November 3 - short working day

Since Friday 3 November 2017 immediately precedes the holiday non-working day November 4, expressly stated in article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, it is recognized as a pre-holiday date. Therefore, it should be shorter by 1 hour for all employees of Russian organizations and entrepreneurs, with the exception of those who work on a special schedule. Together with him, shortened days fell only three times in 2017:

• February 22 - before the holiday, Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is celebrated on February 23;
• March 7 - before International Women's Day on March 8;
• November 3 - before the National Unity Day on November 4.

Working hours on November 3 with a six-day working week

If an organization works on a six-day week, then its employees retain the right to a shorter working day. Therefore, the pre-holiday day of November 3 for them will also be reduced by one hour. However, the legislation does not provide for the opportunity to rest on Monday the 6th for such a schedule.
