled in Japan, but the final assembly was made at a licensed factory in Thailand. Even the size of the screws holding the lid differs, the original has them larger and stronger.

General rules for choosing an original Casio wristwatch

1. First of all, don't expect to buy a good hand-held watch. A smiling man at the station will offer you his Casio for the cost of a ticket home, only he hasn't left for six months. Oddly enough, despite the popularity of large online flea markets such as Avito, scammers are still found on the streets, do not think that these are fairy tales.
2. Pay attention to the price: the desire to save money is quite natural, but the difference in several times is the main sign of a fake. A watch that a manufacturer has cost, say, 10-12 thousand rubles, with no discount from any distributor can cost one and a half thousand (but for a cheap piece of plastic that has nothing to do with the concept of "watch", this is even too high a price ).
3. Once in a small store or a corner in a shopping center, check the seller's documents: if he has a contract with the manufacturer, all certificates and confirmation that he is a dealer should be on hand.
4. Only shop at an online store that inspires confidence. Check if it's on the "where to buy" list on Casio's official website. In general, always look on the seller's website for information that this is an official dealer.
5. When ordering via the Internet, you should be alarmed by the lack of "live" photos, especially if this is an unknown store. It is possible that the sellers found photographs on the Internet, and did not even hold a real watch in their hands.
6. If the photo is still "live", check the literacy of the inscriptions. Errors like Criple sensor instead of Triple sensor or Rageman instead of Rangeman are not allowed. It is also important to write, fonts, inscriptions can be located "upside down". Fraudsters still have less machines and flaws in writing will be noticeable.
7. If you buy from a private person on the Internet, ask the seller to send you a "live" photo, while the watch must have the current date. Next, ask to put a piece of paper with your nickname, for example. A normal person will meet you halfway, the deceiver will start playing.
8. Casio's production may be China, Thailand, Japan, but not Belgium and other EU countries. They are pointed out in the hope of showing off.
9. Go to large stores, hold the watch in your hands. If there is an opportunity to inspect Casio before buying, you will be able to assess the quality of production, see flaws in small details, and feel how the belt material differs. For fakes, the body parts and the belt at the attachment point may dangle, while in the original, no backlashes are allowed.
10. If the watch is already in your hands, open the instructions and go through all the main functions. The original will not fail, but a fake can, for example, count up to 32 seconds and reset the readings to zero. Something similar is possible in any other complication: try adjusting the time, changing the date, setting the alarm, finding out the direction, altitude, pressure, time in a 24-hour format, another time zone, and so on. There may be no backlighting.
11. Check the model of the clock module: there are numbers on the back cover, you can use them to determine the instructions for the watch on the official website, and then compare the declared functionality using it.

If you wear a watch all the time, then you must have asked yourself the question: will they break if I wash my hands and I forget to take them off, accidentally hit them on the wall, leave them in the hot sun or severe frost.

With watch Casio g-shock such questions are meaningless. You put them on your hand and forget about any circumstances: you can dive into water to a depth of 200 meters, use them in extreme heat and severe frost, they are not afraid of strong overloads and magnetic fields.

Is this watch right for you? Review awaits you the most interesting models.

A classic for everyone

The choice in favor of this watch was made by many famous people of completely different professions... They are worn not only by famous hip-hop performers (such as Kani West and Lil Wayne), but also by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Aviators

Clock G-Shock GW-3000 resemble some kind of complex instrument from the cockpit of an airplane. This stylization is not so much a tribute to design ideas as a practical solution: the model very popular with civil and military pilots, and they are so familiar.

Pilots love this model for its good safety margin, per automatic time adjustment(the clock adjusts the time several times a day by receiving a radio signal on a special frequency). Especially convenient for people crossing many time zones will be setting world time for 29 cities and opportunity set home time zone.

But the most important thing is that the watch easily transfer overloads in 12G... Civil aviation pilots do not face such overloads, and the military rarely experience them, only when performing aerobatics. However, according to the pilots themselves, in ordinary watches, from frequent flights, the hands gather together or begin to rotate in a completely arbitrary way, and G-Shock GW-3000 continue to "live".

G-SHOCK philosophy.

If at the beginning of its journey the Ji Shock watch was perceived as an extremely reliable and indestructible wrist watch, today the brand name implies the presence of a certain philosophy of life, which is accessible and understandable to everyone who loves freedom and wants to be unique in everything.

So, the first law of Ji Shock philosophy is - never give up! You are given everything to be a leader, achieve your goals and be the best in everything. Use all the available tools and opportunities, get out of the box, and your jishoks will provide you with control over time. Never stop, develop, and all the unconquered peaks will soon be at your feet!

