Irish lace cords and swirls. Openwork pattern "Curl" or "Scroll" with knitting needles (c video) What you need for knitting

I used Semenov yarn (100% acrylic, 100 g / 438 m), hook No. 2.5.

I found this interesting diagram on the Internet.

The description here is in Spanish (which I, unfortunately, do not speak), so I knitted as I understood. Next, I will show you step by step how I did it.

Master Class.

Take dark yarn. Make an air loop, wrap the tail of the thread with a ring.

Crochet a single crochet, a half double crochet, and a single crochet.

Set aside the dark yarn (I first pulled out a long loop so that the knitting does not bloom) and take the light one. Make an air loop.

Tie a single crochet into the initial ringlet, as if continuing knitting.

Work a half double crochet and a double crochet. Now you need to slightly tighten the dark thread to reduce the ring. Double crochet 2 into the first dark stitch.

Then work 2 more double crochets in the next 2 loops.

Set aside the light thread and knit again with a dark one in the first 3 light loops, 2 double crochets each.

Continue knitting, alternating 1 double crochet and 2 double crochets in one loop. Now you will get 3 such alternations (and there will be 5 in total).

Continue knitting with a light thread. Also make 5 alternations of the 1st and 2nd double crochets.

Finish knitting with a dark thread, knitting 2 more times alternating the 1st and 2nd double crochets, and then repeat 2 times in each light loop: 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets.

Similarly, finish knitting with a light thread (1 st.s / n, 1 st.s / n, 2 sts.s / n, 1 st.s / n, 1 st.s / n, 2 sts.s / n).

Now you need to tighten the initial ring (pull up the dark thread and tie a knot with the light one).

They got like this.

Now we need to connect them. To do this, combine the pattern of the same color and thread the ends of the threads, as shown in the photo (if it is hard to see, click on the picture).

Tie knots, fasten and cut the ends of the threads.

You have a pattern crochet curls.

You can make a belt or sew on as a decoration, for example, on.

Irish lace cords and swirls are gaining popularity in a world of new technology and excellence. All progress is moving forward, and it would seem that there is no place for anything from the last century. But no matter how quickly time fled, and changes were not made, the ancient traditions and the art of lace weaving, passed down by generations of craftswomen, were still not forgotten.

Lace products, created by wonderful interweaving of various ornaments, fascinate with their uniqueness and subtlety of the needlewomen's workflow, depicting charming works. The technology of knitting patterns is diverse, there are many ways, but the fruit of inspiration amazes with the originality and lightness of an exceptional pattern. Clothes made in this way are extravagant and divine.

Refined, unsurpassed weaving is done using the technique of Irish lace. To recreate extraordinary things using the guipure method, you need to be patient and desire.

Characteristics of Irish lace

Irish knitting is marked by the collection of a complete product from separately knitted parts, fastened together with a net. It is important to feel the created creation, to choose the matching shades of the fiber, to clearly combine the details. If you come creatively to the execution of an exciting event, the outcome will not be long in coming - the master will create a masterpiece. By concentrating on the technique of magical craftsmanship, novice sorceresses will weave their original creation.

Irish lace, cords and curls, flowers and petals, connected by a mesh, look interesting. Curls and laces look advantageous and excellent, emphasizing the compositional solution being created.

caterpillar cord

I propose to see detailed step-by-step instructions on how to create an unusual caterpillar cord in Irish lace.

Illustration briefing
1. We knit 1 in. p., winding the tool under the thread of the first knot, we bring out the thread, making a loop.
2. 2 p. have been formed, one of them is deduced.

3. We turn the tape.
4. In a rotated view, we are looking for two threads.

5. We draw a loop through the detected pair, two loops have formed.

6. One is pulled out of two loops.
7. Work turns.

8. A loop is pulled through 2 threads.
9. The procedure is repeated.

Types of fasteners

The blanks that form the compositions are fastened with three types of networks:

  1. Fillet.
  2. "Honeycombs".
  3. Asymmetric grid - an unequal void is filled.

The connection is an unpretentious version of knitting, which consists in laying out the elements on a sample, filling the empty gap with chains. The manipulation is facilitated by the fact that the network is immediately formed according to the prepared pattern and the workpiece is attached to it. Most openwork pieces are collected in an irregular network.

Look what a charming blouse turned out from coils and a thick ribbon connected by a pretty mesh.

Let's try to knit the main element of the jacket - a fantastic curl.

What do you need for knitting?

In the creative process of creating exclusive curls, you will need material:

  • multi-colored yarn;
  • hooks of the appropriate size;
  • bobbin fiber;
  • scissors;
  • scheme;
  • sketch;
  • pillow;
  • tailor's pins;
  • organizer.

Having thoroughly prepared, we begin to create art.

Curl

Consider carefully the schematic representation of the motif we have chosen.

This completes the curl formation steps.

To make a thing, we put all the related fragments for a set into an organizer. Spirals and ribbons are diluted with flowers - to improve the intended composition.

Having finished knitting the blanks, we carefully wash them, dry them and iron them with an electric iron. We lay out the steamed motifs on a fabric pattern laid on a foam pad. Details are laid out according to the imagination and imagination of the needlewoman. In the process, you can swap typesetting fragments until they are fixed. The next trick is to attach the parts to the sketch with needles with caps. See the photo illustration below.

Having well attached the details, we fix them with a mesh.

We observe the components that lie smoothly on the linen form, which must be perfectly even so that it is convenient and comfortable to tie your model. A free mesh is formed with the help of chains and columns of various heights for linking the links. This is a painstaking and time-consuming process, as a result of which light, extraordinary, incomparable, delightful products are created. The correct selection of components and combinations of colors will add elegance and luxury to the clothes.

