The thing is that you don’t need to make a lot of effort to perform them, and the effect produced on the viewer fully justifies the efforts of the magician. With the help of them, you can surprise a group of friends anywhere, even without prior preparation. In this article, we will take a closer look at the most spectacular rubber band tricks that anyone can learn.

Fidget gum

First of all, let's turn to the most famous, classic trick, in which the audience will see an elastic band crawling over their fingers on their own. The props for this action are minimal - ordinary office rubber bands and that's it. The audience watches as the person performing the trick puts it on two fingers of his palm. This is followed by clenching the palm into a strong fist. Then, the magician quickly opens his fist, and the viewer notices that the prop has jumped onto two other fingers in the neighborhood.

There is nothing complicated and extremely unusual in this trick. The most important thing here is to wrap the elastic band not only around two fingers, on which the viewer initially sees it, but around four at once before showing the trick. To make it easier to understand the scheme of actions, you should refer to the image:

Figure 1 shows an example of focus preparation in the case when it is wrapped around the little finger and ring finger. Exactly the same effect can be obtained if you do this with the index and middle fingers. The difference will be only in the very first step of preparation.

After an elastic band has been fixed on any two fingers of the hand (for example, as in Fig. No. 1), it is necessary to squeeze all fingers into a fist, and gently pry it off with the index finger of the right hand, as shown in the second stage. If you want to make this action even more discreet, pry it with your thumb, as in the third step. Further, while squeezing the palm, you need to pass all four fingers into the ring formed, as in the fourth stage. When the palm is extended, the rubber band should itself jump over two adjacent fingers, and leave the audience wondering how it was done.

It is important! Do not show this trick in front of the audience until all the movements are performed on your machine. If the viewer suspects some hidden manipulation of the rubber band, the effect of the focus will not be so bright.

Complicated focus option

This trick can be a little more complicated, making the audience even more impressed. To do this, another one is put on top of the main elastic band (Fig. No. 2).

In figure No. 2, the additional rubber band is shown in red, and it, as it were, should limit the magician in his actions even more. In fact, it in no way interferes with the transformations that were described in the first version of this trick. The trajectory of the main elastic band is shown in blue in Figure 2, and you can easily make sure that it easily bypasses the artificial barrier. Just repeat all the steps you already know from the first version of the fidget band trick and impress the viewer even more.

creeping ring

This trick is not distinguished by any skillful tricks, but despite this, it always makes a strong impression on all viewers. The props of this trick are a cut rubber band and a regular ring. The magician takes a ring from any of the spectators, and threads this elastic band through it. Then it is strongly stretched between the hands of the magician. In this case, one end is lower than the other. Despite this, the ring begins to crawl upwards, not subject to any earthly laws of physics.

The procedure for performing this trick is extremely simple:

1. When pulling the elastic through the ring, do not use its entire length, but only 2-3 centimeters. The rest remains in the palm so that the viewer does not notice it;
2. The visible length of the elastic must be pulled through the ring, while holding the rest in your hand. This is the key point of this focus;
3. Next, you need to raise the hand that holds the end of the gum without the ring, and shake it a little. After that, the ring should fall to the very bottom of the other end;
4. Then, gently release the loose end, and you will see how the ring smoothly rises up. In fact, this is not a ring that overcomes the laws of physics, but an elastic band pulls the ring up due to unclenching. The main thing is not to make quick movements, otherwise the focus may not have the same impression or even fail.

As you can see, rubber band tricks are distinguished by their simplicity and impressive effect on the viewer. You can easily master a few simple tricks that were described above in just a few hours of training. Well, after days, weeks and months, you can bring it all to perfection.

Mastering this trick is not difficult, the main thing is to understand the movement of the hands and perform it smoothly! A simple trick, but causes a storm of enthusiasm among the audience.

There is an interesting trick with a wide rubber ring, which must first be held in a certain way. Then twist twice with your thumb and forefinger, they need to be moved in certain directions, which can be found on the net in a special video lesson.

Now you need to ask the viewer to remove the ring from the finger, but it must be grabbed in the same way as you are holding: the right thumb and right index finger hold the ring at its upper end, and the left thumb and left index finger hold the ring at the bottom. Next, you need to offer to straighten the ring in order to get rid of twists, you can change the position of the hands, but you can’t unclench your fingers at the same time. Of course, no matter how much the viewer moves his hands, he will not be able to complete the task. "Jumping gum"

There are a lot of tricks with stationery gum. One of the simplest is called "Jumping gum". In performing this trick, finger dexterity is important and preliminary preparation. If desired, it will be mastered by any person. Of the attributes you need - an elastic band and free hands. The trick is that the elastic band, worn on two fingers, after clenching the fist, jumps to neighboring fingers.

What needs to be done for this? The clerical gum must be put on 2 adjacent fingers (for example, the ring and little fingers) and imperceptibly - on the first phalanx of the thumb. Thus, you get a figure similar to a triangle. Further, clenching a fist, the index and middle fingers should be quickly and imperceptibly pushed inside the formed figure, and at the same time, the rubber band should be thrown off the little finger and index finger. Thus, the gum will seem to jump over to neighboring fingers. You need to do this trick quickly.

"Jumping gum (complicated version)"

The next rubber band trick is similar to the first one, but looks more impressive. On top of the elastic band, thrown over 2 fingers, another one is put on - over all fingers, with twisting around each. It looks more serious than in the first option, but in fact, the actions are identical to the actions of the previous trick.

"Crawling Ring"

To perform the "Crawling Ring" you need the most common stationery gum, a smooth ring and free hands (preferably without rings, since their presence on the fingers can interfere).

Cut the elastic in one place. Take a large part (about 2/3) of the gum in your right hand. Pass it through the ring. With your left hand, grab the tip of the rest and lift it up. Shake the elastic band and start to slowly release the elastic band with your right hand: the ring should crawl up in spite of common sense and the laws of physics. This movement is explained by the tightening of the elastic band.

"Tear the gum"

The next trick with a rubber band is the most difficult compared to those presented above. You will need one elastic band and free hands.

The first step is to show the viewer an ordinary rubber band. Step two is completed in one to two seconds: you need to stretch the elastic for a certain distance on the index fingers. Further imperceptibly, having bent both little fingers, press it to the palm of your hand and make a tight fit. From the side it should seem that you do not have an elastic band folded in half, but one. At the same time, connecting the thumb and middle fingers on each hand and putting them to each other, thereby forming the letter "O", you need to bring the gum to your lips and pretend as if you are biting it.

Step three - quietly remove the elastic from your fingers, rolling it in your palms and showing it to the viewer. The most difficult thing is the second step, because several actions must be done simultaneously and quickly. But it's worth it - the audience loves this trick.
