Crafts from a corrugated cardboard scheme. DIY corrugated cardboard crafts step by step

There is hardly a house in which there is no corrugated cardboard. This popular industrial packaging material is perhaps the second most common after plastic. It usually consists of three layers: 2 smooth and one wavy. Recently, crafts from this available material have become extremely common. And this is not surprising, because it is plastic, dense and cheap. You can use ordinary corrugated cardboard left over from the boxes, cut it into strips, or buy a special colored one.

At first glance, it may seem that the possibilities of such a material are very limited. However, this is fundamentally wrong. We will tell you what do-it-yourself corrugated cardboard crafts you can do with your children, and we will offer you some interesting creative options for adults.

What do you need?

The main material for crafts is corrugated cardboard. It is best to cut it into strips of various (required) widths and lengths if the craft is planned to be voluminous. When you create an applique, you first need to mark up with a simple pencil. Accordingly, you need scissors, a stationery knife.

If the material is not painted, ordinary, then use paints (acrylic, gouache) and brushes. For complex crafts, corrugated cardboard and individual elements from it will need to be connected, therefore, PVA glue or a glue gun is needed. In addition, stock up on ribbons, beads, colored paper, and a needle and thread. The main technique for working with corrugated cardboard is quilling, that is, twisting strips into a spiral of various densities and then combining individual elements into a composition, figures, etc.

Christmas toys

New Year's fireworks rang out, the toys were packed into a box, and the snow would begin to melt outside. And even though the making of Christmas tree decorations is not as relevant now as a couple of months ago, we still propose to adopt some interesting ideas. Save them, and next year you will not have to puzzle over what to take to kindergarten or school. The main advantage of such toys is lightness, and the disadvantage is that they cannot be used outdoors.

In literally 10-15 minutes, a Christmas tree from corrugated cardboard, such as in the photo above, can be made. The amount of starting material depends on what size you will be making the toy. Don't make the strip too wide. So, for a length of 50 cm, 3-4 cm will be enough. Carefully roll a strip of cardboard with a roll. Next, fasten it so that it does not turn around, and then stretch it into a cone. Make the trunk out of a smaller roll. You can make Christmas tree decorations from the remains of cardboard, or use beads.

Or, for example, make such a wreath as in the picture using a combined technique - applique and quilling. The main highlight in it is minimalism and simplicity of form: the fewer small details, the more stylish the result is.

Cartoon characters

Corrugated paper, cardboard is very pliable and easy to use, but at the same time textured material. Working with him will be interesting not only for young children, but also for schoolchildren in elementary grades. To do this, you need to complicate the task. Try, for example, making some cartoon characters.

The picture above shows that the craft, among other things, can be adapted for storing little things, like a casket. The system is the same. From one wide strip about 15 cm wide and 10 cm long, roll up a roll, fasten, glue the bottom. Then make the arms and legs in the same way. Finally, roll the head - a strip of cardboard 1-1.5 cm wide and 20 cm long (focus on the diameter of the cylinder) into a roll and pull it out slightly. Glue on the eye beads.

Or you can create a whole composition of figurines, like these adorable and very popular minions in the photo.

How to make a photo frame from corrugated cardboard?

Cardboard, which has a high density and strength, can be easily used to make a photo frame with your own hands. You need to decide on the size, then cut out the base, and then carefully attach the decor to it.

In this case, the photo frame is made in a nautical style. Corrugated blue waves of cardboard are decorated with a palm tree, clouds and a boat. The craft is simple and original. You can easily change a photo in it, make a new frame with a different theme, or create a whole series. In the version for the girl, sweets and fruits are used.

Food

Another popular craft theme is food. Corrugated cardboard will help you to embody the most interesting and unexpected ideas. With your own hands from a minimum amount of materials, you can create a table with the most exquisite dishes, unfortunately inedible, but very beautiful. This idea can be used in various competitions, performances at school or kindergarten.

The easiest option is rolls. The craft will take a minimum amount of time. All that is needed is a few strips of multi-colored corrugated cardboard 1-1.5 cm wide and 5-6 cm long. This will be the filling. Twist the rolls out of them and hold them together. Make a layer of rice from a strip 1.5-2 cm wide and 10-15 cm long, glue it on top in one layer with black cardboard.

