DIY paper crown

Carnival costumes are an invariable attribute of children's holidays. And often an important detail of many children's costumes is the crown. It's great if you have ready-made costumes for a king or queen, prince or princess. But if there is none, the question arises before parents: how to make a crown with your own hands? The easiest way to make a crown is out of paper or cardboard.

We offer a simple master class on making a cardboard crown. This crown is suitable for both girls and boys.

So, we need:

  • plain paper;
  • Pencil;
  • Scissors;
  • Colored paper or cardboard;
  • Stapler or glue.

First, let's create a sketch of the crown. Then we will embody it on plain paper. We folded an A4 sheet in half to make our decoration symmetrical, and drew a preliminary diagram. Keep in mind that the size of a sheet of cardboard or colored paper may be slightly smaller than standard A4.

Slightly rounded lines. We have got such a crown template.

Then we cut out the details of the crown from paper.

Now you need to fasten the halves with a stapler and try on a mock crown on the child's head. If necessary, we adjust the size of the crown - narrow it or, conversely, make the template a little wider.

Separate the parts again and transfer the template to colored paper or cardboard.

Carefully cut out the parts and connect them with glue or a stapler. The crown for the princess or prince is ready. If desired, you can decorate it with colored appliqué or rhinestones.

You can create your own crown chart or download a crown template from our website and print it out. Even if you use a ready-made template, it is better to make a mock-up of plain paper first - to make sure that the product will fit the child in size.

Happy holiday to you!

How to make a crown with your own hands?

paper crowns

Our lovely young ladies are increasingly delving into role-playing games. Moms, daughters, princesses, horses, bunnies, girls, rescue cars - this is a small part of the favorite roles of Simka and Ksenia. And although we don’t have a clear princess cult (we don’t buy exclusively pink things, Barbie dolls and other super princesses), girls still have girls and, of course, they are not averse to becoming princesses :) Young ladies love beautiful dresses, sandals, beads , bracelets. What about princesses without crowns?

Once we already made princess crowns from toilet paper rolls. Imagine, they are still alive” and children play with them from time to time! This time I decided to make crowns that the little ones could decorate on their own. In general, now the choice is large: 5 types of colored crowns and 5 black and white coloring crowns. Both can be colored with pencils, paints, felt-tip pens, decorated with jewels (there is a printable template below), sprinkled with sparkles, etc.

And each crown can be adjusted to the size of a child's head. To do this, each sheet has several parts of the same color.

You need:
  1. Cut out the parts from one sheet and connect the side parts to the central one with a stapler.
  2. Attach the blank to the child’s head and try on the crown to mark where you need to fasten the ends.
  3. We fasten the ends in the marked place with a stapler. We simply cut off the excess.

These crowns can be printed very well for a children's birthday to pamper the little guests and turn them into monarchs :)

In addition, such a crown can be used as part of a snowflake or butterfly outfit, which are popular at children's matinees. From this material you will learn how to make a crown out of paper.

Crown made by Cleveleng

The first thing you should do is to draw a diagram of a paper crown. This is necessary to imagine what details will be needed. Our crown will consist of blue, purple and white paper. In the process of its manufacture, you will use a clerical knife, glue and a toothpick. The paper should be cut into strips, the length of which is 21 cm and the width is 5 mm.

At the base of the crown are white and purple circles and diamonds (24 pieces each). In the first row are round blanks fastened with glue. In the second row there are diamonds that are glued between the circles.

The third row is made of multi-colored circles glued between diamonds.

To make a snowflake, you will need to use blanks resembling a drop and the same diamonds. You will need blue and purple drops (six each) and white diamonds (seven).

Now you need to do a good job of gluing a snowflake to the base of the crown, and then diversify the composition with white and purple diamonds and droplets. For a more magnificent look, we decorate the top of the crown with blue rhombuses.

And at the final stage, the crown should be turned over, smeared well with glue and left for a day to dry. Once the crown is dry, you can spray it with regular hairspray to make it more durable. That's all, you've made a piece of jewelry that a real princess deserves!

Making a crown for room decor

Little princesses and princes, in addition to looking like real representatives of the royal family, of course, want their surroundings to correspond to the royal canons. To fulfill children's desires, make a paper crown designed to play the role of a decorative element in the children's room. To make such a decorative element, you will have to use a printed paper crown template, colored paper, decorations (braid, leaves, flowers), glue, scissors and tape.

First, you need to take a crown template and print it using a printer. If you can’t use a printer, then just attach a piece of paper to the monitor and redraw.