I'll tell you how to make an original grid with your own hands.

loose mesh

We begin to create from the middle in a spiral, making six air loops, locking them into a ring. Arches are knitted around the formed circle, fixed with single crochets. At the end of the tier, the initial and last arc are connected.

Further activity is the same, only the number of loops in the arches increases to seven.

The next item will be spiral knitting - turning the canvas either in one direction or in another. In order for the creation to come out beautiful, it must be gradually increased. For this, double crochets are used, forming steps along the transition of the turnover.

When making a mesh object, picot and knots are added.

By learning how to combine motifs, you can create products of any complexity.

How to knit a Curl pattern? This question was asked by one of my subscribers. I also wondered what kind of openwork pattern it was and what kind of knitting technology it had. There was a lot of information on the Internet, and I decided to make a video lesson so that everyone who wants to can learn how to knit such a pattern. The curl pattern is considered a popular French pattern and has another name - "Scroll".
In addition, it turned out that this pattern underlies some types of the Missoni pattern.
Please note that when knitting this pattern, when knitting two loops together (both front and back), it is necessary to observe the slope to the right or left in accordance with the diagram. Otherwise, the pattern is easy to knit.
Description:
The number of loops should be a multiple of 10 + 2 loops + 2 edge loops, for example, if you need to repeat the pattern 3 times: 10 * 3 + 2 + 2 \u003d 34 loops.
1 row: 1 person., * yarn, 8 persons., 2 together with the front with a slope to the right, * 1 person.
2 row: 1 out., * 2 together out. with a slope to the right, 7 out., yarn, 1 out., * 1 out.
3 row: 1 person., * 2 persons., nakid, 6 persons., 2 together with the front with a slope to the right, * 1 person.
4 row: 1 out., * 2 together out. with a slope to the right, 5 out., yarn, 3 out., * 1 out.
5 row: 1 person., * 4 persons., yarn over, 4 persons., 2 together with the front with a slope to the right, * 1 persons.
6 row: 1 out., * 2 together out. with a slope to the right, 3 out., yarn over 5 out., * 1 out.
7 row: 1 person., * 6 persons., yarn over, 2 persons., 2 together with the front with a slope to the right, * 1 persons.
8 row: 1 out., * 2 together out. with a slope to the right, 1 out., yarn over, 7 out., * 1 out.
9 row: 1 person., * 8 persons., nakid, 2 together with the front with a slope to the right, * 1 person.
10 row: purl 1, * yarn over, purl 8, purl 2 together with an inclination to the left, * purl 1.
11 row: 1 person., * 2 together front with a slope to the left, 7 persons., yarn over, 1 person, * 1 person.
12 row: purl 1, * purl 2, yarn over, purl 6, purl 2 together with an inclination to the left, * purl 1.
13 row: 1 person., * 2 together front with a slope to the left, 5 persons., nakid, 3 persons, * 1 persons.
14 row: purl 1, * purl 4, yarn over, purl 4, purl 2 together with a tilt to the left, * purl 1.

18 row: purl 1, * purl 8, yarn over, purl 2 together with a tilt to the left, * purl 1.

Repeat rows 1-18.

The scheme of the pattern "Curl"

Attention! The diagram shows both front and back rows.

It wins the hearts of needlewomen with amazing swiftness, despite the fact that the process of knitting them is not very simple and requires not only time, but also a special concentration of attention. Of course, for a beginner knitter, Irish lace looks quite tempting, but let's not forget that the jewelry accuracy of such lace knitting comes only with experience. However, no one prevents us from gaining this very experience, right?

Since Irish lace is, first of all, the ability to crochet and connect a variety of motifs, any needlewoman should think about having as many motifs as possible in her personal piggy bank.

Beautiful curls and curls, voluminous, embossed and at the same time airy, will greatly expand your technical capabilities. The richer the set of elements that can be connected to each other, the more effective the finished product is. Curls will look great in a variety of projects.

In addition, these elements can be used in jewelry - necklaces, tiaras, bracelets. And also as a decor for knitted products, knitted or knitted with a knitting machine. Discussion of the article

Master class on crocheting jewelry for a vest with Irish lace "Curl".

In order to complete the curl, first we knit the caterpillar cord. In the photos below I show how this cord is knitted.

We carry out the length of the cord to the edge of the curl, we look at the selected length on the product.
We knit a chain of 6 air loops. In the 3rd loop we knit a single crochet. In 4, 5 and 6 loops, 5 columns with one crochet.

Then we knit 5 columns with a crochet, 2 half-columns, 1 column without a crochet. Insert 1 air loop between the columns. These posts cling to the cord. We pull the loops from the wrong side of the cord, not over the edge.

We turn the knitting and knit single crochets for the front wall of the lower loops. Depending on how long the curl should be, we knit so many columns. The fewer bars, the longer the curl will be.

According to the principle of the first curl, we perform the second curl. We knit again a chain of 6 air loops, on it are the columns of the curl itself and proceed to knit the columns on the back wall of the bottom row. It turns out a scar on the face from the single crochet of the previous row.

At the end, I knitted 3 curls without gaps on the air loop and at the end I made a chain of 4 air loops into which I knitted 3 single crochets.

We carry out other elements of decoration.

leaflet

Along the contour, I tied it with single crochets. The base is a pigtail, made of air loops, tied with single crochets. To get a bend, we knit several columns in one loop.

Rostock

Basis cord "Caterpillar". Connected by the end into a curl, arches of 3 air loops are made along the edge of the cord, which are tied with single crochets.

Attach all details to knitted product and baste with a thread of a contrasting color.
Sew along the edge of the Irish lace with blind stitches. The cord is sewn on both sides. No need to sew on "tightly - you can't tear it off", if you want to change the decoration, it should be easily removed. The threads with which it is sewn are tucked from the inside of the main knitted product.
