REPLACE GOST 17037-83

Reissue. January 2010

This standard establishes terms and definitions of basic concepts in the field of finished garments and knitwear for household use.

The terms established by this standard are mandatory for use in all types of documentation and literature included in the scope of standardization or using the results of this activity.

The standard is fully consistent with ST SEV 4827-84.

There is one standardized term for each concept.

The use of synonymous terms of the standardized term is not allowed. Unacceptable synonyms are given in the standard as a reference and are marked with the label "Ndp".

The above definitions can, if necessary, be changed by introducing derived signs into them, revealing the meaning of the terms used in them, indicating the objects that are included in the scope of the concept being defined. Changes should not violate the scope and content of the concepts defined in this standard.

In the case when the term contains all the necessary and sufficient features of the concept, the definition is not given and a dash is put in the "Definition" column. For products that combine signs of two types, such terms are used as: dress-suit, dress-coat, skirt-trousers, belt-pants, pantaloons-pants, pants-pants, etc.

The standard provides alphabetical index the terms contained therein.

Standardized terms are in bold, their short form is light, and unacceptable synonyms are in italics.