The second law of philosophy - be unique! Be unique in everything, create your own lifestyle, form your own rules and be different from others. If you think that fashion watches are the basis of your style, then you are deeply mistaken. The style of G-SHOCK products is formed by the users themselves in order to be able to emphasize the individuality of everyone who wants to stand out and the gray crowd of the same people. The once narrowly focused product has now become widespread due to the uniqueness of each of its users, for whom a unique watch design is created.

The third law says - erase the social boundaries! Note that Ji Shock's watch can be worn by anyone and it doesn't matter whether he is driving an expensive car or racing through the waves on his board. A culture of equality and respect is at the heart of the philosophy of a watch brand that transcends social status, boundaries and discord. It is not for nothing that today jishokas adorn the hands of both famous personalities and ordinary people who can still declare themselves to the whole world.

The G-SHOCK philosophy speaks of personal development, dedication and freedom of choice, which is not limited either by financial status, or social status, or age. Being active and full of energy is the key to a colorful life, where Ji Shok's bright colors will ideally complement the style of everyone who supports the new philosophy of life that a huge number of people have begun to preach today.

GD-400-1E, GD-400-4E, GD-400-2E, GD400-3D, GD-400-9D.

How does the idea come up to choose one or another model for this heading? If you think a little, then this is a rather multivariate process. Most often, when you want to focus on any of the interesting watch options, you manage to pick up several bright and interesting models where this “feature” is not just presented, but the marketing emphasis is placed on it in the watch. And in this case, the release turns out to be so harmonious that it easily turns into an integral plot, a full-fledged story about this interesting feature.

A little less often, when a bunch of new products appear at once, we try as soon as possible to provide you with the opportunity, at least on the monitor, to evaluate how they all might look on your hand. And here, together with the most detailed digests, diligent reviews, "manual defile" can provide comprehensive information about a particular new model.

Today's release will be the release of one model, on which the author was wounded. The GD-400-1ER watch was accidentally in use for a couple of days, and left too pleasant memories, so there are no barriers not to tell about them today. Well, it's worth additionally tightening up the color variations for extras.

So, GD-400-1ER. Detailed operating experience and a full review of the model can be read by jumping here. From personal experience, it is worth noting the practical ease of wearing, and the practical inconvenience of use. The watch strap, or rather the slots for the tongue, seem to be made exclusively for your hand (and how did they guess?) - not that they don't pull your hand or dangle like a flower in an ice hole - they fit your wrist so nicely that the watch seems to merge with you and no longer dare to bother you with their irregularities on the hand. The watch is worried about only one thing - an inverted display, be it wrong. The sun peeped out from behind the clouds - the clock was blind and useless. Twilight thickened over the city - the clock is useless, since it is unreadable again. Backlight? There is good sense if the button is jammed with a toothpick. Otherwise, the clock is beautiful and, alas, that's all.

Simultaneously with the black model, several more color variations came out, which solved the problem in design terms - watches in a color scheme are more fun, more original, and more fashionable than just black, albeit with a bloody tint. Well, and readability - there is order with it almost everywhere. The displays are within the basic color of the model, and all indicators are distinguishable in any weather and time of day. Hooray.

A watch with a “bumper” is a great rarity, even among the company, which, in fact, was the first to use this bezel protector. The days when this bracket could really protect a fragile watch are over. Now such watches can themselves, if necessary, protect this bracket from damage.)) In modern G-Shock models, it is more like a decorative element, a tribute to an engineering find and a successful design solution. Yes, the protector still strengthens the structure more, and if it has to be hit, the watch will be saved - this is a strong wire. But the watch just looks cooler with it. Few Casio models show this bezel protector, but if it is present on a watch, then +100500 to the design is a fact.

Green seems to be the most pleasant color combination, but the display ... The impression is spoiled, again. Interestingly, Casio's employees will someday declassify information - why do they pop a completely uncomfortable thing at great hours, making a sad bueee out of them?….

God bless him, with the display, it cannot be altered. I would like to note one more interesting feature in the general GD-400 series - a strap. The fact that it is convenient - we said. This is due to the very soft rubber. A rubber that outwardly looks too deceptively like a strip of textiles. Stylish, pleasant and practical.

Khaki option. I would like to say that it may well pass for the military, but we are used to the fact that the military is necessarily something tactical, which means it is black, like blued steel. Although this color option would be quite logical for some variant of the army marpat (type of camouflage). But, since it did not take root in the army, then it will certainly be or will already be appreciated by young people from street movements who prefer urban military.

That seems to be all, but as a bonus it is worth offering the limit. It is quite interesting externally - only black color, and it looks much cooler than the very first model with red tints. The display is plain gray - everything is fine. As in all limits. watches have their own peculiarity. Here is a strap styled as a cracked earth. Although, in this color, it looks more like the "evil" tread of some cool, all-passable jeep. And it would be clearer and easier to accept. But no, for some reason the company HUF, the fashion brand of streetwear with which this collaboration was carried out, in general, they chose the cracked ground. What this is for is not clear. But the watches donated by such cooperation turned out to be too excellent and brutally attractive. Must have.