Now let's move on to the manufacture of the back side of the workpiece. To carry out these steps, you need to trace the outline of the crown on thick paper and cut it out.

Double-sided tape is attached to the reverse side (any stationery store contains this product), or a ribbon is glued, which will serve to hang the crown on the wall.

Next, we move on to the manufacture of the front side of the crown. Attach a beautiful scrap paper to the template, cut out the silhouette and glue it. Now we fix the decor elements, here you can use ribbons, flowers. Children will be delighted if the crown is decorated with their name, so that each of the guests knows who owns this room.

Well, that's all, now you know how to make any type of paper crown. It remains only to put this knowledge into practice in order to give your children a lot of fun, joy and a truly royal mood.

Choose a paper crown stencil based on the preferences of the child and the purpose of this product. Boys usually like simple crowns with straight lines and sharp corners, embellished with a minimal amount of glitter or glue rhinestones.

Girls prefer ornate accessories. If you want to make such a simple crown, complete it with a flower.

template with photo, detailed step-by-step MK

Preparing for holidays, theatrical performances, matinees, photo sessions and other children's events always causes a lot of difficulties, because it becomes necessary to prepare a costume that matches the intended image. A headdress is an important component of any themed outfit, and one of the most popular today is a do-it-yourself paper crown.

We will tell you how to make an unusual do-it-yourself paper crown for a boy or girl.

Crown on a cardboard basis: the manufacturing process

The easiest way to make a do-it-yourself cardboard crown is to cut it out according to a template and decorate it with foil. All you need to create such an accessory is a couple of sheets of cardboard, scissors, glue, pencil and foil.

Start the process by taking measurements: measure the girth of your child's head - and add a few centimeters to the obtained values, since a piece of cardboard will be glued from the back. After the calculations, proceed to cut out a long strip, which will serve as the basis for the paper crown.

The next step is to create the top of the crown. You can use a ready-made cardboard crown pattern, as well as cut out the necessary shape yourself. For example, manually draw teeth of the same or varying height with a pencil - and cut along the contour.

Next, proceed to decorate the frame of the crown: coat the cardboard with glue - and fix a sheet of foil of a suitable length. We advise you to bend the edges of the foil inward on each side of the accessory so that the cut joints are not conspicuous. The rest of the foil paper is glued to the inner walls.

When the crown is completely dry, carefully cut off the excess foil between all the teeth of the structure. Bend the edges of the material inward similarly to the manipulations described above. Only after the crown has been completely glued and has completely dried, can the teeth be fixed on the holder strip and the edges fastened together. A circle has formed with characteristics suitable for your child.

A cardboard crown can also be made in a different way: cut and sequentially fasten several dense layers to each other, and then decorate the craft with beads, sparkles, foil elements, rhinestones, satin ribbons, tinsel and other trifles.

If you are creating a crown for the New Year's carnival, a bright rain or a fluffy cotton layer along the lower border of the crown will be a great addition to this accessory.

You can make a crown with your own hands from paper according to the template. Take a thick paper sheet - and draw the shape of the crown with a pencil according to the found stencils. A paper crown according to a cutting template is best done in bright colors.

In addition to colored paper, you will need PVA glue and a stationery knife.

We invite you to try to implement another unusual idea - a snowflake crown.

To create a do-it-yourself paper crown on your head according to a template, just a few simple manipulations are enough:

  1. Cut out strips of colored (for example, red and yellow) paper with parameters of seven millimeters by twenty-five centimeters.
  2. To create the base of the paper crown, prepare twenty circles and two diamonds of the same size. To create the first row, you will need circles that will be connected to each other with glue.
  3. Next, perform the second row: this time use diamonds - and fix between the circles of the first row. The remaining rows are performed in a similar way by alternating two geometric shapes and shades.
  4. The main highlight of this decoration will be an unusual snowflake. Schemes of a paper crown with a snowflake can be downloaded from the Internet, but you can also make a good decor manually: glue rhombuses and circles together to create a large snowflake of a multi-colored palette. Such a composition is glued to the center of your craft.

To make the crown more magnificent, each subsequent geometric layer can be made wider. Then the composition will increase towards the top - and will look much more interesting than traditional purchased accessories.

The crown, made with your own hands together with the child, will surely become his most favorite accessory and will often be used in games and entertainment. And made specially for some solemn day, it will help to preserve the memories of this holiday and make it brighter.

Nothing is easier than making a paper crown using ready-made templates. They can be printed at the desired scale, if necessary, enlarged or compressed to the desired size.