In order to create something more original, you will have to make some effort and show imagination. If you do not have colored cardboard on hand, then do not worry, ordinary will do. The lack of color, as you can see, does not interfere with the quality of perception. The structure in the photo, consisting of a stand for cakes and pastries on it, seems complicated only at first glance. In this case, the technique is different from quilling. The cardboard is rolled up with a tube, and crumpled and cut pieces are laid on top in layers. Additional decor is created using thin strips of a wavy layer.

Caskets and boxes

As mentioned above, corrugated cardboard is initially a strong packaging material. However, it can be used in a more original context than just boxes. Colored cardboard makes original boxes for small items, stationery, etc.

They will be especially relevant for girls who are interested in such things. It is enough to come up with the shape of the box, cut out its walls and bottom, fasten them together, and then add a lid. This is the main part of the job. Next, the decorating process begins - the most interesting and exciting.

Logs made of cardboard

Do you have a fireplace but no firewood? Maybe you can get by with cardboard? This version of the craft is the best fit for fake purposes (performances, scenes, etc.). A collection of logs of the most varied sizes and shapes is done quickly and easily. Take regular industrial cardboard from boxes. Cut it into strips of different lengths and widths and roll into rolls, then assemble as shown in the picture.

Paint on top of the logs, the surface is uneven and textured, very similar to real wood.

Castles and palaces made of cardboard

If your intentions are more serious and firm, and there is an inexhaustible supply of industrial cardboard around, then start building a castle or palace. You might then want to make your dream of Big Ben come true in the nursery or the Eiffel Tower.

Start small and dream big. Use unpainted regular corrugated cardboard, and start adding color after the craft is completely ready. Sometimes you don't even need to add anything, the natural color is good enough anyway.

One of my guys' favorite things to do is applique and construction from corrugated cardboard... These activities develop perseverance in children, help them think creatively. Here are some simple samples. What would applique could be done faster and easier I give children stencils and patterns. In working with children during artistic creation, I put purpose: this is the development of sensorics, fine motor skills of hands, spatial imagination, technical and logical thinking, an eye; the ability to navigate different types of information. The development of sensory perception is facilitated by the processing operation paper:

1. flexion;

2. cutting;

3.the ability to circle on a stencil

4. pasting.

I think it is very important that during production applications the child gains confidence in his abilities, dexterity of the hands, flexibility in the fingers appears, the accuracy of work is improved. Gradually, the children develop such qualities as dedication, perseverance, the ability to bring the work started to the end.

Imagine and create! Develop children!

Corrugated willing

Corrugated willing Is a corrugated cardboard quilling. It is specially prepared in strips of various thicknesses for modeling certain parts of the figures. It looks beautiful, bends easily, keeps its shape well. It is much easier and easier to curl strips made of colored corrugated cardboard than with paper. Crafts and toys made using the corrugated willing technique , turn out bright, large, voluminous and unusual, much less time is spent on their production. Children really like working with corrugated cardboard: the finished craft turns out pretty quickly.

Corrugated strips

Colored corrugated cardboard in strips for quilling are strips of two-layer micro corrugated cardboard in bulk: one layer is flat, the second layer is straight corrugated. It is used to create and decorate postcards, crafts, corrugated toys, boxes, panels, large works using the quilling technique (corrugated quilling).

In addition to ready-made strips, you can use corrugated cardboard in sheets and packaging cardboard, having previously cut it into strips of the required width (one layer of paper must be removed from the packaging cardboard).

Master Class

Your master class should not completely duplicate the one already available in the Land of Masters. Before publishing, check through the search that there are no similar MKs on the site.

The process should be photographed in stages (see Tips for taking pictures of crafts) or filmed (see how to upload a video).

The order of registration: the first photo is the finished work that is proposed to be performed, the second photo is the materials and tools necessary for the work (or their detailed description), then the MC stages from the first to the last. The final photo (the result of the work) can repeat the very first one. Photos should be accompanied by clear and competent comments on the process.

If you have already published your MK on another site and you also want to publish it with us, then you need to follow all the rules for designing an MK described above. In other words: in the entry with the type of MK, you cannot just put a photo of the finished product and a link to a master class on another website.