G-Shock is a watch worn by Dmitry Medvedev.

If you constantly wear a watch, then you must ask yourself the question: will it break if I wash my hands and forget to take them off, accidentally hook it on the wall, leave it in the hot sun or severe frost.

With the Casio G-Shock, such questions are meaningless. You put them on your hand and forget about any circumstances: you can submerge in water to a depth of 200 meters, use them in extreme heat and severe frost, they are not afraid of strong overloads and magnetic fields.

Is this watch right for you? An overview of the most interesting models is waiting for you.

The GR8900A line of watches was made for fans of the G-Shock corporate identity: all the characteristic features are especially pronounced here. The model looks like an "armored car", which is not afraid of any blows, which, in fact, is not far from the truth.

The watch has a shockproof protection system, it is not afraid of magnetic fields and vibration overloads. With them you can dive to a depth of 200 meters. At the same time, the watch uses an automatic backlight, 4 alarms, world time in 48 cities, a stopwatch and a countdown timer.

Unusual design and reliability

The G-Shock DW6900-4CB series delivers the highest rigidity and impressive looks. The watches are not so massive, but this did not affect their quality in any way.

All the standard set of functionality is present here: high shock resistance, protection against the effects of magnetic fields and vibrations.

There are several ways to conveniently measure time: if necessary, you can use a stopwatch, it works with an accuracy of a hundredth of a second, there is a calendar and a countdown timer.

Unique style

The Black and Gold line is, in my opinion, the brightest and most unusual models. Gold inserts on a massive black case look very contrasting, thanks to which the watch is very noticeable, you literally can't take your eyes off them 🙂

The GD100GB model is suitable for those who want a stylish and unbreakable watch. Here is a full set of functional qualities of G-Shock: magnetic fields, strong vibrations, shocks, deep diving, this watch is not afraid.

Automatic backlight and LCD display, stopwatch, timer, 4 alarms - there is everything for convenient time measurement.

  • Immersion in water to a depth of 200 meters
  • Full automatic calendar
  • Backlit alarm clock

However, the watch is notable for its affordable price. At the official Casio store, you can order them for $ 130.

Perhaps you have your own opinions on the topic "What is a G Shock on hand"? Write about it in the comments.

G-Shock Creator Kikuo Ibe told Bloomberg about the vision of the market. The engineer is surrounded by dozens of watches, including the 1982 prototype. “Fully working,” says a 64-year-old Japanese man with pride, who is 50 on the strength of his strength. “People value toughness, and ji-shoki is synonymous with it.”

The story began in 1981, when Ibe broke a watch donated by his father. Upset - not the right word ... As an engineer at Casio, Ibe took up the design of a shock-resistant watch mechanism that could withstand a fall on a hard surface and retain functionality. This is how the first G-Shocks appeared with a hollow body filled with alpha-gel - a substance that dampens shock and vibration impulses.

35 years after Casio's technological revolution, other companies are trying to betrothed IT technologies with watches, as science fiction writers have written about before. Apple, Samsung, Sony are pouring billions of dollars into the development of wearable electronics in the hope that smartwatches will open up new markets and connect users to their own ecosystems.

And how will G-Shock stay in the game?

Certainly without the release of smart watches. " Smartwatch battery is a headache... Plus a small screen. I'm not sure this market will grow in the future, ”says Ibe. Casio will not compete with Apple and Samsung. Instead, the company will focus on releasing models with a bluetooth module without operating system support. The simpler, the more reliable.

Casio has built a cult of durability around itself. Firefighters, military, paramedics choose reliable watches, not smart stuffing representatives of Android Wear. Shock owners collect G-shocks - and this is what the manufacturer's business plan is based on. To maintain interest in its products, Casio launches new models and experiments with colors. Apple, on the other hand, is limited only by the case material and interchangeable straps: it is too expensive to develop a Watch in a different form factor, the user must be out of his mind to get a couple of them in the "collection". And "shocks" are bought eagerly.

In September, the world will see new AWs, and Casio will show six new Golfmasters - G-shocks with a nautical theme with ebb / flow charts, moon phase indicator, barometer and compass, altimeter and thermometer. And this watch will be shockproof and waterproof. Not like some ...

Celebrities are not shy about wearing ji-shocks. George Clooney, Rihanna, Eminem and others regularly appear in the frame.

Kikuo Ibe wants to create the perfect, durable watch that can withstand any kind of stress. The most difficult thing to deal with is the high temperature at which electronics fail. At the end of the conversation, the Japanese mentions space tourism: “When an ordinary person flies into Earth's orbit, I want to have a G-Shock on his hand. I have a dream to create a watch for space. “[Bloomberg]