Attention: all master classes in the Land of Masters are checked by the site's assistants. If the requirements of the Master Class section are not met, the entry type will be changed. If the User Agreement of the site is violated, for example, copyright is violated, the record will be removed from publication.

Many parents ask themselves - what to do with their child on a rainy day? A good way to pass the time profitably is to do cardboard crafts. I present to your attention diagrams of crafts, which are easily made from cardboard, also with your own hands.

Corrugated cardboard is very convenient for creativity, it is even easier to work with it than with paper, cardboard bends easily, keeps its shape and at the same time is much thicker than paper. This cardboard is used in the quilling technique (paper curling). Crafts made of corrugated cardboard, created from coiled spirals, turn out to be voluminous, airy and very beautiful. Such cardboard is suitable for decorating holiday packages, postcards, frames and photo albums.

We disassemble packaging schemes for a small gift in the shape of a mouse made of cardboard with our own hands

A simple master class for young children. The mouse is suitable as packaging for a small gift. It is made of colored corrugated cardboard.

We take cardboard of the desired color, draw a triangle on it with an angle downward, then draw three more triangles equal to the first. Two triangles on the sides and one on top, the final drawing should be one large triangle (all sides should be equal). Next, we turn our drawing upside down and draw semicircular ears, then take cardboard of a different color and glue it on the ears, level it. We make four holes for attaching the ribbon. We bend along the lines of the triangle, folding the box. We show our imagination for the manufacture of eyes, antennae nose. You can also make an elegant cardboard collar, glue it over with paper, fabric or lace.

Workshop on creating hot coasters from unnecessary boxes

Crafts made of corrugated cardboard are good, namely from unnecessary boxes that are in every house and are thrown away as unnecessary. Do not rush to get rid of such materials, because boxes, namely, cardboard can be used to make a lot of interesting things. Such entertainment is easy to share with children, it is done simply and quickly.

We need a box, a stationery knife, a compass, glue and design elements (paints, stickers, pencils, fabric). Cut out squares of the same size 2 or 3, depending on the desired size, glue together, let the glue dry. In the next stage, we draw two circles with a compass, an external and an internal one, cut out with a clerical knife. We take the cardboard again and cut out the stand, circle the outer side of the early blanks (rings). Next, we attach the rings to the stand with PVA glue. When the stand is ready, go to the decoupage technique. Usually use colorful napkins, old playing cards will also work. If you wish, you can decorate the craft with acrylic paints to your taste. At the end of the work, cover the product with varnish. It can be used as an original cup holder, as well as turning the product over and used as a hot stand.

We make a volumetric tiger cub from corrugated cardboard with our own hands

Moving on to the fun part. 3D figures made of cardboard will impress any child. I present to your attention the MK for making a tiger cub.

We take orange corrugated cardboard and black, cut 2 strips, with a diameter of about 0.8 cm.We need 2 whole strips, 2 cut in half. We take half an orange strip, half a black one, a whole orange one and a whole black one, with glue together. We twist this strip to form a round disc, glue the tip. We bend it with our fingers, forming a hemisphere. We do the second part in the same way. It turned out two hemispheres, do it carefully so that they are the same, coat the insides with glue so that the part does not fold in the future. From them we glue the ball, mask the junction with a black strip. The base for the head is ready. Next, take a yellow cardboard, cut out a strip with a diameter of 0.5 cm, you need one whole strip and a half, twist an oval and give it a slightly convex shape. Twist two small discs for the ears from the half of the segment, press it slightly from the side to attach it to the head.

We glue the face, adding eyes, nose, mustache and eyebrows. Moving on to the body. Cut 3 black stripes and 2 orange stripes, glue them, alternating colors, and twist them into a disk. We form a cone, lubricating with glue from the inside. Legs, twist two ovals out of orange cardboard, give it the shape of a drop, glue the yellow strip in two turns. We twist small fingers in the form of droplets, three pieces, attach to the paw from above. Upper legs, we make cones from orange stripes, we twist the yellow stripes into a disk, giving a slightly convex shape. We attach an orange cone with a yellow disc, glue it with black stripes on the outside. So, the last part of the tiger is the tail. We make a long oval, smearing the strip with glue, press the middle of the oval, giving it a curved shape. Decorate across with black stripes. We glue all the details together, admire the result.
